  1. "This is a straight forward repair..." is it just me that thinks he's telling a little white lie there?
  2. Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I have just filled my car up with petrol thats costs 99.9p a litre at morrisons... get it while its cheap! apparently tesco's and asda have dropped it to that as well. Lets just cross our fingers it stays that way!
  3. yea, afraid it was ripped off whilst putting it onto a trailer but i got a new splitter for it
  4. with old wheels on borrowed wheels and finally with current wheels on... oh and its for sale... :norty:
  5. Im near hull but not sure how long im going to have the corrado for. I'd be up for a meet not too far away if i havn't sold it by then!
  6. Its got to the point when you darn't wash your car incase something breaks lol A bird has decided to make a nest directly above my car in my parking spot on my driveway. I seriously think it has some digestion problems cus that thing has gone to town on my car, looks like a mass bombing site. GRR...
  7. You know that feeling you get after your corrado is running right, it looks fairly good and your decision to sell it is slowly going away... i buy a new set of tyres for the front of my car. I have 7.5" borbets on the front, i ordered the exact same set of tyres Yokohama A539s 195/45, i then get a phone call from tyre company saying they no longer have them in stock but they have their replacements the s drive's. Fair enough they should be the same, so i get them put on and guess what... the stretch i used to have has now gone :mad2: so i have to go give my friend a lift down his country road and it is scrubbing like crazy. and before anyone say they are new tyres its inevitable, my old ones had loads of tread on the outside, the tracking was magerly out so the inside was bald. anyway, i think oh, it will have scuffed the tyre a little so big deal. so i park up, take a look and its bent the arch outwards, ripped a screw out the arch and almost torn the outside tread off the tyre :mad2: so now im going to need ANOTHER new tyre... sometimes i dont know why i bother, might as well buy a chaved up corsa, they never seem to have these problems :(
  8. hey tim, car looks good as i said on southern downhill. didnt realise you paid that much for it!!! absolute bargain! now get some coilies on it and drop it lol
  9. gutted, hope its not too broken! wheels look pretty nice
  10. looks different, if they were red they would look the nuts on a red car whilst it was on the move!!! just a thought, why dont you paint the inside of the wheel blue to match the car, will be different and should look pretty cool as well
  11. yea i have the very same wire. its got a spade connector (mine HAD a spade connector). I dont have the sensor either but it looks like one of the sensors on the right hand side of the engine as i recall. I believe it is for keeping the fan on after the engine is turned off to give it some cooling rather than just cutting out when you take the key out.
  12. Honestly... i almost have no idea where to start! the guy who owned the car before me is the most bodging person i've ever met. Firstly checking central locking... the drivers side opened but no central locking, found he had taken the alarm off and twisted the central locking together!! Then got the central locking working on drivers side and boot only. for some reason after getting fed up of trying with passenger side it started working after i cursed at it for a good half hour. about 2 months later on, as im trying to open the driver's door it wont unlock (bare in mind i use the key), it seems the air central locking isnt unlocking so i have to turn the key and quickly pull on the lever to try and open the door in the split second it mildy becomes unlocked!! which then again fixed itself after a good cursing session and "im going to sell you to a farm as a heap of s**t"
  13. yea already got em, doubt its steal to order tho. turned out to be 2 oldish guys that im pretty sure works at council. few more people complimented on my "scirocco" :mad2: spent 10 minutes chatting to a guy who kept referring to it as a scirroco, lol.
  14. sat in the pub last night, could see my car out the window when a couple of guys walked past glanced over then stopped in their tracks, i was thinking oh crap i can see a window getting potted here so kept my eye on them... next thing i know the camera phone comes out and they are pointing at my new 9" deep dish borbet's :D
  15. Im not really sure which section this should be in but just recently my car has developed a rather annoying habit of setting the washer jets going on its own and then keeping them spraying. I can stop it by flicking the stalk back a little bit but it seems to come on when go over a bump in the road. As you can imagine this is incredibly annoying!!! Its a 1.8 16v early spec, i fitted a new adjustable steering column replacing a non adjustable one following a theft attempt and the wires are a bit tight but that was a while ago and its been fine. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers!!!
  16. my other car, when my corrado isn't working. Lovely little ride!
  17. About it starting on 3, does the fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition? if it doesnt thats perhaps your problem as my friends car used to do that, turned out to be a broken wire behind the fuse box. not sure what it was but it was a black wire.
  18. next up for guess that wire... brown wire with spade connector, comes in the engine bay with the loom just behind the metering head. when i touch it to metal it turns the fan on. fan works fine, even have a switch on the dash to manually turn it on. no idea what the wire is meant for though.
  19. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=66175
  20. it just spins up whenever i put my foot down, it has new pirellis on. btw this is golf mk2
  21. Have you checked your oil and water? gotta say it sounds like what mine was doing when the headgasket had gone. Otherwise perhaps timing is out, not sure why it would be seeing as you havnt touched it but best to check all possibilities.

    MFA readings.

Hey, i own a 1.8 16v and have silly reading for the mpg, i wouldnt go by what it says. It usually reads at 20mpg when im just crusing along the motorway. As for the MPH reading, as Walesy said its an average speed, Mine usually sits at around 30 anyway.
  23. Oh sorry, iv got a 1989 1.8 16v. Ill take a look at that, thanks alot.
  24. Right got into my car after work on the way home in the dark and for some reason the indicators have stopped working. When the ignition is off the interior indicator light doesnt even bother lighting up. When the ignition is on both the dash and light on steering wheel light lights up but doesnt blink, its just constantly on. I am going to take a guess and say its possibly a relay but have no idea which one it is so dont really want to start fiddling and break something else. Any help would be much appreciated!!
