New engine 1.9L Bottom end with forged pistons X-Flow head conversion Charger rebuild SNS No lag Chip Large Intercooler Finally get the Sachs clutch fitted Audi S2 Brakes with new discs and pads all round Re-furb wheels oh and Full restoration of the bodywork Nothing about £5-6K will sort out :lol:

    I stand corrected. Gazza, sounds like you've done your homework on scoobys. You're right bout the smaller turbo, my mate has a WRX and the lag on that is scary! Those 22b's spool up well quick! Someone once told me that the normal impreza engine is a nightmare after 60k miles due to the crank, like you said, being the weak point.
  5. I know what you're saying mate, I spilt up with my gf of 6years about 4 months ago. Only thing is we go to the same nightclubs, feel a touch on the bad side sometimes. Don't worry though all the max power burberry clan will be too busy looking at 1.1 saxo's with huge bodykits and exhaust whistles freshly purchased off ebay :lol:

    22B uses the normal Impreza turbo engine, but it's bored out to 2.2 (hence the 22 bit) I read, that in japan all the motor companies have a gentlemans agreement with the government that max power of a car is no more than 280bhp. But these things are said to be more near 320 :shock: Awesome pieces of kit! And you can't beat the sound of that flat 4!

  8. Yep clean the I/C out. When the charger goes, usually pieces from the scroll fragment and get past through the I/C and up in the inlet and sometimes the head. Sorry to put a bit of a downer on things mate RACK

    Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure bout the plates because I didn't fit it, but the filter on there at the min doesn't have a hex on the bottom, at least I don't think it does? :oops: I'll soon see when I get home. Cheers RACK

    I'm gonna service the car later, just needed to know if a standard G60 oil filter will fit due to me having the sandwhich plate for the oil cooler on there? Cheers RACK
  12. I've just been to get some oil for the car and couldn't believe how cheap it was. Usually I get Quantam Gold, but went for silver this time cos I'm re-building the engine soon. I couldn't get over it only being about a tenner!!! It's usually bout double for the gold stuff! Guess what my baby will be running on for a while :lol:

    Henny, once again you come to my aid! I really need to get my car sorted and get to some shows so I can get you a beer in! Dense air rules! The only part of the winter I love is the cold air for the car! That's a sweet idea with the temp sensor, what's it look like, and where is it usually found? Did it take much to re-locate it?   15. I know this has been covered before, I've tried a search but couldn't find anything on removing the Carbon Canister on a G60, it seemed to be all on the VR6. Anyway, I'm running a Jetex cone filter at the min, but am going back to original air box with K&N panal filter (The induction kit will be coming up for sale, after I get back from holiday, could do with a clean, but I've got a heatshield to go with it, also could be selling Jabba 68mm pulley and chip). Just need a bit of advice on how to go about modding the airbox with the K&N in it for best results? Anyone got any ideas? Cheers ppl RACK
  16. I got my C when I was 20 and it was only an extra £200 more to insure than my Mk1 GTi. There's loads of threads on here bout decent insurance companies. I'm with Perfomance Direct at the min and they're pretty good.

  19. I got it done pretty quick and what a pain in the ass!!! RadoAds, the plate covering the flywheel came off pretty easy and all the bolts were easy to get off too. The gasket paste sealing it was a nightmare!! But with a little work with a hammer and wall paper scraper it came off. Then we found that we couldn't lower the sump enough to get it off so we needed to drop the exhaust a little bit. But due to my luck the down pipe studs were rusted tight, so the hole manifold needed to come off! It took a couple of hours but it was a pain!!!
  20. I might see if I can get hold of some porsche brakes after I get back from my hol. I work in a steel testing lab and across the corridor is our machine shop, I'm sure I could tempt someone to knock up a pair of brackets. If not, I'll be beggin and payin aposegil for his advice :lol: Being the guniepig has some advantages.
  21. Yalan That's what I was thinking, rivets on brakes :shock: and you're right, for an extra £60 I could get the porsche ones, but just thinking how and if they'd fit with 16's? Also I'm waiting for a couple of weeks before I buy anything due to me going on hol in a weeks time. Hopefully aposegil will shed soon light on the situation.
  22. I've just been quoted £100 plus VAT for a pair of S2 calipers does this sound like a good price?
  23. Here's the reply I got back from PG Performance about having to modify the calipers to fit. "Hi John, You have to modify the calliper in such a way that the pads will fit evenly on both sides so that the pads under load press even against the disc. To space out the pads to meet the outer edge of the disc you have to rivet in (made for this application) spacer blocks. And since we are working with brakes one has to use the proper materials. It is a time consuming job and not easy to explain in writing. If you can't do it, send them to us and we will modify and test them for you. Thank you, Paul Sr" Hope it helps RACK
