How old is it? Bascially check for rust inside the tailgate and fuel filler. 8v's are guttless so dont expect to much performance. Just the usual like electrics, heater controls etc should be working. They are fairly heavy so check suspensions, mounts. The 8v is an easy engine to work on. From memory the first of the cars were not so well made and they used crap paint.

Anybody used this stuff? Ive been told its better than the other stuff has it has the metallic effect. Can you get it from Halfords? Do you need a primer and lacquer as well?
-
Anybody done this to thier G60 BBS wheels or seen it done? I am refurbing a set of these and was thinking along the same lines although I would probably go for a dark grey as on my steels.

I poured hot water on the back of the trim to soften the sticky strip. Worked at treat but I am sure there are other ways.

Not a clue who's it is but the guy at the Knockhill track day with the short number plate. I think it was a Storm and was very rapid and sounded amazing. I prefer to see them used and abused than polished and on show.

Rather have a Mk2 VR than a 1.8T Mk2.

I totally understand the idea behind this as the new VW diesel engines are fantastic. I have used one for a week but as soon i jumped back into my old Golf I knew I couldnt do such a conversion. I would only do it if I were doing 500+miles a week.

Im going to have to agree. The garage where I bought my first Golf from had a racing R5 Turbo with a shallow, wide, side exit exhaust and it looked great.

You certainly dont mess about.

I hate selling cars. Always a pain in the arse. Autotrader has never worked for any of the cars I have tried to sell. The best for me is local city newspapers and a local free ads paper. Good luck BTW.

Do all Corrado's have the heated mirrors?

To Debadge or not debadge - THAT is the question

7 slat here as well. I didnt like them either but I like it now. -
I'm guessing 30mm. Best wheel I have ever had is the one from my old G60. The three prong leather one. Its been on all my cars since. Its 360mm by the way and it cuts of the temp warning light.

I should have bought those wheels when I was looking at them. They look great!
-
Well I had to get my brothers last month and due to other factors I didnt manage to get it until the 6th or 7th. Nobody said a thing.
-
I looked at these wheels at the start of the year. Wasnt sure if 15's would look ok but they look great!! Whats the ET? 25?
-
For a 16v. Dont pay near that.

That sod and his law have a lot to answer for!! Bad luck. Nowt else to say. Hindsight is probably the cruelest thing on earth. Dont worry there is always somebody else out there having a worse day.

I'm not getting the steelly thing. :? To me, looks like someones nicked your wheels. That car would look really nice on Sebrings. Dont like Sebrings at all, they weigh twice as much as the steels. As i said earlier the car is my everyday transport and the bike gets all the money. I would love to have wheels like yourself but cannot justify spending that much. If I bend one its only £30 to replace! I did this as there seems to be a lot of people with G60 steels at the moments so these are just a little different. Ideally I would have a set of Compo 8x16" TH2 on it. -
Too late. See memeber gallery.

I was bored so I thought I would do something I have talked about for a while. All in all it cost me £10.50 for the paint and two evenings. I actually quite like it. Any thoughts? p.s. why does your car never look as low in photos as it is in person.
