Do a search on here mate, plenty of info (a mk2 G60 subframe should be the same iirc, but do a check for sure) It's basically what the engine, suspension and most of the front end bolts to so labour will be quite up there, but I don't think it's too hard to do if you have a few knowledgeable mates.

I picked these up from the bay recently: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=220202229257&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=012 They seem quality enough, although I haven't fitted them yet. Do VW really want £70 for them??? They're fitted to so many different models, you might be able to get a genuine set quite cheaply. hth, Jon.

A subframe doesn't cost THAT much mate, of course it's not worth scrapping! You will have tyour work cut out finding a G60 one though, I've found more hen's teeth recently :/

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...

Broke the spares up a little more, thinking I'm gonna have to bin / sell for pennies a lot of the odd bits I stripped from the shell as they're a bit random! @vwdeviant, those ABS sensors are ready and waiting, rear ones still attached to axle but just looks like a 2-min allen key job! @CazzaVR, rear calipers in better condition than I thought, pistons are still shiny under all the cack! Both came off the axle very easily and both bleed nipples non-seized!! (Call Guinness Book of Records, Quick! ) @ProdigalSon, rest of the ABS stuff waiting for you, including that cylinder should you want it. Still has black paint/label on so deffo in VGC. -
You really need to search buddy, there are dedicated threads for this kind of thing!!

Same. Spent 5 years trying to work out what to do at uni, and now i'm here I'm loving it! :D

In short Cazza, yes new clutch time! I would put real money on it being the clutch seeing as it's doing what my Golf did last year. Today, i rifled through the bits from the stripped shell and dismantled the subframe and parts attached thereto. -

It's not a VR mate, read his sig! He's just thinking about replacing his G60 clutch with a VR6 item. -
I don't want to have to pull it apart later on though as I know there's tons more stuff to do in the bay. I should make a shotlist of urgents and see if I have the funds for them...
-
Fraid not matey, didn't take the doors with the shell. You could try Danny Allen and see if he still has them, but I think he scrapped everything that was left :(
-
yeah, they should all be replacable bulbs which you can screw out the back of the pcb, iirc.
-
Carbon build up perhaps, have you tried using intake / carb cleaner on it?
-
Gorgeous car matey! Love the colour... The one I...ahem.... "liberated" was Moonlight also, but you could barely tell under the grime.
-
I knew you'd say that... and I still say RR!

Why does my burgundy suck so hard? Recurring annoying issues from a little pootle tonight are: rev limiter cutting in at 5000rpm.... w h y???? (possible fooked dizzy?) the whole front end floppier than Graham Norton in the All-Female Swedish Volleyball team's shower room... don't think this front end bush renewal can wait until the summer... :( Answers on a postcard! By a postcard, I mean "right here on the forum" Thanks :D

agree on rolling road, who wants to keep driving up and down a road stopping all the time to adjust their cam timing?

Remember that different grade oils will be in different states at those temperatures, so what is a fine oil temp in one car could well be shell melting in another. I'd sh*t a brick if my MAF told me oil temp was 130 deg in any car. 2p.

^^^ or the clutch. It's still behaving _a lot_ like my 16v did last year when the clutch / diaphragm release plate snapped in half.

I've met the man, and now i'm meeting the legend!?!

Yeah looks very dark! cheers for the crazy photos... did you threaten to snap at that red mini that got in the way at Saino's r'bout? he shot off in a hurry! dirty diesel fake minis...

Yeah you missed something indeed bro, I sold the brake master cyl....one with the reservoir on top? Anyways leaving now, catch you in 5. -
Mine seems to have been dubbed 'Ron' by CazzaVR. Doesn't take a scientist to work out why!

I think we pulled a spare cylinder off Danny's shell that we ripped up, was an ABS unit too. Bro, we should sling that on and potentially order a new clutch anyways as you're prob putting out around 200ftlb of torque on a std clutch  -
I take it yours is far right in that photo, Junkie? Looks like it has a scoop!
