Question about mk3 Golfs, cos this forum knows all!
bananawhip replied to bananawhip's topic in Drivetrain
See that's exactly what I'm talking about, this really is one hell of a forum Thanks for the advice, My girlfriends Golf is getting slammed! -
Rather then mess about asking the primadonnas on ED38 I thought I'd post here as somebody is bound to know... Will lowering springs from a 1997 golf gti fit my girlfriends 1995 golf 1.4? Sorry it's not rado related
-
will 14" alloys fit over my 1.8 16v breaks ??????
bananawhip replied to garwood08's topic in General Car Chat
Steering wheel won't fit as Rado's have the later spline, late Golf mk2's onwards fit Wheels should fit, I ran 14" BBS on my 16v for a while -
"A new Corrado" :epicfail: Does look like a nice cheap alternative to an A5 though, If they slapped the R36 in it then that would be pretty cool
-
I fitted red stuff last year for the couple of trips I did to the 'Ring and they were faultless, got them from a company called CRN along with there own 288mm multi-groove discs, they're always open to talking about price and I wouldn't go anywhere else

2011 corrado forum calendar *feeler* anyone interested?
bananawhip replied to Chris's topic in General Car Chat
I'd buy one, I'd submit a photo or 2 as well Think a nice little A4 job would look the part -
That's some very very impressive times, best part of 1000 laps between you, I'm guessing that's thanks to an annual pass or thats one hell of an expensive hobby :) Shame about the bike on the hot lap, funny how they have a habit of getting in the way, don't think they expect to be so much slower then the cars when they get there and all too often the let pride get in the way of just putting the indicator on :brickwall: That's gotta help a lot, looks like you're getting good traction too from the vid, I just couldn't get my R888's warm enough Cool vids though, love the Lotus Cortina at Donnie

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, that is class, that driver needs to be shot in the face for that display of inability
-
Absolutely wicked car, definately my cup of tea, I love track stuff Good result on the quarter, I've got 236bhp going through R888's and the best I've managed is 14.5, your's must be a right rocket I know it's a no no but have you managed to time any laps around the northloop? Interested to see what you get round in

Still A VR, just a 24v, if it weren't a VR you'd have one of the banks poking out the front grill :)
-
:D 2ltr 8v Corrado for economy, swop the humped rear bench for a flat one, fit another seat belt, drop it on BBS LM's...job done
-
Thanks everyone for confirming it, that is definitely the look I'm going for, now just a case of making one or buying one?
-
I thought they only got round to making the early ones? Are they still trading? Thier website seems to be down and i don't have a number for them
-
Ha, I like it though it looks good, think I'm going to give it a crack myself
-
Now that is perfect, exactly what I'm after. Did you make a round mount bit in the vent like the SWG ones' or just cut it and put the gauge in?
-
I remember the met old bill using Golf VR's back in the day, that was pretty cool of them Everytime I see an R32 I'm like a bull to a red rag, after reading this thread I think I'll take a better look at the car before dropping a few cogs and gunning it :)

Anyone got any pics of a nice gauge pod for a late interior, I really want something that looks OEM for a single 52mm gauge I'll be fitting. I know the VDO centre dials are an obvious choice but other then those whats about? SWG heater pod would be ideal but I'm pretty sure they never bothered making the later varient. Any suggestions?
-
It's not good... I'm sure if you slap a good amount of decent 99 ron petrol in with it you'll get away with it, I'm sure that's not the text book answer though
-
All looking good, loving the new wheels, thought you were a bit mad getting rid of the reps but the RC's look a bit more proper if that makes any sense Very jealous of the centre dials, hard to fit? were'd you get 'em?
-
Umm, ok, yeah.... Of course it is physically impossible to replace the cheap mass produced steering wheel (of which none of them are designed solely for the Corrado's interior, they're just thrown in as a matter of ease and budget) for an item that someone may take the time and effort to choose and spend good money on, to compliment their interior to what they see as perfection ...not entirely sure I'd sum up everyone with an aftermarket wheel as "failing"
-
Yeah I'm waiting for that surprise, as I'm scrimping on buying an LSD I've gone from having no traction in the wet or dry to at least having it in the dry, roundabouts on a rainy day should be eventful though

I'm going to contact my local registery office to see if it's legal to marry a tyre... I had a puncture recently so whilst getting it sorted I thought I'd throw my R888's on the front which I've only ever used for 1/4 mile runs. Oh my God! Even just on the front the grip is verging on comedy, Leaving my house and taking the sweeping bend on to the M25 has never been so much fun My little demon in my head that keeps telling me to buy a cheap VW Sharan VR6 (purely as a fun car just to embarress boy racers), strip it out, drop it 60mm, fit Schimmels, and now it wants me to add R888's into the equation :)

Awesome link, I watched all 11 minutes with a smile on my face. Big fan of the little Renault 5 Turbo 2 churping away at around 2 mins 52 Every single human that drove a Group B at full pace deserve a medal, so do half the spectators too!

Oh my god thats a bad interior, always look longingly at Quattros when they drive by but never realised the inside looked like a retirement home, all the more reason for buckets and a cage :)
