The missus has just seen 4 Corrado's in convoy going through King's Lynn. Said they were all weird colours. She was in the bright orange Arosa.

There is my problem right there!

Just popped it in and got it all tightened up now. Seems much better but think in a week or 2 going to modify it myself to fit how i want it. Seems ok but is still too loud for my liking even with with the 3 boxes. I do have a magnex(sp?) backbox which i think i am going to modify and try too. That is quite a bit larger than the powerflow box so may silence it more. Exhaust didn't cost much so it's just a case of getting it how i want. Thats why i have put this one on, it sits much higher because the middle 'suitcase' is smaller. I live in the sticks and on a spirited drive i hit it and ripped a hole in that and it also broke the welds where the pipe goes into the backbox. I'm sure the loud sound of the exhaust is fine but not for me. TBH i liked the original exhaust and had this powerflow already so it had to go on as i needed the car ASAP. I think at 26 i must be getting old before my time as i liked how quiet the original exhaust was before i broke it.

I have also posted in the which exhaust thread but didn't think many people would look in there. My problem is that i have just got a powerflow exhaust fitted and tbh i hate it. Its far too loud for my liking but it was a case of needed something straight away. Anyway have noticed that the joint between the cat and 1st box has started to blow when its cold so was going to re-do the joint but looked on the net first and found this.. I found this on another site so before i drop the exhaust and re-do the joint is this true and would i be wasting my time? This is what has happened to mine, Done a 100+ miles and now it rattles/blows slighty form the joint when cold but is fine once it is warm.

I don't know what was said but nobody needs to argue. Its not like face to face discussions. The beauty of an online forum is that if somebody gets on your nerves you never have to see them and you can just ignore them and stop reading that thread. Sorry to see your car like that, all i can say is argue your case and send pictures of it before and after the damage. I was in the same position a couple of months back after a bin lorry reversed into my c outside my house. I know it sucks, all i kept doing was look at the undamaged side and then feel sad as i knew it look sh*t on the other. I really pushed for my car to be repaired, told them that if they look on somewhere like autotrader (not here as prices are higher on at) they will see that there are not even that many avaliable to buy around the UK, and like me it was not your fault so all i kept saying is that all i wanted was my car to be how it was before they hit it. Keep arguing your case . Also if you do need parts i have a drivers door in red (bare) you can have for £30(and a wing but it's late spec £30). I got it just in case i needed it.

All back and shiney mate, really need to get some pics up.

Are quite a few recently turning up around kings lynn mate, see another very nice red c parked down Sidney Street last week. I can think of at least 5 that are on this forum including you. I have had mine for nearly 3 years though so i think most people are copying me

Awesome bike mate i had one exactly like that as a kid with all the bar protectors also had another white rayleigh BMX, think that was a burner aswell. I was trying to find one the other week on ebay. Also was looking at a wildcat too. Weren't the skyway and other plastics wheels the ones people used to always say you could put in freezer if you bent them and they went back into shape?

I think that belongs to vr6 storm auto. He lives right by the college. Muppetlab, is it you i see sometimes in lynn. mines classic green

I would look on detailingworld, they would be able to help. But pictures would help.

Also check for broken or damaged wires, I traced my fan fault down to a broken earth lead on the battery.

Replaced the throttle cable gromit in the accelerator pedal (Bottom of Dash Out) as it kept coming out but must have knocked a relay or something while doing it. Everything seemed fine yesterday, however got in the car this morning and turned the key and all i got was a relay clicking. Tried again and fired up fine. Then on the way to work indicated left (Relay was fine) and later to the right (Clicking was really fast like double speed) then a few mile later it corrected itself. What the hell have i done? Sure it isn't an ignition switch fault as i changed that less than a year ago (Gen VAG).

Check your leads and plugs mate, i had the same problem with fuelling this week. Checked for airleaks and was just generally checking around and noticed what looked like a loose lead. Upon futher inspection i noticed that 1 of the spark plugs had worked slightly loose (Haven't checked/changed them in a couple of years  ). New plugs later and it seems a lot better. Also may be worth cleaning your MAF if you can (wait till someone else says its fine) done this on my old golf VR6 before and improved things. Don't VR6's Ecu's learn their values? May be worth checking everything out then disconnecting the battery to reset everything and see if it makes a difference. Oh and if you can get a scantool on it. That should tell you a few things.

Looks good mate, what is that on the back bumper? Some kind of blank for a tow bar or something?
-
I do love how small corrados seem to look against nearly all new cars. Even a ford fiesta seems big compared to them. Car looks good mate, love the colour but not sure about the headlights if i'm honest.
-
If it is the ignition switch, i found wiggling the key in the lock or turning it back slightly on itself before you turn it over made the car start.

wouldn't it be much easier and cheaper just to repair your car? I paid under £50 for a late spec wing and door and i'm sure that with them painted it wouldn't have cost much more than £350. Or you could just do a cheap job and do the lot for around £150. Most of the suspension parts you could buy off here cheap enough too. I think if you wanted to do an engine swap to another corrado you would have to change all of the running gear (i'm sure that the VR6 is wider at the front wheels than any other model) so you would still have to repair your bits anyhow.

Didn't know if i should put this here or in car care but here goes.. Saturday i picked my car up from the bodyshop, and would like to know how long before i can polish and wax the painted areas. General opinions on the net seems to be 4-6 weeks to allow it to cure, Is this correct? :confused4:

Are they Skoda wheels? i quite like them. Car looks good, and the yellow calipers look nice.

i miss my car and it's only been gone 5 days :( -
Yep i think it was £240.04 +VAT for the wing, sure i got told you could only get late spec wings too. If like mine the wing is badly dented you may need all new arch liners too £59.69 +VAT. Mine is in the bodyshop at the moments having a new wing and some other stuff doing so i know you can still get late spec as mine was only ordered a week or 2 ago. Best look secondhand though as i got a spare wing and door for a total of £45 just in case the insurance wouldn't pay but am going to keep them as spares i think.

Know its the whole car and not exactly what you are looking for but i quite like this pic. cutaway.jpg[/attachment:20ea8a27]
