  1. are you sure its bottom end? make sure its not the exhaust rattling or resonating.maybe something on the drivetrain,gearbox or wheels? If your bottom end is wondering youll feel it most under load and throughout the whole rpm range. What mileage has the engine done? KR dont really suffer probs with bottom end as its same engine in the mk2 GTI 16v Any engine will suffer bottom problems if its been ragged all its life Are you sure you didnt just get another dud engine?
  2. sounds like your dizzy timing is out a bit,how did you check the ign timing?
  3. 31 mpg at 80 on the autobahn.dont know about town,but its not good!!! lol bbewekim servicing is upmost important.oil,plugs,dizzy arm+cap some off the basics.Do you mean plugs are cover in oil on the tip or on the outside? if its the tip your bores/rings have seen better days.
  4. i had IH from a rallye in my raddo,only difference i could rememeber was the displacement was bit smaller,i think :scratch: Still when like sh*t off a shovel though and heard somewhere that the block is reineforced but i dont know how true that is As toad said i think it was head bolts from a rallye was needed but a PG head will bolt straight on
  5. Guy ive located geinune 50mm scirocco inlet upper and lower with fuel rail included Price 500 euro how hard are these things to locate?they must be havent seen many.im locating parts to start building my 16vg60
  6. wiggle the ignition barrel,see if its connection starting to loosen. failing that you can just connect the igintion wire to constant feed to get it working
  7. wont bother turning engine off,doesnt do anything.except save fuel.lol the engine revs should drop not rise when you take the BTS off. it does sound like you got a massive vac leak somewhere or... you didnt take the ISV plug off while engine was running didnt you? it screws the drivers in the ECU and will never idle right again
  8. you cant change the hall sender really,its more of a change the whole dizzy job.there is a way to test it with a led but cant remember off the top of my head. the hall sensor is just a trigger mechanicanism for the coil to fire.doesnt have anything to do with idle or timing directly,thats more down to the postion of the dizzy. did you remember to cancel the hot idle function by slowly revving the engine upto 3000 rpm 3 times?

  11. sorry kip i know its a bit late(only had look today) :( hope you ok now I hate uk insurance for this reason,the crap you have to go through to get stuff sorted. over here the major insurance companies your with are the ones that acesses your car,not private ones.they have experts for the type of car and they work in your favour if it is found not to be your fault.they pick the car up,they bring it to a repair centre and they repair it to GERMAN standards(extremely high,every nut,bolt panel,light bulb,seal,sometimes even hoover the whole car!)if part cant be found they sometimes get it custom made! Then they send the bill to the other insurer,you get car back in same/better condition. Unless the car is a write off then they might give you a set value before car was crashed
  12. Remember im in germany mate,i pay german prices which are unbelieveably sometimes especially from a VW stealers the control arm ball joints which i was dreading was only 17.68 euro(per joint) wasnt bad as i thought it would be!
  13. i got the advisery too but at 68 euro PER MOUNT over here in germany,i wont be gettn mine til next month think theres a link somewhere how to do it,youll have to search fourm.easier to remove whole strut because you need to use spring compressor
  14. is it when you drive on a camber or runts in the road? mine does that too. Mines mostly due to top mounts being knackered .but before i had my tracking done my car would pull left all on its own even on falt ground and would follow cambers+runts making it steer all over the place.during the tracking he told me the right hand control arm ball joint was gettn sloppy which i think def wont help. My steering is better but still follows the runts so its down to ball joint and top mounts. Corrados are notoriously fussy about any play in any part of suspension.
  15. sorry mate i was in vw to find out today for you cause i needed to get two for my raddo today but forgot because i got a bit of a shock. Has anyone seen the price of front top mounts recently? 68 euros,i thought thats not too bad for two... erhhh thats for one!!!! :shock: So for two top mounts 138 euro :cuckoo: anyone know of decent replacements for VAG?i want to buy vag but thats well overpriced for a piece of rubber and small bearing
  16. in my experience dont smart answer or annoy cops...be nice to them and theyll be nice to you! I had blue under car lights on,revving engine,slammed golf gti 16v,subs on full and done a burnout when cops were 5 meters from me(didnt realise) clearly not beening a good boy. they stopped me,i turned music off,undercar lights off.they procedded to chew me a new asshole but because i was apologetic and said sorry alot they sent me on my way saying if they caught me doing it again,id have my car crushed.being young,of course i done it again police will be harsh or leaniant depending on how much of an arsehole you are to them!! pure and simple. A good old threat now and again lets them feel like theyre in charge.swallow your pride for five minutes and say sorry.i not on the cops side but it helps to know how they work! dont think they can give you points for anti-socal but can fine you though.just dont revv your engine when cops are around,it attracts unwanted attention Your car can be low as you want so long as it doesnt damage the road surface which IS an offence
  17. can you smell raw fuel from the exhaust after starting? check all air hoses are attached and havent got holes in them. The idle screw rubber sealing ring does perish over time so might be worth replacing. Check condition of dizzy cap and rotor arm,check ht leads it could very well be the fifth injector.since you unplugging it made no change shows you its not working!check the wiring and do a ohms check on the wiring. then check injector itself. had same prob with my mk2 gti turned out to be a loose fifth injector wiring and high resistance(corroded).

