Didnt cosworth develop the Cosworth YB?

As much as some people dont like to admit it, Fords are generally very good cars. They all handle very well, unfortunately they let themselves down in the engine department 9/10 times. Take a look at the Ford Focus, my mum has one and the handling is tip top, and its been reliable so far, in the handling stakes it dicks all over my rado. I was so impressed to the point where i was considering an ST170. However like i said, the engines are poop. My mum struggles to get 28mpg on the motorway, which is shite in a 3yr old car with 30k on the clock. And the ST170 runs the new Duratec engine, which is built in india, and Burton power suggest forged pistons if you tak it over 190bhp, which is rubbish! After a 20bhp increase the pistons start to give way?!?!? Take a look at a VAG 1.8T in comparison, increase the power by 200bhp and the standard pistons dont mind.

Corrado's are almost being given away at the minute, there is/was a vr6 in the for sale section for like £1700. It would seem that anything that is bigger than a 4 cylinder is a big no no because of petrol worries etc. Although i have heard that prices are supposed to drop because the US & EU have told the big oil companies to increase production

In the search i seem to find spoilers that work as and when they like, or spoilers that only work automatically, or spoilers that only work on the switch. Mine just doesnt work on anything! Bank holiday monday fun i feel with this one! Fingers crossed for a loose wire!
-
Driving to work this morning, spoiler automatically raises. Then when i slowed down it didnt go back down. It wont do it automatically or manual, its just stuck up. Never had a problem with it before in the 2yrs of ownership, so its not an intermittent fault, it just decided to die today. Reckon the motor has just gave up? It might be due to the electrical gremlins i seem to have, they like to leave all my indicators on, or some times the fan.

My gearbox has decided to make a meal out of going into reverse recently, and today i noticed an odd noise. When the engine is running i engage the clutch, put it into gear, then take it back out of gear and disengage the clutch and i get a loud clicking noise coming from under the car. No idea what it is. Does this make sense to anyone else?

This is the method i have been trialing of late, works a treat

love it!

There is no way im moving the steering column or the seat arrangement, i dunno if it just me but once its moved i can never seen to get it back right. Even if i put it back in the exact same place it still doesnt feel like its in the right place. Hate it when my dad drives it and moves the seat!

Thats the kind of garage a corrado deserves. Looks spot on too mate, love these in red (obviously)

If only the Road spec Scirocco looked this good..

Gotta say that capri looks rather tasty. and a 2.5T as standard, mmmm -
Removed for handbrake adjustment, that was around 2 months ago, still havent put it back on as yet I'll bag some pics of the wheel this weekend
-
My new seats are alcantara too, so once your arse hits them you cant slide anywhere as they grab you, so sliding across isn't an option, haha. I did used to hold the steering wheel, but then caught onto the fact that i might end up knackering that too

.......to climbing into a corrado without completely destroying the bolster every time? I just cant seem to manage it, i dont know if the angle of my seat or what but every time i get in and out i just crush the bolster. Any ideas?
-
I originally clocked onto the seats for sale on here around a year ago, but i was beaten to the punch on the sale. Luckily the new owner remembered me when he came to sell, so now they've found their way into my C. There is one small problem with them though, the material is very grippy, so its very difficult to move around in them in jeans, basically once you're sat down there is no fidgitting to get comfy

I now have your interior in the garage, along with my original ones, so i've got a nice collection of seats going. I must admit this car looks a hundred times better after a good wax and polish. It pinks in the usual places if its not properly managed. Get serious pinking on the spoiler and roof if it goes too long without a polish, but then a thorough clean brings it all back up again. I've got some questionable wheels sat in the garage waiting to go on (had the wheels over 18months now) and a set of coilovers and a stainless system is due to be stolen off my mates car within the next month or two, so hopefully it will be looking a little meaner soon

I dont post in this section much, as my valver hasnt changed cosmetically for quite a while, but today its had a clean and my new seats fitted, so i figured i'd share. The seats arrived on Saturday moring, courtesy of corradostuff (Martin). Also, the paintwork on my car isn't the best, but for a red car 18yrs old i think its doin pretty well. And the seats. With it being a standard valver i know its not the most desirable car on here, but any comments are welcome.
