presumably those would be the perfect ones for Trimsport or whoever to copy... just a thought for whoever is lucky enough to see the advert first!

haha, I thought you were being really pedantic Sean! My comment still stands about a luminous pink Corrado though, so what colour is it happyeaster? -

unsure if I've missed something or you're just commenting on my colloquial use of 'brilliant'... Either way, I don't like the sound of a luminous pink Corrado, so I hope not!! :) -
Thanks for the lovely comments above. Fantastic day at Castle Combe for the CCGB National Day and 25th Anniversary celebration a few days ago. Lovely to catch up with some friends and meet some new people too. The 3 parade laps were great and I followed them with a couple of track sessions with the instructor which were brilliant fun, as always. Think I've slightly broken my car though; the noise on full lock is horrendous, the slight idle issue is now appalling and the car cuts out from time to time. Good thing there is an imminent garage trip, but the list of work has grown. Completely worth it to roar around the track for a while, however! A couple of photos on track, courtesy of CrazyDave (thanks Dave, love the pics, esp the first one!) and I felt I ought to photograph one of my tyres just before leaving...

25th Anniversary National Day - Castle Combe

I've enjoyed looking through the photos on this thread. I took very few this year, but here are the better ones... -

This is brilliant! So you lived without a Corrado for what... 2 days?!! Welcome back! Hope you enjoy your VR. Photos please! -
Mine is in desperate need of a decent set too! I wonder how many people would want a set and if a group buy would be possible if someone could fabricate them? Side strips would be good too, esp the door ones which seem to fade terribly.

Car looked lovely at Castle Combe and I'm glad it's found a good home too. I expect you're very happy with this purchase and how nice to have 2 Corrados at the same time! -
25th Anniversary National Day - Castle Combe
scarlet_vr6 replied to vornwend's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Delayed post from me as I spent the rest of the weekend in Lyme Regis with my family and internet access in the cottage was not the best... First of all, a huge thanks to everyone who was involved in the organisation. I had an absolutely fantastic day - my favourite National Day so far! I have thoroughly enjoyed all the meets at Castle Combe but, as ever, there just weren't enough hours in the day! So many people who I saw too briefly, or not at all, although I did catch up with a good few friends and hopefully I have made some new ones too. I had intended on going for a wander round the track to watch some of the other cars there, but didn't manage it (haven't found time for that on any of my Castle Combe visits yet - next time, perhaps!), nor did I find time to queue to see the photographer, so I too will be emailing him. I also realised a little too late that I hadn't voted for my favourite Corrado, in fact I barely looked around the cars, but congratulations to those with trophies. Typing this has made me wonder if I talk too much?!! I would also like to say many thanks to Ben, Mic and Charlie for helping me fit that stereo. I was beginning to wish I hadn't taken the old one out but I really appreciated being able to play CDs on the way back to Lyme! Hehe, NA VR6, BMC and Magnex goodness!! Thank you very much for this and your comments just after we were on track, Adrian - they really made my day! Chufties are always great, but mean so much more when they're from another member! It's true that I only caught you because I had the instructor with me! No problem Matty and glad you think so, as when you were driving, I was beginning to worry that I had bullied you into going on track with the instructor! I completely agree about having more confidence when he is there and I would definitely be slower on track on my own! Count me in Wendy! I'd love to go to Le Mans and what better way to get there?!! Brilliant! All we need next time is an aircraft circling overhead for aerial photographs!! -
Car looks good and as everyone else has said, the wheels are great. I have the same on mine - def my favourite wheel for a Corrado!

