I must say i've got my questions on the lag too (becasue i dont understand it i think) Now i hope i can explain this well. Surley a kompressor works better when the speed is increased slowly rather than quickly, as this allows it to increase the flow in and out without "choking it". with the digi lag you can't get a g60 to the same boost by booting it, as if you wind it up slowly (more progressivly than putting your foot straight to the floor), and believe me i've tried. My G60 takes of like a rocket if i press the gas at a moderate rate rather than striaght to the floor. Anyone else notice this!! Now is this different with out the lag. I dont see it as the engine still has to build speed before the compressor generates boost (well a large positive boost pressure in the manifold) So on a G60 is there any point? Im not questioning the chip but, someone please explain this one!!

thought so!! :D
-
you reacon we could get a group buy on these chips? I'd be up for it as i need a new map for the hotter spanish climate!!, not sure about it not being done on the rolling road though!! Surly one mapped on the rollers would be "tunned for your engine"
-
okay say the engine threw a con rod or something and thus the crank hit the bottom of the rod and that "locked" the engine as the crank became jammed. the force on the pulleys would be massive, and seeing as the crank pulley is the one that cannot move the bolt is the weakest part or the link between the two. i'm not saying it wasn't the bolt, but its a strange one. when i use to to race model boats we often saw engines blow and throwing con rods with some funny outcomes. the worst was a con rod going nearly all the way through the casting.

 do you realise what speed you get up to in 5th gear at 2500rpm, if you could get it into 5th!!! about 40km-h for a guess
-
oh feck!! are you sure it was the bolt and the bolt didn't snap cos the engine locked up?
-
I had my charger done by jabba at xmas and they said you must run it in for 400miles and DO NOT exceed 4000rpm (2500rpm is very low and very slow). I have just completeed 600km (400m ish about 40kilometers to go) on my new charger, i shall not be thrashing it just yet, im gonna take it easy and easy up the engine speed over the next few hundred Ks.

Okay Firstly I personally would only use G11 in my G60 as it says so on the expansion tank, its been used since day one and its okay so far!! Okay coolant/water ratios According to Mr Bentley :study: Sorry No idea about the 16v i would imagine its near to the capacity of the G60 For the G60 down to -25 degrees C use 2.3L Coolant G11 and 3.3L of water (0.01L missing somewhere) down to -35 degrees C use 2.75L Coolant G11 and 2.75L of water For the VR6 down to -25 degrees C use 3.5L Coolant G12 and 6.5L of water down to -35 degrees C use 5.0L Coolant G12 and 5.0L of water Unless im mistaken you DO NOT add anti freeze as that is what the G11/12 are for!!! To drain the System you need to get under the car a disconntect the hoses that goes into a metal pipe across the c that is the lowest part of the Corrados cooling system. G60's and V6's anyway (near the water pump)!!

The intercooler clean out makes things noiser too!! you can hear the air moving around its really cool!!
-
considering the service interval on a standard G60 is 60k and if you run a smaller pulley you'd expect the service interval to come down!!

I wonder if those cameras in london could pick you reg plate up if it was hung in the top of the rear window, but not flat against the glass??? I was watching sky news the over morning when they had the control center on. made me think!! Might no be legal but "it feel off officer"!!! :D
-
to stop people doing just that and duplicating your plate on there corrado of the same colour!! maybe!
-
Well the Engine coolant/antifreeze debate always runs somewhere with the corrado sites, but i thought i'd post what i found out from my dealer here in spain Basic rule of thoumb is what ever coolant is marked on your expansion tank is what you should run. G11 Green G12 Pink G12+ not sure It should be mixed with distilled water not tape water. G11 and G12 must Never be mixed. However apparently this new G12+ is okay to mix with either. Now here is the fun bit I've always read that the G12 is better than G11 and people when out and did the change over. But this may not be the case as G12 is designed for a different metal alloy used in the later engines. According to my stealer) Hence the change over, but G12 is no better for the older blocks than the G11. So what do you run in your bottle??

Why Bother watching that!! One Celtic will lose Two They always play each other in the final so its been seen before!!! hasnt it?

Not sure there are two Boss's for the C early one and late one, just see if it fits if you already have one!
-
Not sure but i think the P.D. motorsport boy are using them on a G60!!

For months my exhaust has been hitting the back axel on my C (cos its lowered). I'd tried most things to sort it, new rubbers, powerflex rubbers (not that much Cop, were okay, made the problem easier to live with but not a complete solution). Anyway over the weekend i took my C to a nice english garage out here in spain and the mechanic and i spent four hours pissing around with it all. I went to Ford (yes Ford) to buy some new exhaust clamps (if was near and only place open), which to my supprise were the best i've seen anywhere, we clamped the exhaust up bit by bit and spot welded it when it was all correct. We are now just going to put the original rubbers back on as the powerflex ones are a bit floppy now. the result of it all is and exhaust pipe that is now firm on its mountings and not floating around like god knows what. we are making and extra mount for the back box as the one at the tip of the box is only one sided, so we are going to make a two sideone one in an effort to stop the twisting. We also are still trying to make the exhaust tip centered in the exit in the bumper. the result now is a silent ride and im happy. I know a few C owners have had problems with their aftermarket exhaust and them not well, or should i say was not working well with lowered C's.

Jabba sport recommend services every 40K btw!!

you can check the engine mounts yourself with the help of a friend. Handbrake on, in gear and try to move the car slowly if the engine rocks a lot then the engine mounts are knackered, if not then they should be okay, the clutch may cause it, but you would get the car moving rather than the engine rocking

Looking at that charger it look like the oil seals went as its covered in oil!! If your gonna buy of ebay, be carefull and make sure the charger is rebuilt or servicable
-
BEWARE there is a LHD and RHD part!!! make sure you get the correct one!
-
Get you mate to speak to jabba about his leon they are doing some crazy stuff with seats there! mainly diesels but hey they've doubled as ibizas BHP there and dont a mental Golf too!
-
Just change the springs and suspension bushes before you change the shocks unless they need doing. you'll be supprised.!!
