Good to hear mate. You've put so much effort into that car it'd be a shame to sell

Do you know what time someone will be there from Eric? Or how long, roughly, it takes to go round the museum? -

I'm also hoping to be there relatively early as I missed actually going around the museum last year. Do we need a sticker for entry again? -
Not sure if this is of interest to people but just had an email from Halfords about a flash sale today on their website from 12-2pm This is an additional 10% off everything, including items already on sale, and if you do click and collect I believe you only have to make the order between those times to get the discount and you can collect it later and pay the sale price.

Completely agree. I'm in no way advocating loads of stretch, I'm happy with mine as a compromise for the looks. But looking at the OP's pics in the first post, and thinking about this further, the cutting is occurring on the edge of the actual tread rather than the sidewall. Reducing the tyre to a 205 section is going to move that cutting into the sidewall itself and he's going to an even worse (read dangerous) effect. I'm going to say the only option is to change the wheels for something with less poke or sort the arches.
-
Don't think the stretch is the issue. I'm running 17x8's with a 205 tyre and it's completely fine even though it's a fair bit of stretch. It's the cutting done by the arch. One particularly big bump and it'll cut through. If you're worried about getting the arches pulled or rolled, you can always get a decent bodyshop to cut off the excess lip and reseal the arch. That's what I've got on mine. I'll get a pic for you later if I get chance.

I have a BMC to fit on mine but need to relocate the battery. Having had mine on VAGCOM running for the last couple of weeks I'd say definitely don't let it just sit in the engine bay sucking in hot air. My adaption values go rocketing upwards as the intake temps increase, and even once on the move the temps never drop that far to be honest. Can easily sit at 35deg+ even once moving. It's on my urgent jobs list!
