Chuggs it's a messy job... Cover the engine with an old blanket or similar. Get as much of the old foam off. When your down to the glue to remove Get yourself a garden spray bottle with white spirit in and spray on the old glue leave for about 10 mins to soak... Get an old credit card or my waitrose card and scrap... Simples. Don't scrap with anything else apart from a credit card...

Resonator between the centre and the cat.... I bought a very expensive oem centre box and rear a few years back that's mint. It's the one that looks like a sausage.

before I get something fabricated up, I'm after an original VR6 silencer in A1 condition or that's going to last 10+ years. Its the silencer after the CAT. I have a new spare walker one but really would like an original or I will get my mate to make one up in stainless. my current one has a bit of rust round the end cans... its not blowing but not really that pretty.... so I guess it must be rust free.... currently obsolete at VW and vw heritage... like most parts these days.

did the cam cover come originally with the painted VR6 DOHC or is it something you have done yourself.... mine is just gold to match the cover.

Today was the day, after 20 years I could resist any longer..... Cut the inner edge of the roof strips off, well they peeled off ran a file down the rubber edge to tidy up and cleaned 20 years of rubbish dirt out. It doesn't look too bad.... Wonder if it's worth putting some silicon along the edge..... Also gave the wing mirrors a good clean... Must take the mirror switch apart it's very intermittent. -

Lego certainly bring some good kits out. The cargo ship is my favourite. Sold out in weeks last Xmas. Kits were selling for silly money on eBay.
