I remember this yeah. There was something like 3 sets of body kits created and one ended up in Canada. Would have been good to see it in action.

Ah watches, another vice for me. Daily for me is just a couple of Seiko military style watches. Ive got an Omega Moonwatch Prof which is about 10 years old, love it as its fairly subtle yet you can see the quality. Its gets a lot of use, in fact to much. Ive seen myself wearing it whilst working on the car a few times... http://www.omegawatches.com/collection/speedmaster/moonwatch/presentation/speedmaster-professional Missus got me a fake last year but its a really good fake of a Bell & Ross - http://www.perfectwatches.cn/br01-92-black-dial-br20.html I honestly thought she'd bought a real one as I couldn't tell. Still going strong, its big mind you..

OBD II not essential but helps with idling, maps etc. Stealths is OBDI stuff so not essential by any means.
-
The intercooler would need to be checked behind a C bumper, probably better getting OBD-II management as well to start with. I bought a brand new turbo for piece of mind when I had mine, that was £1250 alone. Also wondering if anyone has tried these barrel chargecoolers now by PWR to see what results they have. Having had one they are ace but if I was to build my own now Id aim for mid to low 300bhp as to be honest that's enough to make a really quick car but not too much to start breaking bits and overwhelming the chassis.
-
Could possibly be interested as well. Might actually do something with the car next year.
-
Don't then. Wait and do it properly or you will regret it. Don't skimp when it comes to adding a turbo to one of these. Id still like to see their intercooler set up as it may not work with the C. If you want to do it yourself just watch all the forums and pick up bits here and there cheaply. You could probably get most good stuff for around £2-2500 for the equivalent of their stage 2. Id also recommend a GT35 over the GT30.

Cool, getting rare these days. Cant beat a silver Corrado IMO but then Im slightly biased.
-
Do seem fairly comprehensive. Stage II would best compromise IMO. You'd want to take head off anyway to do ARP bolts and then may as well do clutch at the same time. Things start ramping up so probably add another £1000 on top to get a good car.

Now thats a garage!!! Tempted to fit a 4 poster......? -
I like what youve done with it. It was loud but not raspy irratating loud.
-
I would say tart it up, get some OE wheels and punt it on then get a rougher cheaper car with track bits already. Especially if it has no rust.
-
Dont get drilled, slotted if you must. Drilled are more likely to crack if abused and the wholes can clog up, slotted are good for helping the gas escape from the disc face but do speed up pad wear. I use slotted on my RS4.

Time for a wee update, I pretty much feel like selling the car every other day but just cant do it especially considering the money they sell for these days. The alarm thing continues but its very intermitent and you just need to essentially pair the fob again so its not to bad. Car is SORN's now and under a cover outside the house until next year sometime. I have loads of spares to fit i.e. all new bushes, new downpipe, new brake lines from front back, new fuel filter, rust free rolled wings etc and hoping to get a nice exhaust as well. Anyway dont really have much time for it since my wee boy Kyle was born at the start of Oct, it kind of put things in perspective. I barely get time to wash the cars these days but he is ace, well worth it. Id bought a Golf Tdi to run about in but it was just so boring and slow I knew I had to get my planned next purchase a lot sooner. Im selling my flat in March next year and should hopefully have a tidy profit so one of these was planned then but I decided to bring it forward after some calcs. It relatively standard but has the all important sports diff, ADS suspension and dynamic steering. Its a brilliant all rounder. Can you tell I like boosted V6's!!! Just need to save up for the MRC treatment. -
With the 24v it isnt going to be that much different, I followed a 24v converted Mk2 round Knockhill and there was very little in it on the straights. My old VRT went round there travelling a lot faster and coped with just 312mm discs however I did have 6pot Willwoods. 16's is your best bet I would say, just have a second set of track wheels to save wear. Pretty much what everyone does these days anyway that does trackdays.
-
Thats a full prepped race car with tubed inner arches to accomodate those wheels. Cant compare to a standarish VR. 15's with something like Federal 595R's would be fine although like I said you can get Kumho track tyres now in 16in. http://www.camskill.co.uk/m116b0s690p0/Track_Day_Tyres_-_Trackday_Tyres_-_Motorsport_Tyres_-_16_inch_R16_inch_-_205_45_16_205_45R16

You will suffer with affordable tyres though. In all honesty the 288's with good discs and correctly selected pads will be fine for trackdays on a realtively standard car. I used them and had very little issues, I installed some early OEM cooling ducts as well which will help for sure. My set up is 288mm Mintex discs, Goodrige hoses, Motul600 fluid with DS2500 pads + OE cooling ducts and it managed with no issues at Knockhill on one of the hottest days of the year for awhole day. You may have to replace the pads and discs a little more but they will be a lot cheaper to replace I would have though. Maybe try and get some calipers with custom brackets to work with 288mm discs then get some good clearnace 15's to fit over them. As for tyres the track oriented tyre have stiffer wide walls so you dont get the same issues. I used 17's with road tyres (Pirelli p-zero) on my last trackday and they were the limiting factor for the car, You might get Khumho in 16's, try looking at Hummuh's topic on his track car.

Weird timing, I am selling a Mk5 Gti steering wheel on ebay and I had one person from Bosnia and another from Switzerland asking if I would ship to them. Its a standard Gti wheel!
-
Nice wheels. All the MO 6's come like that with the motorsport embossing. Often thought about this spec but not with that offset. 8in wide?
-
Get some ear plugs....
-
Nice, very nice. Please keep it realtively standard looking.
-
Has to be new?
-
Thats not exactly praise.... TBH if a dealer doesnt let you have a test drive they dont deserve your money. As said they try to match lease deals now as they have to. Id say try all the similar cars out that you are thinking about. Ive driven a few cars that got universal praise but was I underwhelmed.
-
Impressive, probably the best thought out and subtly modded Corrado IMO.
-
Loved them, remember watching them live. F1 isnt exciting, but i still maintain its a must see for any petrolhead.
-
I love rallying as well but all Im saying is dont dismiss it until you have seen what they are capable off. The "racing" element is very rare I agree but as a spectacle the cars are worth it IMO. Go see for yourself.
