  1. Got the supercharged mat from JustMatz at GTi International a few years back, good quality and lasted with all kinds of crap getting spilt on it. They are shaped for individual VW models. Although can never make my mind up if the 'Supercharged' lettering should be the other way round?! :? They are on 'tinternet' and can deliver, but they are usually at most of the shows to save on postage.
  2. Shawshankkid: Well impressed with those wheel arches and engine bay! Was it just a matter of patience with the wheel arches? Cleaning off all the gunk and re-doing? Also, with the engine bay, did you use de-greaser and steam cleaner or lots of elbow grease? :)
  3. Finally got my finger out and took some pics:- ETKA Corrado.pdfBootFFboxshelf.JPG[/attachment:3cf556qr] With Shelf removed:- stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfBootFFboxminusshelf.JPG[/attachment:3cf556qr] Ordered one of these from my local Halfrauds so I can just whip out the shelf when needed, called a bannana connector for some reason, but cost £20, which I thought was a bit steep for a fancy male/female connector. Its not perfect or show standard, but practical at the moment, as I wanted to keep the bass box, 6x9's, and also to be able to put the back seats in without too much hassle, so all the brackets, bolt holes, weren't removed or filled. Would like to eventually put the bass speaker in a better box to put in the recess between the strut and rear light cluster, such as one by Audioscape but the cost at the moment is out of my budget, so may DIY it at some point. 4. Anyone got a pic of what a C looks like without the plastic tunnel covers? :( Thinking of just getting rid of mine altogether after constant probs with it, I've got a large leather handbrake gaitor to cover up all the handle gubbins, but what other horrors is it hiding? Cheers.
  5. Cheers Neil for the info on the wires and the pics. Never realised the different floorpan layout before the photo's! Let us know how you get on with the strut brace. :) And as boost monkey says, congrats on the spraying.
  6. Going to post some pics up once sorted, as mine nearly done but have been on Hols for a few weeks. Just a quickie:- Neil - How did you tidy up your wires? Where did you put them out of the way? As I've still got a few to the tank, rear washer, etc that make it all look a bit untidy? Also, how did you get on with the rear strut? :?
  7. Apart from the adverts DURING the live race, :censored: , will the coverage on the BBC be as good? Will we get qualifying laps, full live race coverage, highlights programme on the BBC? :?
  8. Am in the middle of this at the moment. :) Stripped out seats, ice, spare wheel, etc. But ended up putting the spare wheel back in, as completely empty the rear stuck up and the car looked odd with the bigger clearance around the rear wheel arches, (C is lowered on 16" rims). :( Would probably make a difference to the fuel consumption if the stripped out race feel didn't encourage you to use the right foot so much and as previous post, it did feel a bit skittish at the back. I am compromising and leaving the rear seats out with a false floor to cover up the spare wheel and some of the ice.
  9. Anyone know the name or where I could get one of the quick release systems for your speaker wires for 6x9's in a rear parcel shelf? :( Seen them previously, just a plastic connector that clicks together for the wires, but makes life alot easier for taking the rear shelf out and not having to bugger about with the wires and terminals. Tried Halfords, Maplins, all the usual places without any luck. Or anyone got any other suggestions for ease of removing the parcel shelf with speaker wires attached? :(
  10. Hello mate, on with this job at the moment, as I'm leaving out the rear seats and putting an amp and CD changer in the space under a false floor. A bit drawn out at the moment waiting for different bits to be delivered. If you use the search there is a few previous posts with hints a tips, especially from Dinkus, (on the ice side of things), & Benkitcher, (whose further along in fitting a false floor, side pods, etc), viewtopic.php?f=19&t=47827&st=0&sk=t&sd=a viewtopic.php?f=6&t=66034&p=767333#p767333 Alternatively the Haynes ICE Manual has a 'how to to' section on doing this in the boot with a false floor, adding a fan, etc. Most of its a bit 'chavy' but not many other alternatives and it does have decent pics. :( Hope this helps.
