Molybdenum disulfide, anti friction and anti wear compond. you can get it separately in small tube or the oil comes with it in already. My g60 seems to like the stuff, better than lot of oils ive put in but abit more expensive.... 40 euro for 5 litres. Heres a pic of the bottle, along with the overhaul of the suspension bushes and vw even acciendently threw in a pair of normal rado bushes when i order the r32 ones.you can see the difference -

was that the one youtube i seen? it oversteered hit the wall bounced and spun and hit wall on the other side? ---------- Post added at 10:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:12 PM ---------- my oil temp hit 146 degrees before i noticed and oil pressure light was starting to squeek.but shes fine, good thing ive put that liqui moly oil in.Has MOS2 additive in it that probably saved the engine. -
Guys just to confirm,my top mounts on my g60 were busted(bearing wise) but the rubber was intact so they didnt look busted but they were.the rubber was not brilliant and does flex abit when lowering car back onto the ground but nothing like the pictures. I undone the 22mm nut on the strut, took the top cap off, and raised the car to drop the strut(you dont have to undo any other bolts). This is the best way to check the bearings. mine was flapping all over the place giving movement at the top of the strut. New ones on, car is more stable, especially over bumps hope it helps guys

Dizzy retaining bolts loose? had it on my old gti valver caused the same prob and slapped myself for forgetting to tighten them up

Brought the old girl to the ring on saturday and a coolant hose decided to divorce the other half and dropped coolant all over the track.Cost me 116 euros to get it cleaned up! Some biker who was on my ass at the time was lucky he wasnt injured. Might want to check your hoses guys, especially after the winter with weather getting hot.two minute check is better than a recovery truck
-
Guys is there anyone running a dizzy free CDI system.? Im looking at getting a AEM CDI system that uses coil on plug rather than the rubbish dizzy but not forking out for a aftermarket ECU. Any thoughts guys?

http://www.matey-matey.com/g60-guide.shtml There you go mate ,have fun.read about half way down the page gives you mfa readings

where are you checking the voltage at?If you didnt get 12v at the fuel rail your car wont run at all. Check the Ohms across the rail is the best method,I believe you should get around 12-16 ohms per injector. Try look for the usual problems like vacum leaks, wiring breakages,ECU hose is one of the most important hoses, 1m long exactly and makes sure its in good condition.replace it if ends or anywhere feels soft, chances are the rubber is cracked internally.

Be careful guys,When i had the US model g60 it had aircon it blew warm prob out of gas. Then on a long trip from germany to uk the compresser siezed+bearing overheated, collapsed and the car ended up on the back of a tow truck

I asume thats someone throwing a teddy,Nice art-work in the pram though!! hehe

im pretty sure the bell housing is the only difference, all 4 cylinder engine boxes are interchangeable, only vr6 one is different.someone correct me if im wrong.Gears can be put into a VR6 box though. Ive a ASD box on my G60 and gives me the longest gears you can get in 02a box.gears 1-3 gice massive accelartion making the most use of G60 tourqe and long 4-5 gear for motorway use.I would be inclined to say theyd be great in a VR6
-
Early g60s have a cable drive for the tacho, newer ones have sensor on the gearbox. I think hes looking to convert from non electric to electric.I was trying to do this but gave up
-
Nice one Alex, nice to see your still getting all them little niggles sorted.should be a new car by the time your finished!! Still waiting to finish Winter repair over here in Canada and then back to my baby how is gathering dust at the moment.Driving to uk in start of may, wondering is there any events on?Might drive to that DG autotech place yanards keeps going on about, see what they can do for my g60.Mine was not running completely right
-
hi guys, Im going to be doing the Bam conversion when i get back to germany. Is it better to run the drive by wire system, running the throttle pedal from donor car or is it better using a drive by cable system? im getting engine complete with engine loom and ECU,which i think should make it bit more reliable.obviously ill be de-imobilising the ECU but is there any plus points in keeping the pedal, would have thought you need to when using orginal ECU
-
Nothing to worry about guys, its a feature!. It pumps fuel around system to cool the injectors after they get hot after the engine is turned off.mine does it too during summer all the time. Just dont worry about it,i did at first then found out about it
-
liqui moly you mean.its german and is a top brand over there. im pretty sure youd be fine using 10w 60 but it really the kind of oil you use on a hot day around a track not during cold weather.
-
im fitting a oem cruise control kit from my burnt out US g60 onto my europe one when i get back to germany.need one of them vacumn pumps as it got cooked in the fire. Im pretty sure parts from a passat kit will fit a corrado, can anyone confirm this?ive got the ECU,wiring, pedalbox, hoses and stalk just need the pump

Get some loctite studlock on there then torque it up,i guarantee you it wont come loose again. Youll have problems getting it off though if you need to take it of again if you take it off regualurly then use loctite 242.i swear by the stuff.sometimes comes on bolts like flywheel bolts
-
could be the fact that the wires inside are broken and just touching in different angles i had an intermitent fault like that once, bloody hard to find that fault!
-
if you have no resistance on 1-2 then you need new crank sensor
-
pin 3 is just insulator shielding wire If you had reisistance on 1-3 of 2-3 then youd have a problem. so your crank sensor is fine
-
could be open circuit fella, sensor wire could be broken internally. but i would check contacts clean first
-
cold, crunchy second had it on my GTI valver and raddo.both KRs I think 02a boxes are nails and last ages(unless ragged daily).i suppose they only need overhauling when it starts to get crunchy syncros and sloppy bearings but check oil every two years.some people do it every year but i think its overservicing and not needed