Welcome to the forum Gracie. Hope you manage to sort the insurance out so you can drive him again soon. Have you tried any of the insurers who advertise on here? There is a separate Insurance section.

thanks easypops. I'll take that as well then please Ben. I'm not fussed about what it is, I'm just after a cheap CD player for a while as mine has stopped working! -

Assuming it looks like the FK one, I'll have the badgeless grille please Ben. I'll be there tomorrow too. Might be interested in the Pioneer unit but obviously easypops has first dibs. -
Definitely interesting to read some different opinions and some have made me reconsider my own. As for these 2 comments (quoted and therefore now a little out of context), I can see what is meant and I agree to an extent, but I'm perhaps a little more lenient! It makes me sad to see the way some Corrados have ended up, but if they are owned by a forum member, it's almost always because someone has 'saved' one. The horrors seem to appear on here as a link from another website. Judging the standard of a car and the owner's plans for it based solely on a show like Stanford Hall just doesn't sit well with me. I'm sure there are plenty of people who are willing to admit that their car is a work in progress, myself included, but still want to attend shows in the meantime! The fact that a car is on the stand tells me a lot. I suppose my opinion is swayed by my own situation. Mine is definitely one of the ones bringing the average down and I really wish I'd bought a better example but this is the one I have and over time, I would like to think it will improve. So far, the money spent on the cosmetic side of things has been extremely limited (my RXs being the only real outlay and they were a bargain), but I'm in no rush. Even if you look at the engine bay (yes, I'll readily admit I am very guilty of not having cleaned this up over the 8 years I've owned the car - slap on the wrists for that!), there is little on show for my money; no turbo or SC lurking under the bonnet for example, but I have spent a lot on the car. A more-than-cursory glance would reveal suspension and handling upgrades and there are other things where the time, effort and money might not be so easily spotted. Unfortunately, the appearance of my car doesn't invite a more-than-cursory glance. I don't have the tools or the confidence to work on my car, and I most certainly don't have the knowledge but I am another who isn't put off owning an older car in the slightest by this. Why should I let this stop me enjoying such a wonderful car? I am happy to give a good garage some work, and there was a time when it felt like DG Autotech was my C's second home (a 240-mile round trip). Had I spent this money on the exterior and merely keeping it on the road, I would now own an outwardly beautiful car, but instead I have chosen to do things the other way round and own a beautifully handling Corrado first. Expenditure on the bodywork will happen in time... Many of us will lose a fair sum through Corrado ownership but I think that is indicative of an enthusiast. Someone who will spend money painting, fixing and upgrading, regardless. Someone who will enjoy owning and driving their car, despite its flaws. Someone who smiles at the knowledge that they own such a great car whether it's home is a garage, a driveway or just the road. The fair sum doesn't seem such a loss when you get so much in return.

Too busy driving it to take photos of it?!! Welcome to ownership, hope you're enjoying it!

would you consider a corrado a classic turned away at car show
scarlet_vr6 replied to ross k's topic in Off-topic Chat
jobsworth on the gate I reckon. You could interpret the description from their website to fit... it's an 80s model, even if yours happens to have been made and registered in the early 90s... Shame, but I'm glad you hadn't travelled for hours to get there. I agree with others that the Corrado is a modern classic, especially now there are so few about but a fair number of those are in the hands of enthusiasts. -
I caught a very brief glimpse of what I think was a bordeaux pearl C near Duxford about 11am today. 2 in a couple of days and not in my rado either time. I wasn't even driving today :(

4 FREE Goodwood Festival of Speed tickets
scarlet_vr6 replied to scarlet_vr6's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
What a shame :( I posted on fb about them too as I was very keen for someone to be able to use them, but nobody could collect them in time unfortunately. Very disappointed that I couldn't make use of them either! -
Hello to M456***, a green, very low looking C spotted on A415 on the outskirts of Abingdon about 4pm today. First one I've seen in absolutely ages and I was driving my Dad's nondescript silver Passat... typical!

I went to the Moving Motor Show at Goodwood yesterday (fantastic day - was even interviewed and filmed by VW on their stand!) and in the pub afterwards, I managed to blag 4 complimentary tickets for today (Friday). Unfortunately, I've realised I can't make it so I have 4 free tickets to give away. I know it's extremely short notice, but I hope that somebody can use them. It would be such a shame for them to go to waste. You'll need to be in Basingstoke around 9.15am to collect them from me.
