Is doing this to a C bad? Now with additional pictures
kerrly replied to Peebee's topic in General Car Chat
I am not sure about that one, the problem is to me it looks like another of these "show " cars that rolls on 9 or 10 inch wide wheels that look practically egg shaped once they have some horrendously stretched tyres fitted to them. like the rear splitter though, works really well and the arches look like they have been on steroids! -
Stopped by police for being too low....
kerrly replied to Fulltimejunglist's topic in General Car Chat
I thought everyone knew about the police attitude test, the crucial first few seconds when the officer determines if you are a decent person who can hold conversation or if they are going to be dealing with some wound up moron. If the OP has started to kick off and winge about there being no law on how low he can be blah blah when the officer has decided that in his opinion the car is too low and has evidence eg chewed tyres to suggest there is a safety aspect here then take it like a man an raise the car or sort it. If there is genuinely nothing wrong with the car and the wheels/tyres fit fine then it could be the officer having a bad day or trying to get you for something because they heard/saw you speeding but had no proof. Id say on 90% of the times i have dealt with police after being pulled the officers have been professional and treated me fairly given the circumstances but in the past I was forced to make a complaint about an officer as he was acting well out of order - he had a servere case of small man syndrome  dave -
Wont turn over just clicking. Does this fusebox need earthin
kerrly replied to Powells's topic in Engine Bay
have you checked that you are getting 12v to the starter motor trigger wire from the fuse box with the original ignition switch an new one? As it is a 20vt conversion, what ECU set up are you using, could it be the factory immobaliser playing up? dave -
haha have any of you seen the SOTW thread on Pistonheads.... some equally funny comments in there. My dad had a montego estate on demo and the only positive thing about it was the rear seats in the boot which as i kid i thought were cool but im so glad he got a cavalier SRI130 instead, a much better car. dave

Camera phone doesnt deal with the odd lighting conditions caused by the sun was setting but reasonably happy with it.

here it is with it current BBS RZ wheels, they are a shadow chrome so look dark with only have a slight sparkle to them. On Friday the car was treated to a full wash wax an polish as part of my efforts to ensure my paint survives the winter but by the time id taken these pics id covered 350miles. Hopefully tomorrow i can scan in the high res pics i took + the pre respray pictures with the white wing mirrors lol The sun was just starting to set so there were some rather unusual lighting conditions..

I see the ICE collection is being formed... Those VIBE boxes are stupidly bassy, a mate used to have the twin 12s with matching vibe amps and managed to crack the rear window on his car way before max volume was reached. Have to agree with Ratta an say that a car being used no matter what it looks like is better than having a half stripped shell sat in a garage doing nothing. crack on mate, really keen to see what kind of crazy enclosure you make to fit everything in! dave

things i dont think have already been mentioned. 1) People who speed up when you begin overtaking them 2) People who think they can use the INSIDE lane of a roundabout and exit and the THIRD exit 3) People who use the inside lane when it is for LEFT turn only and then try and drag race to jump in front of people wanting to go striaght on dave

oh dear god that is bad. the thing that made me chuckle was one of the sponsored links under the video was for Specsavers, that driver could definatly do with having their eyes tested, i could park better blindfolded. dave

TDI - WICKED IDEA. So this going to be the basis for the massive ICE project you spoke about at Edition.... i cant wait to see this :salute:

so how long was the car off the road? if you prime the pump a few times and it starts sounding lazy it makes me think your battery has had it. try a different battery, you really need min of 12v to fire the engine
-
is yorus a 2.0L or 1.8? cant really tell from the pic but WTF is going on with your ISV - in the pic its the black pot with a white connector - that isnt like any ISV i have ever seen!

quick question.. which camshafts are you using? are they the stock 9a? Have you considered swapping to KR or ABF cams as a cheap upgrade.. the KR cams in my 9A got me nearly 10hp and the power at 5-7k felt much more aggressive.

Likewise i didnt expect to see another corrado coming toward me, id literally just overtaken a couple of cars and was winding the charger down as i past you hehe. As for the plate that was because i removed it whilst at Edition38 and havent got around to putting it back on, it actually fits perfectly between the edge of the windscreen and the rear view mirror and plod hasnt given me any grief over it. I know about the dubpound lot, they have a meet in the forest and we invited some of them along to the Mk2 Golf owners club meet at the Toby Carvery at Over but some of them got a bit funny about it - club politics  dave
-
COOL AS! ive been thinking of making a table using a BBS alloy as the base but the V8 is faaaaaaaaaaar more impressive! dave
-
Awesome!! i have 3 or 4 of these in the garage and was going to try and fit one. ENgine bay looks beautiful :salute: dave

-
good looking corrado, lovely colour. had a mk2 golf in the helios, arent the different blue tones stunning in the right light. dave
-
Looking good esp the new interior -you can get leather restorer kits from furniture shops which work really well and would make those look good as new. BTW that autotesting track looked like loads of fun! is it a regular event? dave
-
OMG i have never seen a corrado on 3 spokes- proper blast from the past those!

Is the car based in Stroud? if so i saw a green VR6 parked up near the Peugeot garage a few weeks back and had a little look around and noticed a pool of water/coolant underneith it. My suspicion on a VR is top radiator hose of crack pipe both of which can be quite expensive plus you dont know how long he has been driving it with low coolant or pure water mix.
