Not to offend the owner but I saw it in the flesh at Santa Pod and it's pretty weak, much nicer C's about all over the place. Think Max Power liked the pink but I couldn't see it ever getting in PVW
-
Top one's definitely for a VR as I have one

I'm in the middle of putting together the same kit with 312mm discs on porsche calipers, I'm buying everything brand new (had a bit of a touch with the calipers) and it's going to come in a fair bit cheaper I'd say source it all through ebay/pistonheads/mk4 golf forum

How good a guide is the Bentley Manual?
bananawhip replied to TheWizardofOdds's topic in General Car Chat
I just annoy everyone on this forum instead, unbelievable amount of knowledge on here -
Karl they look awesome! If mine turn out like that I'll be happy

Cheers for that, just checked Ballys build thread and it's perfect, pretty much just how I want mine. Looks very similer to my car already. So I'm thinking Audi Daytona Grey in a satin finish, (R8 below is obviously gloss) with chrome centres but black BBS badges off ebay...see below 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfdaytona-grey_carbon.jpg[/attachment:3j0gwzpw] caps.jpg[/attachment:3j0gwzpw] Thanks for everyones input, KADVR6 it would be great to see that pic with the carbon bonnet too.. Tom don't worry mate it'll look mean alright, fixed the oil leak and definately making full boost now so it's nearly ready to make it's debut, just the RC's and Porsche calipers to sort out

As long as you have a decent tool kit, axle stands, and you'd probably need the correct clutch alignment tool then I cant see it being to hard. Once you've got under it and taken the drives shafts off the diff as long as you can see/get to all the gearbox bolts easy enough then it should be a walk in the park. I'm no Aygo expert though so everything I've just said might be completely wrong :)

See thats exactly what's making it such a hard decision, I love black wheels and it would match the bonnet (kind of) but they are absolutely everywhere! As for the shadow chrome, It is indeed a very cool colour but I don't want them to look like I robbed them straight of an Anni, I'm thinking something in between the 2 colours Thanks for the suggestions so far
-
Right, A mate of mine works in a bodyshop and is respraying my RC's to any colour I want... Car's aqua blue with a carbon fibre bonnet, thinking I want the wheels to match the bonnet, anybody recommend a nice colour... I'm currently set on Audi's Daytona Grey pearl effect in a gloss finish, that going to look cool or poo? I'm not definitely set on Grey though, Suggestions please...

That makes me feel better as mine is a bit of a replica of yours, if I'm honest my heart sank when I first heard it, then when it warmed up I gunned it down a dual carriageway and instantly felt a lot better

Dunno, I thought it was just 'Rados but I could be wrong. Be handy if they did as it's an extra place to look for a second hand one if needed
-
Last time I checked they we're about £40 each, you will only need one though as the others easy to get off. I destroyed my oem cam trying to get the sprocket off, in the end I got another 2nd hand set and took the sprocket off the inlet cam. I'd have a nice new trigger sensor and sprocket waiting to go on if I we're you, make fitting and refitting if you ever sell so much easier. No part numbers though I'm afraid as vagcat is also my savior

Yeah good point, They've got 174bhp SLC's over there, 2.9 really is a rare beast
-
2.9 was scrappily thrown together just for the Corrado, every other 12v VR6 block on the planet is 2.8 so it's a common mistake. When you correct them don't forget to remind them yours has an extra 16bhp :)
-
Ha, I love it, that's my kind of diagnosis My passengers sweaty palms will verify it's making boost so I suppose all is good :)

Right I've got another question which will probably make me sound like a spanner but here goes... My install is obviously completely finished now, it's a v9 with 2000miles on it, looks to visually be in good condition. I know it's getting oil to it but at around between 1000-1300 rpm the charger makes a bit of a funny ringing type sound. It's sounds a bit like metal rubbing on metal but it could also be air passing through it, it's a very strange little chirpy noise but it's worrying me as it was a diy install. It's a completely seperate sound to the expected whine. Can anyone clear this up as a trait of a v9 or is it something to worry about?

I can't say I ever experience any real understeer in mine, unless I induce it with a big load of right foot! :) Lift-off oversteer caught me out when I changed from a valver which probably weighs about upfront as a g60, VR does pendulum a bit more but it's easily controlled and loads of fun. Tractions good with weight over the front wheels too If weight is that much of a concern then you can easily save 10kg by popping a LW battery in I'd say R32 for the win

Does a Corrado bonnet fit inside a Corrado boot?
bananawhip replied to C. Will Corrado G60 2's topic in General Car Chat
Gotta concur, Tried it and annoyingly won't fit no matter how you mess around with the seating -
Anybody know what these are called? I promised my mate I'd help find out Also for sale if anyone's interested, but they are Jap fitment just to warn you. BBS.jpg[/attachment:pqb8506w]

Sorry to hear that mate, Don't understand why it's going to cost you much at all though? You're OBD2 now so a replacement low milage engine won't cost more then about £300 and they're 10 a penny, If your staying 2.9 then factor in a longer wait for a good one and £200 quid more. If you're that bothered about losing a bit of power then while it's off just chuck a LW flywheel in with the money you've saved going 2.8, less stress on the drivetrain and I'd imagine it helps remove the flat spot before the V9 joins in later in the rev range. 10 hours fitting time, obviously not including if you get a rebuild while it's out but don't see why that's essential if it's low milage and you're staying around 300bhp Job done!

Just get European breakdown cover for the period you're away, probably cost around £50 That's what I do when I go to the 'Ring and it definitely makes me feel more confident
-
Thanks Kev, I'll give it a go

Anybody know of a good way of checking if my V9's getting oil to it? Is it a case of cracking open the top pipe and turning it over with a rag under it? Took the pipe off today and nothing came out but it has been sitting for 12hours, was a bit too scared to turn it over so any suggestions are welcome :)

    I had no idea they were anything like that much money Beetle with an R32 engine and massive body kit, one born every minute I suppose
-
All getting a bit max power for me these days... Ford Focus with a big body kit :brickwall: What ever happened to clean lines, If I was looking for something to spend 35k on it wouldn't be a hatchback with a blue oval on the bonnet
