Jim Bowen Corrado VR6 - New engine build
scarlet_vr6 replied to Jim Bowen's topic in Members Gallery
good work and looking good too! Must be very satisfying finishing such a big task, especially with it starting first time! Can't wait to get my 263s fitted, although I'll be paying someone else to fit them... -
Possible corrado script production ,feed back please

I would definitely buy at least 1 of each of the chrome badges, but as Jim said, only if it matched the OEM ones. As for pegs or no pegs, I'd be happy either way. Oh, and assuming they are fairly sensibly priced too. Thanks for looking into this, Rob. I'd be surprised if there isn't much interest. -
Welcome to the forum and Corrado ownership. Hope you enjoy it. Any pics of your new purchase?

What a very civilised afternoon in the sunshine! Good to catch up with a few people.

that's what I thought, especially since he told me he sold the last one because it had broken down and he couldn't afford to repair it!! I was too polite to say anything though...

I've had a few chufties recently... always nice! Collected an old colleague to go for lunch earlier this week and she'd never been in my car before. She was full of praise about the car generally but also genuine surprise at the condition of the interior given its age and mileage. Popped out for a quick pub trip a few nights ago and just before I left, I could see a group of young lads hanging round the front of the pub right by where I'd parked. Made me nervous that the car was going to get damaged but when I left, a few of them wanted to know all about the car and asked me so many questions. One even said that he'd parked next to it so he had an excuse to have a look at it and another said he had a Golf cos he couldn't afford a Corrado... I was surprised they even know what a Corrado is - it isn't often that I meet people that young who do! Finally, I was washing my car today and my fairly new neighbour came over to ask me about it. Turns out he's a VW fan and has owned lots, mostly air cooled stuff including 3 Bays and 2 Beetles. Heard the usual 'I've always wanted a Corrado' line so I asked why he hasn't bought one but he reckons they're too unreliable. He told me that every time he drives up the close, he admires my car! He also had plenty of questions - must have been talking to him for at least 20 minutes! I would still own my Corrado regardless, but moments like these are a lovely bonus of ownership!

I rather stupidly forgot about this show but it's so close to me that I might turn up anyway. I'll see what the weather's like on Sunday morning...!

welcome back Mic... everyone returns in the end, I think! Best of luck with it!

Despite it being a 250 mile round trip for me, all recent major work on my Corrado has been done by DG Autotech. Always been nothing short of delighted with the work done there but it is quite a trek for me, so having spoken to John at Stanford Hall, I will be going to John Mitchell Racing in West Sussex next time. Agree with others that the dealer is useful for parts and discount, but not a chance that they're getting their mitts on my car!

welcome back to ownership! Looks like you've got a great bargain there! Wish mine had such low miles. Good luck with it!

part number for black mats with white 'Corrado' script is 863 VAG 141 8BJ

Welcome to the forum Liam. Lots of very friendly and helpful people here so you're in the right place for inspiration and information. There's a great buyer's guide too when you do get around to buying one. Are you intending to keep your A6 and have the C as a weekend car?

another set of answers for you. I'd love to have my own business so I wish you the very best of luck with it!

First Aid, Triangle and battery surround.
scarlet_vr6 replied to Mark261288's topic in Parts for Sale
I'll definitely have the battery cover, but since Wesleyvr6 asked first, he has first dibs... ---------- Post added at 4:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 4:30 PM ---------- too slow!! -
I've been trawling GolfGTI for a part for my Jetta and came across a rado G60 being broken and advertised there. Thought it might be of interest to some of you... Sounds a bit of a shame to me, but it also sounds like it's in bits already... http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=253414.0 PS. I don't have anything to do with this or know the person involved. Couldn't see a thread about it on here though.

tickets booked! Thanks for posting the info Ben! -
Rather delayed message from me as I went straight from the show to see my cousins and to help them with work yesterday. Anyway, I had a fantastic day so thank you to all the organisers and everyone who attended to make it such a good one. Since my car was off the road last summer and I barely attended any shows the year before either, it feels like such a long time since I've seen some of you and it was great to catch up. As ever, it was also lovely to meet some new people. After seeing so many cracking cars, I'm really feeling enthusiastic about mine and can't wait to get on with a few bits and pieces! Also thought it was lovely that so many people turned up to listen to a few words about Chris Gaskell and raise a glass to him. I do have a few photos from the show but I'm off on holiday now so I'll post them when I'm back! ---------- Post added at 7:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 7:27 PM ---------- Rather delayed message from me as I went straight from the show to see my cousins and to help them with work yesterday.
