OBD II is defined as an engine with a post cat lambda sensor.

The front top mounts don't come fitted.

Those H&R's are great and the KONI coilovers give an unbelievable (for coilovers) ride quality.

Ohh you would not believe the things we see. About a month ago I had a G3 VR6 come in with Hicon TX's on that had started leaking on both sides at the front and these were replacements for the originals, all in the space of six months. When the replacements had started leaking I insisted on seeing the install for myself. What they had done was unreal. The special VW machined nut (PR 2E1 systems only) in the middle of the top mount was underneath the top mount and the top mount then bolted down on top of this with one of the two half nuts provided for the engine bay top plate and the top plate only secured by one of the nuts. This meant the top mount did not rotate with the steering so the rotation was made inside the damper and therefore it was lasting weeks, not years. On other cars I have seen dust shields over bump stops that were then fitted upside down, spring plates upside down, camber set positive instead of negative, front springs plates missing altogether with the springs straight into the top mount-you name it, I have seen it done. There are some complete morons out there, some are garages as well. Since including detailed kit specific instructions with every single Weitec kit we send out, warranty problems dropped from being a pain in the butt to virtually zero.

Nothing wrong with competition no, but price wars only end up with a devalued and cheapened product.
-
That’s why I never do an 02A conversion using the Seat Toledo 1/Passat type 35 LHD cable system, its pants and that’s why VW dropped it on the LHD Passat in 1990. Seat continued to use it because it was cheaper. People carrying out conversions do it this way for the same reason as correctly converting to hydraulic operation is quite a lot of work and a pain with the engine in.

I agree and I will match the price (even though as a Weitec/KW distributor you are not supposed to get involved in a price war-hint!!!!) for the Weitec Hicon TX but include full and detailed illustrated instructions on how not to cock it up!

The pump bolts should be tightened up to 20Nm, any more and that will kill the pump. What make of pump was it?
-
The 5 amp is for the electric water pump behind the coil pack, probably a faulty pump as that is very common. I replaced two last week and when they fail, the heater matrix often goes pop!
-
If the relay had gone high resistance, the pump would run slower (less pressure) but the relay would have been getting very hot.
-
Do you know if the conversion was done using a cable or hydraulic mechanism?
-
What torque did you tighten the two M8 13-mm bolts to?
-
Which realy did you change, the one at position 3 or 12?
-
You have probably disturbed some none original wiring to an aftermarket alarm or immobiliser.
-
Was the oil pressure light flashing with the engine running?
-
It is for ducting exhaust heated air into the air box in very cold conditions to prevent injector icing but it rarely gets cold enough in the UK for this to be a problem.

My train of thought was that a VR6 is five stud and can easily go to 312 front discs and there are more out there with dead engines, too many in fact!
-
They are big but will fit with some work but a 6-speed conversion on the 02A is less trouble.
-
You really need VW tools 3192 and 3192/1 to hold the box and selector end still. If you want, I can mail the procedure if you PM me your e-mail address.
-
G60 would be OK as would a VR6 but a VR6 gearbox won't bolt up so you would need a 4cyl 02A box or the donor car box. A VR6 will accept the 312 brakes and VR6's have ABS/EDL as well which is an advantage.

I have the re-facing tool if you want to drag the car to Nottingham.

What Golf is it and what is the engine number?

New "O" ring kits.
