Didnt realise theres two different types of results for the MFA check to see if your charger is making boost or in vacuum on a g60. Ones VDO ,others Motometer. I though for a long time that my reads were screwed up when they in fact correct just scale is different on the VDO one Learn something new every day.lol

9a 16v new fuel pump etc started but now wont start???

The burnt bits are from the arc of the spark jumping from king lead to cylinder lead points which is normal.every car with a dizzy will have that.... so long as the carbon isnt too deep,and isnt tracking down the dizzy cap it should be fine.if in doubt change cap and rotor arm or clean points up with a file Did you bleed the injectors?crack the high pressure pipes off on the injectors then turn over til fuel comes out at regular rate and tighten up one by one. -
yep,belts are consumable items so they really need to be changed every couple of years. on a different note,youve de-wedged your throttle body.has this affected driveabilty much?im in the process of doing mine but i heard it makes the throttle quite querky?

is the belt the right size?im running standard belt on a 70mm pulley with no problems(maybe little top end belt slip)

i personally wont go with a solid tensioner as they dont adapt to the belt stretching over time,cold mornings,hot summers and any play in bearings.To me theyre more trouble than what theyre worth,VW didnt go to the trouble of designing a tensioner for g60 for nothing. Change the belt for starters,belt could be excessively worn.Then look at the brushes for the alternator,they sound like theyre on theyre last legs. By all means,if the tension damper is leaking oil,replace it.

emulaters to live map is pretty good to have.just means they can adjust the map on the fly(while the car is running) as opposed to taking ecu out,opening it up,insert chip,put it back together,run the car,test it,take ecu out again......etc Much faster and practical. so why they need ur car for a whole day if they have this software?sounds like theyre trying to justify charging you £450 which i think is a rip off. Im not dissing jabba,im just trying to understand why they charge so much?

ive a early g60, early 91 model,doesnt have a sunroof. both g60s i had had the buzzer.... strange you dont alex!!hmmm

sounds like it is slipping,stop the car and put it in third,then try drive away.if it does your clutch is goosed. I changed my clutch only 6 months ago when i put new gearbox on.its a pain,as you have to support the engine to take the box off.i found tilting the engine sideways so the gearbox is nearly touching the ground made it easier to get the box on and off but i have a LHD model.dont know if itll foul the servo on RHD models Ill be going home to drogheda,louth in a week so if your around my area i could help you out!

sound like wires have broken insulation and the feed from the oil pressure cable is sending 12v through the speedo line or earthing to chassis. Does it happen at the same time? or different times? Alex that oil buzzer is the only thing that saved my engine when it dropped the coolant at the nurburgring,didnt notice the coolant light flashing.lol

might get a spal fan to help clearance with g lader or will it be a tight fit with standard fan?

cool,got some pipes and silicone hoses to cut to make it fit and u-bend is next on the list.have an original rsr at the moment i might sell. ive gone for the close as possible to OEM as possible, the boost hose from the u-bend to intercooler is going to cost around 70 euro(still bidding on it) and radiatior is costing about 120 euro brand new. Will the rad have a short hose cas the radi have is 630 mm one(massive aircon one) and hose would be shorter?

that black disc is the auto adjuster for the cutch cable,grease it up a bit but dont touch it unless someone else has and forgot to rewind it if they changed the clutch. I had one on my gti and p1$$ed around with it,never got it quite right again!

Alright fellow welcome to the forum, Can you hear the pump prime? Should prime for two seconds when you turn key to on postion First thing check fuel pump relay,bottom row last on the right and change fuel filter.buy new one theyre the cheapest thing to replace first The fuel pump may have seized after been left for 10 years in moisture when fuel separates.also check the strainer in the tank isnt blocked Check wiring to the pump(after october 1989 fuel pumps are mounted in the fuel tank) sounds silly but is there fuel in the tank?

Hi guys, Got a FMIC from a golf g60 from fleabey in the post last night, tad expensive at 350 euros but its in great condition.No holes with no bent fins and most of paint still on.Also had to change the coolant pipe at bottom of the radiator as a chipshop cowboy connected a shorter hose with a piece of metal pipe that kept sliding off and dumping coolant.D1(k!!!!. Also treated her to a four wheel alignment after renewing every bush on the suspension,she feels alot better with no looseness. we all like that ;) Have to buy new radiator to fit the intercooler in. Anyone know of any problems when putting this intercooler in?this is my daily runner so car cant be off the road too long waiting for parts?

on both 1991 g60s ive had sunken both US and european models.Plus two spare rockers in my shed are sunken. Maybe VW were trying to same money on manufactoring on the later models?

Help!! My valver isn't getting fuel, electrical I think

itll be attached to the fuel lines somewhere.not too sure about the valvers Dont think the cold start injector can run the engine by itself,its a enrichment device only hence used on startup only so if the engine is running it must be injecting fuel. sounds like theres problem with wiring to the fuel pump,have you changed the relay? -

try renew the fuel pump relay,contacts inside could be old and burnt out or check wiring on the fuel pressure cut-off switch. kr or 9a?
