Yeah the pistons dont come out alot its just easier and quicker to do all 4 at once (Im lazy :) )
-
I leave the old pads in and use 2 small lever bars (wider than screwdriver so less cahnce of damaging the disks)to push the pistons back in. If you try pushing one piston or 1 side at a time the other pistons come out so its best to work out a way of doing them all at the same time

You cant remove the factory one, the after market ones fit onto the outside of the beam and assist the factory one.

I see your spending time and money on the daily Dave, I know the feeling the goof's cost me a fortune this month :( drives great now tho. I bet your enjoying some nice K-jet smoothness now :D

I fit alot of Vege engines at work and I havent had any problems, the engine going back in mine is a Vege that I got hold of cheap :D The guides and tensioner are all standard Corrado stuff not mark 4, but it only takes 20 mins to swap to the newer stuff when youve got the engine on the floor.

I thought the storms only had 1 front wiper? or am I wrong? Looks a tidy motor :D
-
The 4ws on preludes turn the opposite way to the fronts at low speed to aid parking, at high speed they turn in the same direction as the fronts but only slightly, this makes the car very stable on motorways etc.

The little ring is one of the locators that clip in the head to locate it when you put it back on , if you look youll notice 2 of the head bolt holes are slightly bigger...it clips in there. There wont be a big break in the head gasket it only has to be a small leak to make alot of smoke, running problems etc. There doesnt look to much wrong with the cylinders either.

Ive had Hondas in the past and they were awesome, not as much charater as a C but great cars... my brother had a 99 integra type R and it was superb. Most people dismiss Hondas because they have either never driven one or driven it for 5 minutes...with the type R's or vtec's once you get used to the rev band etc they are great fun. -

Classic symptoms of the bearings not being greased,I would replace the stub axle coz even if you can get the race off the stub will still be damaged, I might have one knocking around if you need it. -
keep the faith mate itll be making you smile soon enough

I like the idea of a side exit, is it going to point to the pavement so you can gas traffic wardens
