J-DUB wears smoked M3 style lights... I can't remember which ones make 'em but FK make one style, and InPro make the others... I have a feeling that InPro make the smoked M3 ones and FK make the crystal M3 ones... You can still get 'em though... Have a word with GwentVW or Venom, they'll sort you out with a set... 8)

OK, the reason that they're a slightly different design is so that muppets don't use white bulbs in the indicators, as they're designed to use amber bulbs instead... ;) If FK/Inpro allowed you to use the original bulb holder, they wouldn't get TUV certification as you could then have white indicators and (if you were a muppet) maybe wouldn't realise.... The holders they supply have an offset pin configuration on the indicator bulb holder so you can't (unless you really try!) put in a white bulb. Amber bulbs nearly always come with an offset pin so will fit... 8) Simply terminate the supplied bulb holders with male spade terminals and plug 'em into the original wiring so that you're using the supplied holders without having to mess around with the original wiring... 8)

yeah, that's the only bugger, you can't fit the flywheel while the engine's on the stand... :|

If you get to see "Marion again" if it's repeated, watch as the main character is driving up the Curry mile in Manchester, and you can see my Grey Corrado parked up down a side street as "Marion" kisses the guys windscreen, and then again, when another woman swears at him through the windscreen as he's having a kinda deja-vu moment... My missus thought I was mad as I jumped up at the TV when I saw it... I'd seen them filming when we'd gone for a curry, but didn't think anything of it until I saw the program! 8)

dr_mat, Late Corrados DO have some side impact re-enforcement in the doors... That's one of the differences in the door design... As for Encap results, the Corrado wouldn't do that horrifically... it's a well built, solid car, so the passenger cell tends to stay pretty much intact in a collision. The bits it would do badly on are impact absorbtion ('cos it's crumple zones ain't that big) and the fact it's not got any airbags... Personally, I still feel that the rally car school of car accident management takes some beating... Full on seam welding, roll cage and use whatever you hit as the crumple zone... ;) It's not particularly pedestrian/cyclist friendly though.... :|

If a tractor/farm vehicle leaves mud on the road which has dropped from it's tyres (or anywhere on the vehicle) technically it's classed as an insecure load and they can get procecuted for that. Technically they should have a tyre bath which they have to drive through before they drive on a public road to ensure that they don't leave mud all over the road. Although, as Yan says, it's only ever enforced if there's a serious accident... :|
-
:iamwithstupid: Yup, got the same one Yan... 8) Built a G60 on it and it's currently holding my spare G60 engine (and has been for the last 4 months...  )

You could start by looking in the "exterior" part of the Knowledge base... ;)

I'd bet that Nitromores would shift it.... . . . . . . ...although you'd definately need to repaint the bonnet afterwards...

an insulated car body travelling through dryish air will easily generate several thousand volts of static electricity... give it some time and you'll also provide enough ampage to be able to stop your heart... :| Think about it, lightning is created by hot air rubbing on cold air, and that'll happily kill you if you touch it... :|
-
Actually, the tyres DO allow electricity to go to ground through them, they're not as insulating as you'd think they would be otherwise if you drove your car in dry conditions, it'd kill you when you stepped out of it due to the static electricity it built up... :|

Ignition barrel problem? UPDATE - got a new switch - :help:

yup, about £25 from VAG... Don't be tempted by an aftermarket one from GSF or ECP as they're not as good as the VAG ones and will need replacing again much sooner... ;) -
Nope, it's a big shiney NEW oil cooler! ;) 16row Mocal where the original intercooler was with a 90degree thermostat on the feed to it... 8) Oh, and there's a 12" hi-flow thin fan on the main radiator too which is wired to come on flat out on the lower thermoswitch setting which helps keep the temps down a bit... ;) yeah, she's running a little rich at the moment too, but that's 'cos the head gasket's blowing so I've tweaked the tuning a little to stop her overheating... She'll be better for the Rolling road session at Stealth though... 8) I actually had a few problems at Santa pod getting the car upto temp when waiting in the queue for the strip... most other people were pushing their cars down the waiting lane trying to keep 'em cool while I was driving mine trying to get the temps up a bit!
-
yup, with Bix here... you may also want to replace the belt depending on condition... it's only a few quid, so it's well worth doing if the belt is shiney or cracked in appearance... 8)

brakes have stopped working and are smelling really bad

new ones are just under £50 each (exchange) from ECP or GSF If it's seized, then it needs either rebuilding or replacing... -
Had H-YYU since January 2005. Had J-DUB since August 2002. Had my first Corrado (1.8 16V) from June 1998 until Sept 2000 Total Corrado ownership time: 6years 2 months... 8)

it'll definately physically fit, but I have no idea if the gear ratios would be any use to you... :|
-
the VR6 clutch used to be CHEAPER than the G60 one from most places (including GSF and ECP!) IIRC it's now about £2 more expensive than the G60 one but it's still a bit of a no-brainer that you put in a VR6 clutch when you replace the G60 one if it needs doing... ;) I've got a VR6 one in my G60 and it's a straight swap. They're identical in size and fitment, it's just that the damping springs are uprated as are the springs which activate the clutch... 8)

you can buy a flat metal sheet with the vent already in it which you then need to weld into a suitably sized hole in your wing from quite a few places now... The Transporter (VW VAN!) wing vent is one of the more popular and, IMHO, better suited vents to use... they're also reasonably easy to get hold of... Have a look for Pau1's gallery as his green Corrado has a wing vent that's been done VERY well... 8)

...and scared the living crap out of him on the way to his destination... ;)

I'm with Steve, deffo a dead caliper which has seized on and boiled the fluid causing a lack of brakes... Get it sorted ASAP and be VERY careful if you have to drive it anywhere as you may find that it does it again leaving you with no brakes... :| -
very nice... Twin barn doors aren't that common either, very cool too... 8)
-
Jim, well, you know what the brakes were like in J-DUB and that was with the ABS "disabled"... ;) 8)

if it's leaking then it's either loose (tighten it) or it's got a hole in it (replace it) It'll vibrate 'cos it's not very well attached at the back. If you've got rid of the cat from your exhaust, remove the pipe from the exhaust manifold and stick in a bolt with the correct thread instead... problem removed! ;)

My G60 rarely goes over 84degrees oil temp, so if I was waiting for 90+ I'd never get to use her in anger! I wait for the oil temp gauge to register over 55degress before I go over 3K or use more than 1/2 throttle and over about 65 until I cain the living hell out of her! That said, she's not exactly slow under 3K and 1/2 throttle, and I'm normally driving in traffic until she's warmed up, so there's no problem there... 8)
