  1. Sounds like it's adopted you for life!! :)
  2. That would be brilliant! :)
  3. Oh yes, I had heard about that before but had completely forgotten. Thanks Eric
  4. Sadly I can't make the AGM this year Kip. Are subs due now?
  5. Looks in lovely condition and sounds like you have good plans for it.
  6. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase! Be sure to start a thread in the members' gallery and post some photos soon :)
  7. No, it's all interesting stuff. Keep the opinions and debate coming!
  8. Same colour as the one I saw. Reg matched the car, T14HON... I remember that dealership name (presumably from my uni days) as I've always thought it's such a great name!
  9. :D Well, from your post it sounds like you're leaning towards the G60, but I'm not convinced that it being a bit leftfield is a good enough reason to pick that variant. Surely Corrados are leftfield anyway? Perhaps you should go for a G60 since you already have a VR, but if you did that then I think the big question is would you look at them both on the drive and wish you could swap the engines over? Just a thought...
  10. Now that I've left my job and returned my company laptop, I need to buy my own. I'm wondering whether a MacBook is worth the extra money or whether to go for something cheaper without the Apple price tag attached to it. My friend is happy with her chromebook for example. I was even wondering if I could make do with just a tablet since I'll mostly be using it for tinterwebs, email, photos etc but I think I'd rather a laptop. Anyway, I know you lot have a good taste in cars so I'm hoping it extends to laptops too and you can give me some expert tried and tested advice. Please? :)
  11. I'd never heard of a Typhon before today! Earlier I parked in front of a TVR I didn't recognise and was about to walk in when the owner wandered back to the car. Thought I'd hang about to hear it start and drive off and as it went by, I saw that it was a Typhon. Quick search on wiki and I discovered that there are only 2 road legal ones, one in Scotland and the other was at Basingstoke Tesco today!! Really wish I'd taken a photo with my rado parked in front of it now! Apparently it was at Wheels Day in Aldershot yesterday. Anyone get a pic? It sounded wonderful by the way :D
  12. Thanks for the photos. I'm feeling a bit poorly so I didn't make it today :(
  13. Made for me too, Wendy!! I've never yet made it to the Festival of Speed. This year might have to be the one...!
  14. My Corrado is my temporary daily so it's filthy at the moment. If I go, it'll be there but sadly just in a car park as I won't have time to clean it before Friday (not that it would necessarily be good enough to get into the main show anyway!)
  15. Haha Jamie, always good to see someone write an almost identical answer! I use Megs Last Touch too. Works really well :) Didn't know the sandwich bag trick so I'll try that next time!
  16. Yep, that's more than fair in my book! I'll keep checking the threads. See you soon! :)
  17. use a clay bar on a clean, dry car but you break a bar into smaller pieces and work one area of your car at a time. Spray a quick detailer or something similar onto the patch you want to work on and then rub the clay bar over the paintwork preferably in different directions over the same area of paint. If it's tough to move the clay then either you're pressing too hard or you haven't used enough quick detailer. It'll remove any tar or other bonded contaminants. You'll see the clay change colour as it cleans the paintwork and so you fold the bar in on itself to reveal a clean part. Eventually you'll need another piece of the original bar though. You'll be amazed by the difference in the paintwork. If you run your hand over a non-clayed area it'll feel really rough, but an area you have done will feel like smooth, clean glass. Definitely recommended and depending on mileage you won't need to do it very often, maybe once a year. I use elitecarcare's own yellow clay but I'm sure there are plenty of good claybars around. I think the Sonus one is supposed to be pretty good. Oh and don't drop it! If you do, use another piece!
  18. Sounds like a very sensible decision to me! Do you intend to keep the meets on weekday evenings or will you move them to weekends when (not if!!) it gets a bit warmer?
  19. I'm planning on going with some friends but if the weather stays like this, I may give it a miss. It was quite a warm day last year!
  20. good luck with this project and good save! Looking forward to seeing how you get on :thumbleft:
  21. Welcome to the forum. Good luck finding a good example. Nice colour choice too!
  22. I was wondering if this would be cancelled because of the weather... Hopefully it'll be warmer next time as I still plan to come along to one of your more southerly meets, Wendy! Be great to catch up with everyone soon.
  23. I'm a massive Porsche fan. Always have been. I worked for Porsche in Reading for years and 996s and 997s were often in for rear main and intermediate oil seals and it's not a quick job, so seeing if this work has been done might not be a bad idea. In fact, they came in so often that I can still remember the warranty codes for that job despite leaving about 7 years ago. Oh dear, how sad... Good luck whatever you decide, and be sure to post some pics if you do buy one :) EDIT: now I've thought about it a bit, it may only have affected 997s... I'll try to remember to look it up tomorrow. It's late, sorry
  24. Finally got a replacement tyre fitted so it's back on the road again. Hurrah! :D
