Dubbin 24/7, how many wheel bolts do your wheels need? Corrados are either a 4x100 or 5x100 fitment... If yours is a G plate 16V, it'll be 4x100 (4 bolts spaced equally around a 100mm diameter circle) Hubcentric means that the spacers fit onto the hub like the wheel does making sure that it stays perfectly on the centre, and that it provides a "lip" on the other surface which the wheel will fit onto making sure that the wheel AND spacer stay perfectly centered... 8)

not keen on the front end.... looks like a fairlady which has gone square from taking far too many steroids... :|
-
it's a crap bodge... it's a resistor that screws up the air temp sensor (MFA on VR6, CO pot on G60) and makes it overfuel or run leaner... Not a good idea... :|

Zarmann made those lights for his corrado... you're correct that they're based on Audi lights... He made them himself and it took him quite a while... around 4 weeks IIRC! :| A lot of messing around is somewhat of an understatement... oh, and the front sheet of plastic has a nasty habbit of melting when the main beam is on for a while too unless he's now managed to sort that out... :|

blackcat, Warez: Comes from "Where is?" - A website to find illegal, pirated software, illegal copies of registration/activation codes for software, or software which will crack/bypass the copy protection/software activation parts of software allowing users to illegally use software without buying it. Words like Warez are often written using random capital letters or numbers to replace letters to confuse search engines and people looking for this kind of site in order to get it closed down... w4r3z is another way it's commonly written... ;)

conleycrew3, ETKA is horrific-ly expensive to buy, anyone who has a copy either has an illegal version that they've copied off someone or works at a VW garage... everyone Please don't offer illegal software on a public forum... we don't want to get shut down for being a WaReZ site... ;) (however, if anyone gets in touch with conleycrew3, via PM or Email, then there's nothing we can do about that.... ;) )

yup, been running toothed belts for nearly 2 years now and the only problem was a chewed belt which happened when the car was in an accident... Sounds awesome and makes the power delivery sooooo instant... 8)

feck, that really is some car... 8)

yup, push 'em into the holes, then push the badge on... 8)

but I wouldn't recommend them anymore after the hassles I've had with 'em.... :( I believe HutchyVW knows of/works at (can't remember which) a good bodyshop in Trafford Park though... worth getting in contact with him and finding out who he uses... 8)

conleycrew3, click on the link in his Sig for more details of his car... it's a real work of art and the pics just don't do it justice... 8)

sounds like one of the dif rivets has let go and punched its way out of the dif housing... :| Normally new gearbox time if it is... new dif and some welding at the very least... :(

Corrado VR6 involved in accident early this morning??

Feck, I remember that car at E38... :| Not nice to hear about.... :( -
Feck... glad everyone got out of that OK... :|

dinkus, yeah, I'd seen that one too... it just bounced off whatever it was it hit and landed firmly on its arse!

Corrado spotting! Was it you - [October 2005]

Blue Storm at Smith Knight Fay last night... Parked next to your car as I was trying to buy some bits for the interior air ducting flaps which I've now found out VW made obsolete 4 years ago... :( Nice standard looking Storm anyway, except for the sprog seat in the back... ;) -
thinking more along the lines of a 2.0 with 150ish BHP AND a remap... ;)

J-DUB's in bits at the moment (in my garage, living room, dining room and back garden... ) and is awaiting me to get some cash together to buy a written off car to do an interesting loom and engine transplant from... probably a MKIV or MKV Golf TDI... 8) I've got enough bits to put her back together now if I wanted to with the G60 engine that came out of H-YYU, but I don't want 2 G60s... If I'm gonna have a second car, it's gotta be something more economical, and seeing as she currently owes me less than £400, I reckon a TDI conversion's the way to go... 8)

nope, AFAIK, G60 ECUs don't give anything other than ABS information via the diagnostics port... :(
-
use spade terminals and you should be able to connect to the original thermo switch... ;) That's how mine's wired anyway...  I made up a fresh loom for the fans 'cos I've got a single speed 12" thin fan on there from ThinkAuto... I'm using the standard fan run on system and the standard fan +ve feed from the fuse box, but in J-DUB it was all relay'd up straight to the battery and in H-YYU I've replaced the old wires 'cos they'd gone all green and crappy instead of nice shiney copper... ;) At the moment I've got a male spade connector that I plug straight onto the battery when I'm gonna use the car 'cos the thermo switch died when the head gasket started blowing and if I don't do it this way, the car overheats in about 4 minutes! As it is, I can drive it for over an hour without it overheating, although the coolant system gets somewhat pressurised... :|
-
Lippy, same two... ;) The Passat also got the 9A engine IIRC, and mechanically it's virtually identical to the KR anyway... :)
-
If you've a 1.8 16V, as Dazzy says, get the Golf MKII haynes manual and the 92-95 Passat Haynes manual and you've got pretty much all the info you'll need... The Bentley is American and so doesn't cover the 8V or 16V cars 'cos they were never exported to there... :|
-
GIXXERUK, with you there... I just can't remember which make my smoked M3s are...

GUYS! Whoah there! Read Nicks earlier post before telling him to spend lots of money! Houston? We have a culprit... ;)

Fusebox fan live -> Rad Thermo switch low switch-> Fan Motor low +ve Fusebox fan live -> Rad Thermo switch high switch-> Fan Motor High +ve Fan Motor -ve to earth There's also a fan run-on which is wired from the fusebox and joins onto the low speed wire AFTER the thermo switch... This is assuming a 3 wire fan... VRs have a 4 wire with 3 speeds - mine just has the low switch wired to the fan instead of both high and low so it comes on flat out straight away without a lower speed (the resistor pack is in the fan motor, all wiring is 12V ;) ) Essentially, you can power straight from the battery to the thermo switch and then onto the fan, but don't forget to plonk a fuse in the wire from the battery... I'd hate to see your masterpiece go up in smoke... :|
