Doesn't stop them from trying to make a fortune on parts though :(
-
...due to the background I assume 8) Feeling too lazy today to carry buckets of water around so I made a start on the interior instead. I finally got around to trying the Megs Interior Detailer I bought months ago. It doesn't remove marks particularly well but it's given the dash etc a much fresher look, I wouldn't say 'as new' but it certainly doesn't seem as aged now. It was pretty effective on the heater control surround though which was looking very tired and grey. I did take a couple of before and after pix but they don't show what I mean very well.. The main problem I find with giving the car a bit of tlc like that, is that I find more and more things I want to sort. Anytime I go near the thing, the to do list just gets longer and longer :(

that paint is looking spot on -
I wouldn't know where to start! What would I need and what's the process?
-
summed up perfectly :salute:
-
yeah would be great to do that and get everything perfect. Space, time, money, knowledge and a daily needed in my case lol

I've seen you spending Michael's money on his thread before and now you're trying to spend mine  You're right though, they look like a bargain. Doesn't say what size they are so I will wait to see what the reply is as someone else has asked. Interested though but payday isn't til next week... How much do you reckon it would cost to get them refurbed (not bothered about polished)? thanks Karl, good find!

very sad to see this and on such a nice looking one too. Hope you can get this all sorted out -
that and the Irwins  thank you

valver's looking good Tom, sorry to hear that the VR is a bit sick though

Its all good fun, isn't it! The amusing thing is that, for sheer number of nuts and bolts, there are more holding the parcel shelf support bits on than the actual shocks themselves! yeah I noticed that Jim, it amused me too!

Luky Girl!! Im loving the Cayman, so in proportion & purposful looking...... 'rado still looks tidy next to all those pricey porkers though!! 8)[/quote:1klpqq22] thanks! The Cayman is good. I was very impressed and I def see it as a mini 911 rather than a better Boxster. I drove Boxsters and a Cayman on that training day and much preferred the Cayman. Quick rado update too... as well as an oil and filter change yesterday, the NSR shock absorber was changed. It was beyond leaking, disgraceful really  but now a step closer to passing the MOT in a few weeks. I had a lot of help with the shock absorber, in fact I only removed the parcel-shelf-mount-trim-thing (technical name lol), but I'm learning. Slowly.... :D

Here, here. :D a meet is def needed soon... :D I know UD is only a few weekends away but we should have a meet before the show season really kicks in!! although I am going to the Ox meet on the 2nd....

Karl, thanks so much for the link. They do look good but think I want to stick with 17s. I'm not bothered about the comfort improving on 16s - my rado is already so much more comfy than either of my old cars (Polo and Scirocco) and it's not often I drive for more than an hour at a time anyway. I'm getting very tempted to sort out my RCs. When I got the TDs, I much preferred them but I'm sure that was because of the condition and colour. My RCs came kerbed all the way round (chunks out of them not just grazes) and they're a sort of beige/champagne colour. They are so damaged that I'm not sure if they can be repaired, I need to take them somewhere to be assessed really. Apparently my split one was beyond repair, but I might have been a bit gullible about that. Whether I was or not doesn't matter, I no longer have it, so would need to buy a 4th and Bill, I don't blame you, I wouldn't want to sell either if I had a 5th! Cazza, yes it will be dropped one day. When I can afford it. Hmm.. wonder what year that will be........

yes please, pm would be fine. I know what you mean - I delayed starting a thread for mine for so long cos I'm a little ashamed of the condition but already it's inspiring me to get some more stuff done! what's yours at the garage for? Nothing too major I hope..

 Thanks everyone who has mentioned the colour. When I was buying, I had decided it had to be a VR6 and it had to be blackberry. I'd seen a couple around in that colour and just loved it. I would have liked a Storm but (I'm almost ashamed to admit..) the colour was more important to me! I like the way it shines when the sun's on it, sometimes it looks a pinky-purple, sometimes a blue-purple and I like the way it can look really moody in the half-light. As for the background, well I worked at the Reading dealership for a few years. In fact, it was thanks to Zippy that I found the forum. He joined the company, saw my rado in the car park and tracked me down! I'm a big Porsche fan too and was lucky enough to be at the company when the Cayman was launched so I got a free track day as part of the product training! I've also been out in a Carrera GT, what an experience that was... 8)

wow, I'm chuffed to have so many replies so quickly! 8) I know that I'm posting on the Corrado Forum so I'm talking to the right audience but mine is hardly a lovely example  Michael, thanks for the encouragement and I know you're right.. boost monkey, I agree - how boring to have a standard car that you're completely happy with! Would be nice to have a car that was mechanically sound though, so I could spend the money on 'improvements' lol ADZ_VR6, do you have pics you could post of yours on the 2 diff sets please? I'd be interested to compare them. I have seen both before and know both look v good but think it's the 225s I prefer. My rocco was a scala too but had leather as an option. It was a J plate and helios blue (not black like everyone thought) and the leather was blue too. I really liked driving it but then my first car was a 1l Polo. The rocco seemed so fast! The worst bit about driving it was parking - I always swore it would be easier to carry it into a parking space than drive it. My rado is my 1st car with power steering and I love it. I don't think it's too light, like a fair few more modern cars I've driven. Shame you had to give your rocco back but it seems to have left an impression! I think if I bought another one now, it would have to be a mk1.

Just joined, cos my other half has just got another Corrado

Welcome. Looks nice and good to hear that another is in safe hands... -
do I miss the rocco?? ummm..... yes and no. Given the choice of 1 or t'other, I'll stick with what I've got! I see the rocco (mk1 and mk2) as being cool in the same way as mk1 and 2 golfs are, but the rado is so much more refined, not to mention the power, handling, comfort etc etc etc.............. I would love to have a rocco again but not at the expense of my C. It would have to be part of a fleet of cars!! My rocco did have leather tho, which my rado is lacking. If I could have kept it, I would. It only sold for £150 cos of the accident damage down the side (not sure if the girl who hit me was insured so I got cash and didn't get round to repairing it before I got the rado). Unfortunately I had nowhere to leave it and when I came back from only 2 weeks away, there was a note on the windscreen telling me not to leave old bangers lying around - the cheek of it! I was furious, it's not like it was blocking someone's drive or on their property! What was your rocco like? I like the middle left style, simple (and easy to clean lol). Also quite like bottom left but I wouldn't buy anything until I'd looked for other rados with the same on, done photoshops etc. It's not always easy to know what will look gd. Tbh, I think I'll get the car lowered and a few other things done before I change the wheels, unless there was a bargain to be had somewhere  I also still have 3 RCs so I'm tempted to see if they can be refurbed and try to track down a 4th... audi wheels.jpg[/attachment:2w8a16wk]

hmmm... time isn't so much my problem, lack of money and knowledge is more like it! Even though mine is far from how I'd like, I can't imagine having any other car as my only one
-
lol, when I collected the car, the guy I bought it from said it was a good thing I'd decided to buy since it's such a girlie colour... Yes, I will be at the Ox meet so see you there
