Sounds like a good result, VR's don't seem to suffer too badly from missing horses by the looks of it. What ron petrol was that using out of interest?

Would I be correct then in thinking this is a later version?... charger.jpg[/attachment:rq9maoa3]

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between the mark 1 and mark 2 Vortech V-9? I was under the impression one is better then the other for various reasons?

I bought a mk3 Golf off eBay the other day, had 160k but thought my girlfriend could run about it for a year, picked it up, misfired the 1 mile drive home, took the plugs out to find #3 covered in oil, put it back on ebay that night :)

Big injectors on a standard engine...advice please
bananawhip replied to bananawhip's topic in Engine Bay
Thanks for the good advice as usual Kev, I'll keep an eye on it and if it's overfuelling I'll try popping in a 3 bar reg just to bring it down a bit. Only needs to be a short term fix. No doubt I'll be asking a few more questions when the Charger arrives but for now that clears things up a bit :) -
Big injectors on a standard engine...advice please
bananawhip replied to bananawhip's topic in Engine Bay
They're whichever ones you get in a stage 2 Vortech set-up, not sure what the cc is. I've still got my 263's and some other bits fitted so I'm sure a little extra fuel won't be the end of the world. That last bit about the MAF made me go a bit cross eyed if I'm honest Kev, a bit above my skillset I think. When I fit the Charger I'm fitting the MAF upstream of it so I was under the impression it didn't need any modification. I have been reading your VR6 FI everyday for about a week now just to get my head around it all :) -
I've got my inlet manifold off at the moment, so I thought now might be a good time to pop in the red-top injectors I'll need for my stage 2 charger I'll be fitting in the near future, how will it run? Will it overfuel because the injectors are bigger or will the ECU still tell it to deliver the same amount of fuel regardless? Just plan on running like this for maybe up to a month Any advice as always would be great

Other then the DG option does anyone know a place to get a good spacer from, I know 6mm washers will do the trick but I wanted something neater and the extended bolts too if anyone knows... The DG one would be perfect except the shield is no good to me as I'm fitting 4 pots

Would you promise to love me forever if I bring my coilpack with me when I come down next week? It's nearly new and would quickly help you test if yours was knackered -

There's a difference between early and late standard lights isn't there? You're still running an early front end Tom so I think you need to check, I might be wrong though -

Get the OEM headlights back on you absolute chief! Looking good though, I want your Keskins, swops for my speedlines without tyres and a photo of my mum? Cool to see it get back up to such a wicked standard though after it's fall from grace, you've surpassed yourself Mr.Bell :) Next step.....CAMS!!!!! -
That's exactly right, Golf has 1 take off Rado has 2, That's the only difference I personally think power rohr's get a lot of stick, they look nice, sound nice, and even if they only make 1bhp then it's still the same value as a lot of other mods, plastic is for fisher price toys, it has no place in an engine bay :)

When you get to the Autobahn the sign to let you know it's deristricted is a white circle with 3 black lines through it. Don't gun it before you see it, but when you do drop a cog and nail it as everyone else bloody will :)

Ah, a crashed X5...Now I can see where BMW got the styling from for the bloody horrible X6

Sod messing about, just take either borrow some headlights of a fellow C owner for the retest, or take it to a different tester and bung them a drink
-
Not too sure to be honest, I use Champion EON plugs cos I get them cheap and Red Beru leads, I'm sure they'll be more then up to the job Your VR seems to be getting a complete overhaul, get some pics up when you get a chance
-
Hi mate, I'm the dude that bought your Speedlines, good to see you making progress on the VR You need the 95 onwards pads as the pre 95 pads were for the 280mm set up

Was planning on a bit of a stretch on the back so those tyres were in line for the bin anyway, that's all good news though Thanks for yet more sterling advice, Big fat Porsche wheels here I come
-
Does anyone know what the deal is with running 17" 8.5j Rear Porsche wheels on a C? Et55 I think so with 20mm adapters I'd be about spot on to standard, just worried that with the massive 255 tyres they'd be rubbing on all sorts, anybody managed to run rear Porsche wheels with minimal work or am I better to buy 4 fronts to make life easier?

Don't get me started on that one, I'm desperate to put her in a valver but she thinks Rado's are just plain stupid and unreliable money pits...No idea where she got that impression :D I'll keep an eye open for any subtle differences and replace as I go, thanks for the heads up
