the rears need weight on them so don't take the rear wheels off unless you put a g clamp or tie wrap the brake compensator thingie down. just behind the rear axle on pas side. did mine a few weeks ago without taking any wheels off just put the front on full lock.

not read the ed38 bit.... but when my current corrado was in for its first service at vw in 1996 something similar happened.... I dropped it off in the morning intending to pick it up later in the day.... I worked in the local town and was visiting a customer on the local industrial estate (using a company car) I spotted mine parked out side a block of flats. on my way back my car flew past me at the traffic lights with a young technician in it..... not pleased I had a few words at vw and a free service.

any idea what chris's lovely motor was selling for.... like to keep an eye on low mileage rado's it had a few more miles on the clock than mine when I spoke to him at stoner a few years ago.

enjot... the salt they put on the roads in winter is worse than taking the c to the seaside.

have you tried putting a g clamp over your brake load compensator. it will increase the fluid flow back up the reservoir. it's on the passenger side of the rear axle. some people tie wrap it down after taking the spring out but I've never been able to do it hence the g clamp suggestion

I'm looking to repair the two butchered electrical plugs that my stereo plugs into, it's for the speakers and main power supply. I could put a new loom in but if I could buy an identical plug cheap from say maplins and the connectors that I could crimp onto the wire it would be easier.... has anyone done it and can supply a link. I guess I want the opposites male / female plug to go on a standard ISO stereo loom supplied with a stereo.

any picture of the stand ???

you have my sympathy.... sometimes garages aren't the best things to have... in the past I've had ladders fall of a wall and even a heavy wood garage door collapse on to cars..... and there's that constant brushing past of the paint work with human traffic in and out the garage.... hope you get it fixed up okay.

If they are suitable for fitting a set of Speedlines on my vr6, (no idea of Thread / Pitch / length or if it's radius type) with out going out in the wet to look) and the socket / bolt patten is not knackered on any of the bolts. I will take them off your hands....

check your wheel sensors.... put a volt metre across them and check their resistance. if you get 4 similar readings they are okay. if one's drastically wrong change it.

I asked a similar Q yesterday and got a bit of a vague answer. I'd be interested in one if the price was lower... say £15 delivered...

you should be able to see / hear when they are fully home it's up to a stop !. if you have the correct size socket to use as a drift you will get a change in sound when it's home. also if you have taken a dimension you will know it's home. I did mine like this last month. very easy to do with the right tools and make sure everything is clean
