  1. Ahhhh the rolling hills of Lincolnshire.....;) Car looks good.
  2. As said don't get hung up on the mileage, history is more important. I would argue that anything with low mileage hasn't been used a lot and these cars don't like sitting around. That's the main reason mine is for sale, in fact take a look at mine and see what you can get for your money. Best to leave at least £1k regardless of what car you buy for snagging issues.
  3. I should know this but can the idle speed be raised on these? Could be a temporary measure to help against stalling whilst you replace everything. To be honest there seems a lot of stuff wrong with the car when you got it, stuff that is just down to lack of proper care and maintenance by previous owner as none of it is that bad. It just so happens you are having to fix it all at once that's the bad thing.
  4. Lol, if my car does sell and I was looking to replace at some point Id thought about a 944.
  5. Well done, some impressive work going on.
  6. I might be going to that but I'll be taking the RS to it. It's a decent day, as you say some nice other motors on show.
  7. Thanks. I had a 300mile round road trip in the car over the last couple of days and car ran fine. Thought I'd change my mind but sadly not, might not have much choice anyway as not one bit of interest in the car.
  8. For sale add now up. Any questions fire away.
  9. Main thing to check with them is coilpacks, check any vacuum hoses as well. Theres a plastic corrugated hose (think it was a breather hose near front right, you need toi take engine cover off) at the front of the that had cracked on ours Skoda (same engine) and it was low on power, wouldn't rev etc. Best thing is fault code read to start with.
  10. Corrado VR6 - Satin silver Okay here goes. Ive had this for 3.5 years, longest Ive had a car by a long way. Its the 7th Corrado Ive owned so I know these things like the back of my hand. Im selling as I don't get time to use it and to be honest I think I need a proper break from them hence why all my spares will be potentially included in the sale. When I bought it I deliberately looked out a standard car so I know it hadn't been messed with. Im the 3rd owner and have a large file of history with the car including original service book etc. Car is satin silver, 143k miles. I bought the car on about 136k miles and swapped the spark plugs, thermostat housing, thermostat, crack pipe and all the other plastic housing in that area. I also cleaned out around the fuel cap and coated the underneath of the car with POR15 sealent. I have fitted the following to the car: AP Coilovers Schimmel 263 cams with Stealth mapped ECU. (original ECU is available). Checked chain tensioner and it had very little wear (photos to prove) uprated front engine mount (have rear mount to fit as well) Baffled sump newer cloth interior original mats 288mm front brakes with DS2500 pads new front flexis and front hard lines. 2.5in exhaust system (decat front section will come with it but CAT still fitted). Nice sound and doesn't drone. 16in TT wheels with good Michelin PS3 tyres. Clear headlight cover early 16v brake ducts. Overall the car has been very reliable and given me some real fun but I want to see it used. Thread below: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=58289 Naturally its an old car so there are some issues. The rear wash wipe doesn't put out any water, this hasn't bothered me as you don't really need it on a Corrado. The heater are direction dial doesn't work, I have spare to fit but its sitting in a medium position so direct air to all vents and works fine. The paintwork is okay in general but there are areas where its not perfect. There are a few very small dents on rear panel, drivers door had some bubbling on bottom so I sanded back treated and sprayed over to seal. Both front wings are showing signs of rust but I have two rust free spares (in blue). Rear bumper has some very small paint bubbles most likely from using a car cover. Driver side sill has a small dent underneath as well, its just cosmetic and has been there since I bought the car. Windscreen has a small chip/crack on passenger side but has been like that for 2 years and never increased in size. Tracking needs done to make it perfect as it pull very slightly to the left. Probably a few other little things but cant think right now. Just want to be totally honest up front. Spares I have for the car that I can remember are: 3 wings - 2 are blue, rolled and sealed with no rust, 1 is green and rusty. two spare steering wheels genuine OE sills repairs some spare headlights original suspension original exhaust - will need sleeved to refit. full set of hard brake lines from ABS block back - these are to OE spec and cost me a couple of hundred. Full set of powerflex replacement purple bushes. Schroth harness' that use original seatbelt clips - drivers and passengers spare front engine crossmember new fuel filter Scroth 4 point harness that uses existing seatbelt clips. Other bits and little spares, probably some other bits Ive forgotten about. MOT is due around end of May, its needed next to nothing last couple. You can check MOT history. Car will be available from next weekend, please ask any questions as Im sure Ive forgotten something. Car is in Kintore beside Aberdeen and I have no problem collecting people from train station or Aberdeen airport. Price wise I was looking at ?2650 for the car and if you take all the spares ?3000. I will sell spares but not until car sells. Photos are a selection and show overall condition. Ive sanded, de-ox gelled and painted the lower sill piece of this wing to stop it getting worse. It looks worse than it is, still solid at the bottom. 11. Ask him how you would disconnect it as well please or at least so the car wouldn't be immobilized.
  12. Has anyone removed or at least "disconnected" the Cobra alarm that was fitted to some of these cars? Had an issue last year with it and bought some new fobs and synced them which fixed it but car did the same today and Im just wanting to remove it. Car must know Im trying to sell it!!
  13. Hi, have you tried syncing the fob with the car. I had some issue last year similar and this worked. They have just returned though.
  14. I did it without removing oil filter housing.
  15. ive used a set of spring plates on the front in the last that bring the front down 10mm as this is a common issue.
  16. Lol, Im guessing the boost drug has hit!!
  17. Ah okay, I think he was looking for something with good bodywork Im afraid.
  18. Hi, mine is probably going to be for sale soon and within your budget. The Corrado feels a lot more modern than a Mk1 so will be a nicer daily. Just out of interest what the details on your car as I might know someone who would be interested?
  19. Sadly any bits will be staying on the car, it will be going as is. If it sells I'll still be around, as said above its more a decision for the car than me as I hate things not getting used as intended.
  20. I simply don't have the time or motivation to work on the car and it deserves that from someone so its more a decision at this time to stop it from getting into a state of dis-repair from lack of use or TLC. I dare say if it sells I will probably want another one in the future and luckily they are relative cheap so it shouldn't be too hard to get another one, that's another reason I probably wont mind if it does go.
  21. Okay as Ive said a few times I keep thinking about selling and after a good long think about it Im 99% sure Im going to put the car up for sale in a few weeks. I simply don't get time to look at the car and in all honesty dont miss driving it now. Ive promised the other half a wee road trip in it first but after that it will be going. I will probably let all my spares go with the car as well which includes spares wings, sills, new bushes, steering wheels, brake lines and hoses etc etc so next owner can hopefully lavish some love on it. Total clear out! I'll not get an add up yet but anyone interested let me know.
  22. Have you checked the inlet manifold for any leaks or if its loose in any way that will draw in excess air? Does it splutter only under load or will it do it if your sitting still and just revving the car?
  23. Looks ace. If I keep mine Im going to look about getting more trackdays done. As you say Knockhill will certainly test your brakes. Have fun!!
  24. IIRC my old VRT has an external 044 pump fitted under the car with a swirl pot in the boot in addition to in tank pump.
