Bought it as well. Usually a good read. One word of warning though, the Scirroco/Corrado bit is V short and could be read in the newsagents. Thought this might be usefull for the Students out there.

Went to my local Halfords for some 'acoustic carpet' for a boot install and asked the sales woman if they did any? Maybe her blank look should have sounded alarm bells. Anyway, ten minutes later after explaining what this was, got to the stage where I said "carpet for the boot of a car", she said "no Halfords don't do anything like that". Visited another store in the area for something else and found they do two different types of acoustic carpet and in two colours! Don't even get me started on when I tried to get a quick release speaker wire plug! :bad-words:

NEW CORRADO FORUM INSURANCE SCHEME VIA CHRIS KNOTT INSURANCE
Jay2 replied to ChrisKnottIns's topic in Insurance
I don't expect your staff to know everything about Corrado's, as mentioned previously, your staff at least know what one is, but maybe a bit more info would be a good idea on your computer system? Had to explain that a G60 has a supercharger and what a 'chip and pulley' modification means. Also, got a better quote from another firm, which you did match in fairness, but obviously as with all insurance companies, why didn't you offer me this to start with? :brickwall: -
Do they also do 'cut & polish' Kip? Got a few scratches and some overspray from a job last year I'd like to get polished out. Beyond elbow grease and scracth X. :(
-
Hello mate. How have you mounted it in the boot to stop it moving around?
-
Bugger, went away for the weekend and forgot to change anything from Silverstone. :( But still managed 9th! :)

One of my C's previous owners has put a leather interior into the G60, not heated and without the Recaro logo's. Had it professionally valated when I first bought it, as the previous owner must have been a bit of a clumsy git, with the amount of stuff spilt everywhere. Anyway, the guy asked me if I knew that the interior was a bit of a mish, mash?! The drivers seat was a different leather to the rest of the interior. He could have been BS'ing me, but the drivers seat on closer inspection doesn't fit into the runners as well as the passenger side. Sorry if I'm adding even more confusion to the problems of buying a leather interior.

Payed for the local mechanics holiday abroad for the last few years. :(

Media kept telling us that houses were overpriced and now they say the prices are plummetting?! But surely this will lead to houses ending up back at more realistic prices? Which in turn leads to more people being able to get on the housing ladder. As again we are told that their are more people wanting to buy a house than there are houses. BUT the banks/building societies have cut back on offers and deals for mortgages because theyv'e made bad financial decisions. Leading to people not being able to buy houses, leading to people being laid off in the building trade, unemployment then rises................. Fuel prices have gone up having a knock on effect on everybody, but this also means the government are raking it in with fuel tax.....................

Hello mate, Bought one of these as well and was a bit stumped when I tried to fit it. :? Took another look at the pic on his site and realised where I was going wrong, bought the gaitor which fits over the actual handle grip as well as the rest of the handbrake. So the only bit not covered by the leather is your button right on the end. Think thats why you may have so much bunching of leather, as I had the same thing. I think this is what he means when he says, "fitted over the plastic trim", the actual handle grip. Mine is still sat in the glovebox. :(

No one could have predicted the top three for that race!

Jay2 replied to coolrado's topic in General Car Chat
As much as I like TG and the benefits of being able to watch it with the Mrs, is it just me BUT do they need new ideas for stuff to do? With this latest series its all getting a bit predictable. -

Advice on fitting my ICE back into a stripped out rear?
Jay2 replied to Jay2's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Roofrack looking like a defo at the moment, as the girlfriend is swapping her Leon for something alot smaller and cheaper to run. So the Corrado is going to be the main luggng machine! -
Anybody know for defo if VW are showing it at GTi this weekend?
-
Yesterday the girlfriend finished work and tried to start her LEON to get home, only to be met with a mass flashing of warning lights on the dashboard. I was stuck at work so she rang the AA. The mechanic guy comes out, has a look round the car, my girlfriend gives him all the details of the car, make, model, etc. He opens the bonnet and has a look round, "ah yes, these diesel SEAT's are a bit prone to electrical shortages". Girlfriend answers, "Erm, actually its petrol". :D

Beginning to think all F1 races should be held in the rain. Tends to create a more equal playing field and shows the men from the boys. :)

Have you started taking an interest in your lawn?

60mph in the middle lane while the inside lane is empty :bad-words: Please note that the Highway Code has been changed so that the outside lane is owned by Merc, Beamer and nowadays Disco Sport and 'Warrior' owners. Using this lane in a 20 year old car will lead to irate owners of the above taking great offence and acting like a-holes. :cuckoo:

Another possible convert to a Scooter for day-to-day stuff. Mates got one for work and mentions at every opportunity how cheap the road tax is and the amount of mileage. Let us know how you get on mate. :D

If you can find one, there is a Buyers Guide in last months Performance Car magazine, with all the good/bad points and all the mods that can be done. Basically praised it as one of the best handling front wheel drive cars?! Oh, and the 1.7 is the best apparently.

After having a few moments with 'sod all' visibility in the dark during the recent downpours with my standard wipers I finally bit the bullet and ordered a set of Lupo Wipers from the local dealers. Got the codes from:- http://www.torquevw.com/how_to_guides/c ... pers.shtml Wasn't sure I could justify the price tag of, 'gulp', just under £100 for two bits of metal and rubber. (Hope the other half doesn't read this). BUT, fitted them today and what a difference! I can actually see through my front windscreen when it rains, even at motorway speeds! :D Now all I have to do is find the leak in the car so that I can now park up in the rain. :(

Reminded me of Stephen Kings 'Christine' ! The C was just jealous. :D
