I have a couple of Machine Mart cheapy stands and they've taken everything I've put on them without complaint, including a V6 TDI which weighs about 200Kg! A 16V will be fine on any of them ;)

I have some 16" Fox Racing multispokey things which, while a bit scruffy, are dirty cheap and have two good 205/45-16 tyres on :) Stolen pic, but same as these: £20 if you want 'em, pickup from Exeter, Manchester or Leeds.

If you have a pre-93 interior you will also need the switch and wiring from the roof panel as it is different for the 93> and mk3 motor. I have the motor, switch and wiring for £20 delivered if you want it? You will need a 93> roof panel as well, but I don't have one of those. You can fit it in to your early panel, but there will be a hole from the old switch.

Ending today bump. If stuff doesn't sell its going in the skip!

TPS have a promotion on service items until the end of August. Genuine stuff is so cheap its not worth bothering with aftermarket. An oil filter for my A6 was £3 and the air filter was £6. Some TPS branches won't deal with the public, but most will. Worth giving your local one a call :)

The mk3 one is closer to the Corrado than the mk2 tbh. As said the mk2 is missing the extra legs on the back, but it also doesn't have the locating C-pieces for the control arm rear bush, so the geometry will be all screwed up when you put it back together. The mk2 has a little sleeve that goes inside the bush to locate the arm, and you don't want to be messing with those cos they are a pita. Also, most mk2 frames will be just as rusty or worse by now! If you use the mk3 one then you need to shorten the legs at the back and drill two new holes, but thats easy enough. You also need the rear engine mount and bracket from a 4-cylinder 1.8, 2.0 or TDI which will replace the Corrado one. You can also use a Corrado VR6 subframe with the mk3 Golf rear mount and bracket if thats an easier combo to find.

B5 A4s with 280mm discs also use the same carriers, which will work with your 16V calipers.

Bump for more stuff added

Added a bunch more stuff tonight. Some of it is crap tbh, but I don't want to throw Corrado parts away without giving people the opportunity to rescue some of it ;)
-
Hi all, Having a clearout of Corrado stuff, most of it starting at 99p: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/mikkijayne/m.html?_trksid=p4340.l2562 I'll be adding loads more over the next week, so keep watching my items for sale :) Anything that doesn't sell goes in the skip! Mikki

Led backlit Heater Control panels for late Corrados
mikkijayne replied to RadoVirgin's topic in Group Buy Feelers
Absolutely. Yeah, raw materials are cheap enough. What about Dirk's time taken to perfect the design? Or assemble them? Or pack them up and ship them out? Is that free? No. How about tooling setup costs? Ever heard of intellectual property? Posting his pics here then calling him a joker is disgusting :( -
Any mk3 subframe will work. You just need to trim the rear legs down and drill two new holes where it bolts to the floorpan behind the arb mounts.

I would report it to the phone company as harrassment, and possibly the police too. Tell him that, and say you will only communicate further in writing. He'll soon get the message that you aren't going to give in. Is he local or a safe distance away?
-
Yes. Private sale = sold as seen = tough. Don't waste any more time communicating with him.

Thats entirely dependent on the tyre itself IMO. I've got some 205 40 17 Kumho KU31s and they ride nicer than 195 50 15 Eagle F1s. The KU31 has a much softer sidewall than the Eagle F1, so handling isn't quite as sharp, but it rides nicely and looks great :)

225 35 17 :D I have 245 30 on the back of the V8 ;)

The Corrado was going to be the mk3 Scirocco (you can see it badged as that in some early design photos), but then VW went a bit mad and made it too complicated and expensive and then sold it alongside the mk2 Scirocco for some reason. It bombed compared to its cheaper contemporaries and was thus consigned to the annals of VW history. They will never bring back the Corrado name because it wasn't (in motor industry terms) a success. The Scirocco, however, was a success and the new ones are (at least in part) targeted at the people who remember the mk1 Scirocco from their youth and can now afford a brand new 'sports coupe'.

Did this on one of mine a while back. The rust was so bad I had to replace the whole outer skin of the A-pillar from door hinge to roof :(
-
Have you checked the fluid level and belt tension? They are prime candidates for a screeching pump :cat:
-
Much the same tbh - somewhere around 250lb/ft. Its faster and handles better though because of the weight reduction :)

Because the 2.5 V6 TDI is a useless boat-anchor with all the durability of a snowball in summer! The 2.5 ate its own valvetrain and was going to cost £3-4K to repair, so I threw it in the bin and put a tuned 1.9 in instead which cost me £300 :D I have about the same power output, get 10mpg more, saved 100Kg, and cut maintenance costs by 75%! Its like going from a VR6 to a big turbo 1.8T :cat:
-
Just checked my A6 2.5 TDI Quattro 6-speed, and there are only 241! Thats rarer than the Corrado Mine's even rarer, since I transplanted a 1.9 in to it :D

Very badly machined cheese! I have some Topran hubs and they are utter garbage. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Never used a bending tool in my life! Go slow and careful and do little bits at a time and you can do 2" radius bends by hand :)
