nemesis360 replied to nemesis360's topic in Members Gallery
 I guess the colour is not to everyones taste but its my car so as long as Im happy with it Im sure Ill cope :D The MK4 chain tensioner and guide dont wear out and fall to bits dropping fragments into the engine, so a worthwhile mod all round. -
VR6 Timing Chain Kit - Cheap Supplier From USA
nemesis360 replied to MK1Campaign's topic in Suppliers Forum
There is a little O ring in between the chain cover and the block which seals an oil way for the chain tensioner most people just reuse it, as said above there is no main gasket as such...just use some sealant. -
Looks top notch James, are you planning on going to any shows this year? Id like to have a good look round your setup.
-
Ive not got one myself but I think you ditch the metal work of the original fans, then the Spal mounts with straps that slide through the radiator (Thats how Kenlowe fans mount, I think Spal fans are fitted the same way)
-
Standard offset is ET35 so they will still stick out by 20mm plus any extra width on the wheel
-
At ET13 they will stick out more than standard and if they are wider they will stick out even more so unless your arches are rolled I would think youll have rubbing issues
-
Its worth speaking to Karl actually, His freind runs a garage called Dubunit and the quality of the conversions are superb.
-
I had a good look at that manifold one Sunday and it certainly is a quality peice of kit and as you say itll make things easier :)
-
Quality

Looks like he only got 3 pads lined up properly 1 was resting on the edge of the sill and it slid through the gap, I could do without it though it means Im working on the floor until we get the ramp checked over for safety.

The customer was fine about it, he said s**t happens and he didnt really like the car anyway

For months I have been having arguments with my boss about employing his step son (who is a complete moron with no redeeming features) I was told that I either give him a job or look for a new job myself :bad-words: I told my boss he would regret it but he wouldnt listen...I left for lunch the other day and returned to find this... image003.jpg[/attachment:s2mkcen7] Luckily no one was hurt and he is now fired :D

Ive had 2 golf's in that had cold start issues which were solved by removing the ebay boxes but ive not heard of any major mechanical issues.
-
The ebay boxes do give a noticable power gain but itll keep putting the engine management light on and also bad MPG so Id avoid them. I fit PSI power boxs at work with no problems and excellent performance, but they arent cheap :(

I just cut most of it off with a grinder and in the place I couldnt reach with the grinder, I used a dremmel to grind the spot welds out -

Advice on what to do with a screwed (low miles) VR6 engine..
nemesis360 replied to Jim's topic in Engine Bay
Jim I have fitted alot of VEGE engine's and Ive never experienced any problems, they are the only recon engines that I would recommend unless ive done it myself of course :) In fact the engine that im putting in my car is a vege unit that I fitted for a customer last year and then he smashed the car up :( but I got a cheap engine :D The VEGE VR6's come in at around £1800 and then your got labour to fit etc, but I can give you a hand with that (for free) if you want. -
The g60 box wont fit onto a VR6, the bell housing's are different.
-
I am :) How are you finding it Kev? Mine will be OBD2 when its done and I was looking into the C2 software.
-
 Ouch I think an uprated fuel pump will be on the shopping list