I used to hate getting insured in ireland. cost me 2300 a year for a 1.3 hyuandi!!!! ive seen the light and moved!!and got a raddo :lol: what the crack with the price of petrol around dublin-meath these days? going home for a week at christmas,taking car with me!and leaving the wife in germany. :wave: I love my raddo :norty:

CTN or ASD come from 1.9 tdi golf and passat mk3.Dont ask what year.i go by mk's now so much easier than going by year. i got mine in in germany(more expensive :roll: because its a vw :shrug: ) for 150 euro with 60,000 km on the box.had a big dent on the fifth gear plate and got them to knock 20 off the price :norty: between £100 and £300 will get you a good box and depends how much power your putting out standard clutches are fine upto about 210 bhp,limit 220 bhp think you need account to view that link,im gettin f5&*ed off too!!!
  20. If you want a upgrade,why not go with a CTN or ASD box off a mk3 1.9 TDI.tougher than any normal raddo 02a box.Few guys on here have the CTN box. I have the ASD box on my standard g60 with nice long gears They are a direct swap but id keep the orginal shifter tower(very slight differences)
  21. just depends on how much money youve got to burn really.... isnt it guys? at the price of £70 and above for these chargers you might as well buy a new battery than buy these chargers to be honest. Or simply disconnect the battery and buy cheap 2 amp charger and plug it in once a month. price £20 up to you mate..
  22. they are attached on with a round disk type fixings :scratch: . they rust and break off leaving a rattly heat shield. easy and cheap fix.

Fix big 70 tonne tanks and other big diesels. thats why i drive a petrol :lol: finished my advanced aprenticeship last year,all i do now(mostly) is inspect all the vehicles and help train younger lads. whats difference between all this collage stuff? NVQs,advanced aprenticeship,distinctions.i got all these quals and dont have a clue what they mean?

Are you guys ready for german bad driving?think UK is bad? 1) 95% of germans dont know how to use a roundabout(dont have many over here,but theyre building more!!scarey :cuckoo: ) 2) Most use their indicater AFTER they turned!!! whats the point? 3) pulling out at a junction a last second as you doing 45 mph causing your raddo to lock up(my personal favourite hate beening extremely dangerous) 4) for UK guys over here,the wives are worst people for doing it.nearly every single one does it!In german highway code a unmarked junction you give way to the right.ive nearly been t-boned three times,ran into about seven purely because they dont know what theyre doing.they dont even know what theyre doing wrong themsevles!i got out of my car once cause it was sooo close and asked her what she was doing.She said 'im driving straight on SO IVE got Right of way'. showed her the code book(i always carry it in my car,geek i know! :dorky: ) then she bursts into tears crying. 5)Pulling out into fast lane on the autobahn without looking in rear view mirror seening your doing 90 mph and theyre doing 60-70 mph 6)Simple common sense lacking would be a understatement 7)90% are not confident at junctions and distances.waited 13 minutes once,then pulled out from behind him and got onto road the gap was that big without rushing it! Now onto UK 1)TOP of the POPS- tailgating- i was back in the uk for two days and counted 14 people far too close to me when i was driving(as in i can see if you had a shave or not).Watch three of them light theyre tyres up when i gave tap to brakes they were that close.If people want a close up look of my paintwork on my car,im fine with that but not when im doing 70 mph down the motorway!!! why do people think that the closer you get to a car at high speed is going to get them to move or get you home faster? Its also the number one cause of motorway slowdowns.people brake,causes person behind to react quick braking harder,person behind him/her has to emergency brake,stopping the fast lane from moving.and downright dangerous. 2)had five people cut me up on roundabouts,one even looked at me as if i was in the wrong.going straight over the roundabout,doesnt mean go straight over the roundabout when people are on the the thing 3)middle lane hoggers,usually 4x4 drivers.annoying 4)people pull out at roundabouts,who dont have a clue of whos got right of way! 5)people who block roundabouts and turn it into gridlock. 6)people not paying attention to the road,mobile phones,ipods,makeup,satnavs,looking at the kids in the back.thats what the passenger is for!not got one,do it before you set off!! Im not a perfect driver by any means,we all make little mistakes now and then,but there is a growing thrend with people just beening lazy and not giving 100% attention to the road;360 degrees not just in front. heeeewwwhh.... thats a load off my chest