  11. Thanks for the tips Dinkus. On a tight budget, (charger service on the list for the summer), so have to work with what I've got and also wanting to keep everything simple/standard in case I have to put the rear seats back in. Original idea was to try and use the space created by taking out the rear seat bottoms, either placing the amp/CD Changer under a false floor or raising this area up enough so I could put the 6x9's into the false floor, with the amp in the middle. CD Changer under the seat, although realised it won't fit due to the C's seats sitting so low, so maybe putting this in the space at the back of the rear light clusters, with the box secured at the back of the boot. From your post, does the amp just need space around it or a flow of air to keep it nice and cool? Mate suggested putting a couple of little fans into the design if so. Quite happy getting stuck in with a jigsaw and MDF.
  12. Looking pretty good that mate. :) Had been pondering on whether I would need to keep the parcel shelf for my 6x9's. Also got an amp, CD Changer and bass box to shoe-horn in somewhere. So all this is a great help, especially about the tabs to keep it from moving. Aye, luckily I've got a GT Mountain bike so a quick flick and both wheels are off. Are the speaker enclosures fastened in or did you make then a snug fit to get round this problem?
  13. Day off work, Bentley's manual, spanners, screwdriver and the need for more boot space:- BEFORE 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfBootBefore.JPG[/attachment:2j7i9o27] AFTER BootAfter.JPG[/attachment:2j7i9o27] Garage a bit gloomy so used an inspection lamp attached to the car battery. Not driven the C in a few weeks. Yep, battery flat after my handywork, so still waiting to hear what it sounds like and if bearable?! :( Also struggling to get the top bolts out of the rear seat belt winder mechanism units. So far, Bolts 2 - My knuckles 0. :( Ended up putting the spare wheel back in as my C's arse was sticking up in the air after taking everything out.
  14. Wanting to use my C to cart my mountain bike around but still want to have a decent ICE system, so after advice on how to get this, (amp, 6x9 speakers, CD Multi-Changer & Bass Speaker):- 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfBootIce.JPG[/attachment:20hn66r1] Into the rear of the car after stripping out the back seats, shelf, etc:- BootAfter.JPG[/attachment:20hn66r1] Would like to have a nice flat boot space, so thinking of false floor and somehow installing everything under it? Maybe with the CD Changer under one of the front seats for ease of access. Know this will probably mean having to sacrifice the spare wheel and use the space. Am I better keeping the bass speaker in the box and mounting it somewhere out of the way? Do I need to protect the speakers from the metal body work? Any advice from anyone thats done this and any pics would be a great help! :) PS. Bit of a novice about the best place to put everything for the best sound quality. :(
  15. Looks good from the pics mate. :) Can I pick your brain as you've already done it, got a few questions? Does your mountain bike fit in one go or do you need to remove the wheel or wheels? Is your false floor fastened down to anything? And did you keep the spare wheel? Had the day off work and got this far today:-
  16. Where abouts in Castleford mate? Just down the road and always on the look out for more local VW specialists. Looking for somewhere 'local' that has a bit more experience with Corrado modifications.
  17. Supreme, what did you end up doing? :? Still thinking of doing this, just wondered how hard it is to put a false floor in?
  18. Aye if Brown had said it then fair do's. Just have a problem with Aussies and even more with Americans banging on about freedom, which didn't and still doesn't include the people that are the real indigenous population of either country. AND, I really hate people that still drive while using mobile phones! :D
  19. Think he may be forgetting that if your white your an immigrant in Australia and that the fight for freedom did involve a little bit of slavery and genocide. :?

    Bike carriers

Will a mountain bike fit in the rear of a Corrado with the seats down? Sorry, I'm a lazy git and don't want to take out the amp, sub box, cd changer, tools, spares and then find it wouldn't fit! :D
  21. Cheers for the advice. Looks like the 68mm for reliability then. :)
  22. Planning on getting a new chip and pulley at G-Werks in the Summer but undecided whether to go for a 65 or 68 size pulley. Can anyone shed some light on the real world differences? Can you actually feel the difference between the two options on a G60? The C's got S/S exhaust and had some internal work in its distant past. Also having the charger serviced and ported/polished at the same time. Oh, also a full service to make sure the engines in good enough shape to handle the mods. Advice appreciated. :)
  23. Depends how much you want to spend mate? Did mine at the weekend as the passenger side one was missing. Bought some plasitc sheeting and waterproof tape from DIY shop all in for £5. Would use the doorcard as a rough guide, just so you don't end up putting it back on and finding that your plastic/tape overhangs or sticks out.
