I am so sorry to read this. It seems to me that some people are jealous that others own lovely things and they then cause damage because they don't have it themselves. It doesn't seem to occur to them that people work hard to own something they treasure. Whatever the reason, it makes me absolutely furious. Don't give up and let them beat you though. There are still plenty of decent people walking this earth; the vast majority of this forum for a start! Get it repaired and go to some meets/shows, or even just a good drive on a sunny day and remember why owning such a lovely car is worth all the rubbish moments. Good luck.

Thanks Chris. I've never tried using a glaze before but I will def give this one a go now that I have a direct recommendation! sorry for hijacking your thread, Michael.

I agree with Chris. There will still be rados around in a few years so come back to them at a more convenient time

Welcome to the forum, James. Plenty of information and helpful, friendly people here. Have a look at the buyer's guide - great advice including VR specific tips. http://wiki.the-corrado.net/the_corrado_buying_guide_checklist.html

haha Chris, I didn't mean it that way though  I'm hoping to be in a position to afford a respray and get all the rust sorted reasonably soon and I want to find decent products and test them (and practice applying them) on the old paint first. I'll have to test C5 when I place my next order. (Name makes me shudder though - worst car I've ever driven!) Happily chat about it all at Nat Day, although I know that there are many more knowledgeable people on this forum!!

I've bought some Gtechniq C4. I've used it on the Jetta and it did a really good job at the time, but I don't know whether it's lasted well as it's been at the garage and bodyshop for months! I hope to have time to use it on the C before Stanford and will report back later about longevity... Incidentally, I have also bought some C6 Matte Dash cleaner (also hope to have tested this before Stanford) and some P1 Polish which I think did a great job and is by far the easiest polish I have ever used. If the other 2 are as good as the polish, I'll be very happy indeed!

Welcome back and good luck finding your next rado!

anyone recommend anywhere to get numberplates?
scarlet_vr6 replied to holeinmk1's topic in Suppliers Forum
my current pressed plates are from Framptons but the white part is peeling from the front plate now, hence I was thinking of trying somewhere else. I've had them for about 5 years I think and received good service when I bought them. I remember they arrived very quickly. -
Thanks for the birthday wishes and nice car and photo comments, guys! I've been messing around with the camera again today - attempts at more arty ones with the cherry blossom tree in full bloom in the background but they didn't work very well. Chris, I have absolutely no idea what went in... whatever the garage uses! Is there something I should have asked for? Oh I'm such a novice!!

yes, I would like to have plates with the original font too but I assumed that only the new style would be supplied nowadays. Hope I'm wrong! -

think Dubmeister are supposed to be pretty good. I'm about to get another set and was going to use them but I'll now wait and see who else is recommended on this thread! http://www.dubmeister.co.uk/webshop/uk-legal-pressed-metal-plates/ -
Thanks Ben! Just looked at that first photo again and the ride height looks terrible... look at that arch gap! Definitely need to practice composition!

Kit car show sounds interesting! Hope you'll be posting some pics... Enjoy the sunny driving and I look forward to catching up at Castle Combe

Really glad to see the car in the hands of someone who is going to look after it. Amazing how much difference a few hours work can make! Sounds like you have many plans for this one, so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. Good work! Also, I laughed at your wonderful description of the collapsing centre console... in sympathy rather than nastiness, because my car occasionally spits a screw from god knows where and I invariably find it roaming the passenger footwell. A few have taken temporary residence in the ashtray when I haven't had time to work out where they should live! -
Really?!! You didn't buy one?!! I think I would've ended up with at least 2 copies, (one to look at and one to keep immaculate!) if it was mine! Back issue? Great to hear that you're as full of enthusiasm for the car as ever and making great progress. All the blood, sweat and tears are always worth it in the end, especially on a good drive on a sunny day... shades on, windows down, roof open, spoiler up, engine singing!! Yep, I'll def be at the Nat Day (always with the caveat of nothing breaking in the mean time!) and also going to Stanford on Sunday. Will you be there?

What a great day yesterday was! It was my birthday and my Corrado gave me a great present... I took it to the garage to get the clutch problem resolved and it didn't cost a fortune for once!! It had pretty much sorted itself out by the time I arrived at the garage a couple of miles away; I left my house only able to select 4th and 5th and by the time I arrived, I had all gears back. I decided it was wise to let them check it over anyway, esp since I need the car to get me to the airport next week, and a fluid change later and the gear change is super smooth! 2 out of 3 issues crossed off since my last post! With some contributions, I decided to treat myself to a D-SLR for my birthday (for those of you interested, I chose a Canon 650D with 18-55mm and 55-250mm lenses) and since it was such a glorious day, it would have been rude not to pop out and take a couple of pics of my C. I was very short of time though, so I had the camera firmly in auto... Now all I need to do is improve my composition and learn how to use all the different settings and features properly. Preferably before Stanford Hall!!

Wow, you have been busy Chris, good work! Nice about the PVW pic too (didn't know about that til now) and not trivial at all. I think that's awesome :) How many copies did you buy?!!
