  1. Looking good so far! I do like Mystic Blue. Look like some nice beasties in the background too!!
  2. Welcome back. Looking forward to seeing pics of your new rado and progress reports! Not sure about a colour similar to Mystic. The closest I can think of is Aqua but that doesn't have the same purple-y tint that Mystic has in some light. Hope it's a good project!
  3. rise from the depths, little thread!! I've managed to collect a few headlights over the years and have finally got around to doing something with them. My plan is to take them all to pieces, clean them and then rebuild 2 with the best parts, but I thought I ought to do something with the reflectors whilst I've got them apart. I've looked at a few different threads but struggling to work out how much benefit there is in spending the best part of £100 getting them resilvered. I thought I'd have a go at cleaning the worst one of the reflectors first to see if I can manage it with removing any of the coating, but assuming I make a pig's ear of it (very likely), how easy is it to get a good finish on them when painting them? I've only ever painted the door handle inserts on my Jetta before and managed a reasonable finish but these look a lot more awkward to me, so any tips would be appreciated.
  4. Welcome to the forum. Any photos of your Storm?
  5. Parked at the tyre place yesterday and a guy said to me (whilst getting into his car) 'I love your car. It looks great. It's a shame I have to go now otherwise I'd have gone down the road with you'. Err... no, you wouldn't! Cheeky sod!
  6. Despite the car's best efforts otherwise, I've been to 2 really good meets in the last 4 days. What a lucky girl I am! I have an alloy with a beading issue (luckily I have 5 RXs and I managed to get a replacement tyre this afternoon), a car which when hot, hunts at idle and then cuts out (luckily it restarted each time when I was stuck in traffic) and a gear selection problem (luckily it's been warm recently and it's barely noticeable when warm). Feeling full of enthusiasm and even have a delivery from elite due tomorrow so hopefully he'll look slightly more presentable at Stanford Hall. That's assuming the aforementioned woes don't get any worse as I don't think I'll get them resolved before then...!
  7. Lovely evening, pub and company, thanks everyone and extra thanks to Wendy for organising... great pub choice!! There was definitely more Cheddar in that Ploughman's than I had realised though... I'm so full! Serves me right for having that orange posset as well!! Only 2 pics and they're not great. (Sorry for cutting off your car in the 2nd photo, Jim but the car next to you was in the way!)
  8. Looking good! My favourite colour and recaros too - very nice! I do agree with Sean about the indicators though, just because I'm not a fan of purple and orange together!!
  9. or buy a whole book of reviews, including the one you're looking for! Downside is that it's black and white. Such a shame... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corrado-Limited-Edition-Premier-Brooklands/dp/1855208296/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366659304&sr=8-1&keywords=vw+corrado
  10. Beading issue so I've collected my spare alloy from my rented garage and got a tyre on order. It's due in tomorrow afternoon, so all being well, I'll be at the meet tomorrow! Hurrah!
  11. Great progress and sounds like you're getting there! Don't give up now!
  12. No, you're right, I couldn't keep away! No prob if you're going to camp but if not, then a convoy would be great. So much more fun with other Cs! I have a bit of work to do before the show I think, not least vacuuming the pepper from my driver's seat - still haven't done it!!
  13. It was a tough one, Wendy! I go to Thruxton each year with an old work friend and some of his mates but he's understanding and has known me plenty long enough to know about my Corrado obsession. I would have missed the show again had it not been the big display but this is a one-off I don't want to miss! There's always next year for Thruxton. I went to BTCC at Brands last year too, so may make that trip again this year!
  14. I'm in now! Couldn't bear to miss out! Rams, Craig, I guess you'll be heading up the A34 so could I meet you at Chieveley svcs just north of Newbury? Be nice to be part of a convoy and I haven't seen a thread for a convoy from the south. Having said that, it might not be one of my best ideas! I won't be able to keep up with you 2...!!
  15. Not sure I'm going to make it :( Discovered I have a flat tyre. It's the 2nd on the same wheel in
  16. What a car to own at such an age! I bought my C when I was 26 and that does enough damage to my bank account so I dread to think what 60 miles a day was costing you! As you say though, at least you've experienced one. There's always time for another!
  17. Beautiful! I'm a big 911 fan, especially 964s and 993s. Don't know how you could sell that!! Love the seats with the piping. I will have a 911 in my life at some point!! Keep up the good work on the C!
  18. Fantastic progress! Wish I had the knowledge to get on with work like this on mine. Any pics of the 911?
  19. I'd have a couple of sets too, if they fit and look original. Thanks for getting the ball rolling.
  20. No, nothing bad at all... it just made me laugh at the ridiculousness of it!! I don't even eat or drink in the car!
  21. Welcome to the forum and welcome back to ownership! Hope you spend many a happy mile in your new VR. Any pics of it?
  22. My drive last night and the Bournemouth/Poole meet today were great and my car is running really well at the moment (probably shouldn't say that out loud!). Moments like these remind me why I don't give up, even when I do manage to tip ground pepper over my freshly vacuumed drivers' seat! Feeling inspired!
