Thanks again David, if it wont whack free today i've got a puller that i made for removing a rear brake drum from a car that i can modify.
-
Yeah, they both clean up really well....there's only a very small patch of rust on the crossmember which i'll rub down and paint..
-
Great vid, amazed at how much of what they said i actually understood.
-
yeah i know......everything i'm doing at the moment is very daunting to me, i dont want to add anything else at the moment.......but i gaining more and more knowledge by doing this so will probably do that at some point in the not so distant future.
-
Keep looking there's been a couple come up on edition 38 forums of the last few months......
-
To get it though an MOT i'm sure that there a few people on here that'll have broken ones (cracked) that they could sell you....... as its the whole unit you'll need the best bet will probably be the dealer....ebay ones usually sell for near the dealer/show price and after market will be the same if not more...
-
nah, that money will be going towards the bodywork.....for the time being anyway
-
With the very kind help of Supercharged we've begun doing various things to the engine while we've got good access.... Water pump and all its particulars have now been changed, Inlets and rocker cover have been sandblasted Rad switch has been changed Buckets of stainless nuts and bolts have replaced standard ones thanks the Supercharged the stainless whore. Fence almost destroyed by Supercharged And lastly (i think) dipstick holder destroyed by Supercharged  Hoped to get a good way to replacing the cam belt but were foiled by a stuck pulley.......... Anyway here are a couple of snaps of our initial progress
-
OK well i am going to hijack this rather than starting another thread titled 16v injectors as i think corrado_16v's question has been answered........ When removing the injectors yesterday the rubber seals on 2 of them got stuck, when they eventually released (almost sending Supercharged through my fence) it left the little silver cap still in the hole, under the rubber seal which was also left in there.......so what do i need to do???? do what toad says?? suggestions on a postcard please.. Oh also thought i'd quickly add that i have got the caps out as i was taking the mani off anyway...
-
You wouldn't believe how excellent your timing is there! You were just about to know another person to have done that....many thanks
-
after speaking to a couple of other people who did this on a KR engine they said that they had to release the crank bolt in the middle of that second pulley......
-
not trying to hijack this but the caps on the end of those injectors, do they just pull off and push onto the new ones?
-
Hi all, Trying to do a cam belt change on my car, we've removed the bolts from the bottom pulley and the first pulley has come away fine...the second one wont though......how is this one supposed to release?? Cheers
-
Cheers Matey. I've ordered it all now! Should be here tomorrow or Thursday ready for some weekend Corrado fun!!
-
Yeah, that would make sense....The first is listed for KR and 9A so would assume that that would be for and early one, the second is listed only for 9A so should be the one i need.
-
Hi all, i'm changing my cam belt and am going to get the tensioner roller as well...looking through ETOS there are 2 different ones for the 9A engine, 051 109 243 and 051 109 243 A...whats the difference?? Cheers
-
Many thanks to Marmite Monster for supplying me with a bonnet and big thanks also to AB for the bargain, excellent condition exhaust! Even bigger thanks for meeting me in Chichester with it.
-
Sounds like something you would use for piles......
-
I use the 3 in 1 stuff, seemed to work very well and was cheap...
-
Yeah, cheers Jim i will be doing that......I'm gonna try and get anything like that sorted now while its off the road and easier access. As well as cleaning up the manifold and throttle body inside and out...
-
Thought I'd add this to my gallery as well for prosperity.... I've been cracking on removing bits so it'll all be ready to bolt on the replacement parts! I'm going to leave the slam panel in place until i get another one! While it's off the road I thought I'd take the opportunity to service parts, change gaskets and clean up the manifold......
-
Starting to quite bad CWS (corrado withdrawal syndrome). It's been made worse by me having to drive round in my old citroen!
-
Why you shouldn't live in the country! Oh Deer!!
