gotta say one of my favourite corrado's of all time! just gets better, none of this chequebook modding!
-
you speak the words of a true jedi master KAD, think i will do that. how much did you pay for your manifold?
-
does anyone know of any mk5 pedals kicking about, any sports cats going for reasonably cheap and also if there are any companies making manifolds for the conversion with lambda's?
-
Yep! i got it running pretty much 100% and sold it, it was in fact running soo well i was tempted to keep it but i wanted more power. glad i sold it now though as i now have a VR6 to have fun with! 100% standard so its a nice clean slate. would stick with it though, yours doesn't have too much to do and you'll be loving it once its done.
-
thanks alot KIP, what did you do about manifold and lambda's? need to get a manifold but want to keep all 4 lambda's

I totally feel your pain!!! bought a valver with blown head gasket (was told battery, alternator and starter was duff hence no start, f***in a***hole). spent a fortune renewing engine, had about 2-3 months of fun and water pump died and fried the head gasket, cue new engine then cue oil filter housing spilling all its contents on the road... another engine, 5 mins after new engine again problems... the engine had a huge crack in the head between cylinders, so again new engine... runs fine for a month, then battery and alternator die at the same time... and thats not half of it all i can say is at least yours is running!!! but you cannot beat the feeling that split second whilst it is running fine!!!

Just wondering if you can plug R32 clocks into an 05 3.2 TT engine? or if the wiring is completely different. basically i have found an audi tt engine for reasonably cheap but i was considering a mk4 dash, and for time being id like to use corrado dash but in the future if i feel like a change putting mk4 clocks and dash in. Also does anybody know, other than the audi tt being mapped differently and different air flow meter, how different they are from mk4 golf r32's? im just trying to gauge if they are going to be equivalent to a mk4 or mk5 r32. Oh and does anybody know of anyone making custom manifolds with the lambda's in?

very nice and shiny 8) , brave man for having a colour coded splitter!!!

Non starting...possibly fixed - anyone got a Toad Ai606?
swiftkid replied to TomD's topic in Engine Bay
not trying to insult your intelligence but i think if you take key out the toad has a countdown until immobiliser kicks in so you have to press unlock button again. it isn't perhaps something as simple as that? -
perhaps speak in english might help so the throttle body butterfly isn't shutting properly? is the spring sat on right, have you tightened the nut too much making it harder to shut the final part

i can only presume he is trying to say this: The car as one, shows throught Ireland (it gets driven around Ireland) I Must see this car (must be blind or something) Car has had £65,000 in a suit case rested on top whilst a businessman tied his shoelace

Lancia Delta Integrale 9. Peugeot 205 as my track bitch 10.Aston Martin DBS as my daily... and stormchargedvr6, why dont you sell one of your mk4 r32s so you have more space for another car...
-
curiously, that front bumper looks like it has a smoothed number plate recess. is that custom or standard?
-
don't want to spam up the for sale thread so posting here. That is a horrendous price for wheels, why is it that even though BBS wheels are ten a penny they are still being sold for such ridiculous prices... scene tax yet again :mad2:

Heres a full and in depth write up of how to change the timing chains. Me and my friend did it on his MK2 VR6 and we arn't mechanics, just people with old cars that need fixing. If you have done previous work on your car and you have the right tools it should be fine, just a little daunting at first! http://mk2vr6.com/board/viewtopic.php?f ... ace+chains

What keeps your enthusiasm for corrado going?
swiftkid replied to Jim Bowen's topic in General Car Chat
I lost my enthusiasm for my corrado so i sold it, now i want another one :( glutton for punishment or what!!! In fact thinking about it, corrado ownership is like having a girlfriend/wife... you'd get bored if nothing dramatic ever happened and your life became dull and monotonous, the newer models cost more and look good but you always wish you had something with more experience and style but with a corrado - you have an argument and something breaks, but after its all patched up and working the make up erm... drive :norty: is fantastic! well at least for another day or so lol -
Nice car, havn't seem them wheels on a rado before. Im pretty sure 95% that the grilles are the same, it was only the indicators that were changed. You could just buy the later bumper with everything attached, probably be easier to get hold of and they arn't that expensive!

I suddenly have a hankering for a caddy.....
swiftkid replied to skinnyman9000's topic in General Car Chat
my friends caddy WIP, looks the nuts! the headlights needed replacing so he sprayed them yellow for a laugh. bought it as a resto project for something like £300 -
I once kicked my corrado in an attempt to repair a blown head gasket... it didnt work and V.A.G, which i refuse to accept, actually stands for Volkswagenwerk Aktiengesellschaft and not Volkswagen Audi Group... i shall however remain calling it VW Audi group until someone provides me with how to pronounce it or shortens it until it is pronounceable
-
yes, all it does is cushion the throttle body so that it doesnt slam shut, just adjust it until it feels right. and make sure you lock the nuts in the right place otherwise it will just wind itself back in.
-
http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... 52#p874652 the top 4 pictures show it, that example is broken though, it should have a thread attached to it to screw into a bracket on the back of the throttle body. hope that helps edit: bottom picture shows it not broken

haha, i've got to say... really, what was he hoping for. that glimmer of hope that it was a replica and he could tell all his mates he smoked a cosworth. bhp isn't everything!
