I thought all g60s were 4 stud (including late ones), am I wrong? sorry let me fill in the caps all G60 are originally 4 studs. the face lifted G60's share suspension component with the VR6 so a swap may be possible, including brakes etc. but the drive shafts may not fit as they will be a different length so you may have to put Vr ones in. someone must have tried it!!

I was merely making the point (and tongue-in-cheek when doing so!) that the VR doesn't need a rebuild (of any kind) after 40k miles, unlike the G60 which is recommended to have a charger overhaul. No need to apologise :wink: 8) 40k on a modded one and 60k on VW service intervals, which BTW VW dont do, they send them away!! THATS MILES BTW
  5. to check the charger remove the first boost hose off the charger and check for signs of oil, if there is oil present the seals are going, if there is oil in small spoonfulls then its on its way out for sure. at 90k and never done, it must be going. Check for a VW oil filter should be black and have VW plastered all over it. NON oem filters dont filter the oil aswell apparently. I was down the breakers the other week and there was a blown charger on a C there and the filter was a tiny thing that looked like a motor bike one. When getting the charger rebuilt make sure you change the oil Feed line for a new one and get the bigger return pipe cleaned.

  10. check your alarm relay that holds the control voltage sounds like a fault to me. Cliffords alarms for example wont close VW's with out a seperate relay fitted from what i understand. Unless you program the lock pulse for the window closure time.

    G60 Water Leak

    Do you mean the connection where the top rad hose goes into the block and via a plastic pipe with the blue and black sensors in? If you you should be able to a) if your lucky replace the 'O' rings for the sensors and all will be fine, or B) change the plastic pipe that connects all the hoses to the block. Use new G12 plus antifrezee/coolant from VW instructions are on the bottle for the correct mix for your climate. I'd change the thermostate and flush the system with distilled water is you drain the system.
  14. I think we should all stop slaggin the saxo, after all its a nice little compact run around thats cheap to run and insure, which jim is taking advantage of untill he can get a VR. Its just the "scene" and a few "idots" thats drive them. (not you jim) becasue the saxo is so cheap it has become a modders car for these idiots and lest face it with free insurance its a pritty attractive package (only if they knew about these free insurance sceme!! :evil: :lol: ) , and any business that are in that game is right to take advantage of that fact and produce all the shit they stick to the things. its easy money!! just my 2cents

I'll second that cos on the way out earlier i had a 206 GTI Trying to pass me over and undertaking, he eventually found a cap so i waited till he was level with me undertakeing me, going round a corner(him on the inside of the bend) im in 5th, i just pressed the pedel and breezed back past him, he then sat on my arse after i slowed down (missus) , then i just opened her up and floored it, left him standing then missus again giving me shit so i pulled in let him pass and he then cuts infront of me!! being a dick as if to say i win LOL

    Anyone ever used the outside air temp as a charge temp sensor!! how cheap would that be, no gauge and on the dash!!
  20. there is no reset for the g60 ecu as it dont have a temperary memory
