Injector Rail - Safe to shotblast and powder coat?
dannyboy replied to VR6Pete's topic in Engine Bay
not the best idea i dont think, personal. but might be enough metal on it to shotblast it -
Right....first high speed run put the speedo needle off the clock, second run that i used the camera ended up short because traffic started to get heavy and people just pull out without looking.Bad as it was i did get some speed going though....

turns out all four coil packs had no seal under them hence water getting in.ordered 4 new hitachi coil at 176 euro, expensive little mistake. but she should be running back to full power soon, then time for a full speed run!!!

Thought TSR were good with K-jet systems?obviously its a dying art now cause its so old. only if you deal with these systems on large scale would you make a profit which sad to say because nobody really does.Good old system, but not very tuneable How much you want to spend=how much more bhp or torque you get.You can do lots, but cost is everything.headwork like Porting and three angle valve job increase flow, cams to match,ITBs with electronic injectors and full ecu controlled ignition system. by then your in the thousands so do what i did and weigh the options of 1.8t against stretching tuneablity of a N/A engine.16vs are good, just depends on the money u want to spend.why spend 2000 on a engine to get it to 180 bhp when u can get one that has 180 bhp standard and lots of scope for future upgrades.

Ive got my g60 ones on,they cost a fortune!!!

no,bearings are not sealed but you wil have a difficult time getting grease in the bearings.the bearings and mounts on mine are gone too.front end feels loose under hard barking and turning into corners. After 1 and half years of cobbled stone roads where i live in germany they do take quite a bit of punishment so not really surprised mine are gone. Is it me or is quality dropping rapidly?

Was there red paint on the screws on the case? if their was it means it was never opened before Not sure about the chip pic of it would helpful, but sound like a stock chip as they have two sets of numbers -

Has the ecu been chipped? -
you need to use a timing gun for the dizzy, the rotor arm pointing at cylinder one is just to get rough timing. You need to set the timing on the dizzy dynamicaly.have u checked the dizzy or cap isnt loose?

like the scrap a car sign in the background,

Well after quite a bit of lookn ive found a best priced golf g60 radiator which still isnt cheap at 200 euro but beats paying 310 for classic parts for same thing. its a pain trying to find a radiator thats obsolete especially new but at last found one company that does them....

You need to set the dizzy timing dynamicly and idle settings now once basic settings are done. -
Id say the pressure caused by pluging the line is causing the lifters to overfill with oil causing hydrostatic lock.lifter locks out, camshaft cant turn, belt strips.Have you had a look for problems with the intermidate shaft?

amplified speakers,i have them in my one.theyre heavy for small units
-
Porous holes in the fuel line due to age, gently move hoses while engine is running, youll see tiny holes appear
-
If i were you id find the leak quickly, your raddo will end up like my old one did what engine?
-
where abouts do you live?Im a meath man. Theres a bit on here to help you,one or two guys have done a build, use the search :thumbleft:

Juan use 91,its similar to the 97/98 ron we use have over here. The US models have ecu programmed to use the fuel over there so dont worry too much, just dont use cheap fuel in the summer heat.Engine will pink lot more if engine on load, doesnt have knock sensor to pull timing back. But they are usually rugged engines anyway.

here is my youtube video man

i was thinking that jim, lol!! if it not engine load dependent, got to be suspension or bearings as jim said.Id also look for vibration caused by loose trim,i can play havoc trying to find that annoying noise. Ive got vibration through the chassis, turns out to be the one of the intercooler cushion pads i made has left the building and IC vibrates through the rad support
-
id consider looking at this quickly,or youll end up with an engine fire like i had.lol
