Thanks for all of your opinions with regards to how it looks, i like the way they look bud. VW no doubt did design the exhaust the way they did for a good reason but there are plenty of aftermarket systems out there that differ from the stock vw system and this could just be another! Im not worried about people getting burnt, no one rubs themselves against my car when getting out so thats that sorted. Im sure the paint work can cope with a bit of heat and ill make sure i leave a similar gap to what a magnex or similar leaves between itself and the bumper. Costs money, no worries, ill sell the aftermarket system thats on the VR already. A straight bit of pipe with a single bend and a silencer or two wont cost too much. Potentially stupidly loud is my worry.... Thanks for the input. Abdul

Hey guys, thinking of one for my VR to be, always thought it'd look cool on a rado. Now how anyone got one or heard one? How loud are they as i dont want to wake up the neighbours everytime i start the thing! If i lost the cat and put a small silencer in its place and used a small diameter pipe like a 2" or something rather than the regular 2.5" would that perhaps help with keeping it quiet? I havent really looked under a vr but maybe i could squeeze in another silencer somewhere before the tips exit just ahead of the rear wheels... I know some wont like it etc and i might not even do it so please can we have constructive comments only please. Abdul

Im sure all rado's have em. These have either been smoothed or had new wings due to rust lol. IIRC, new wings dont come with the repeater cut outs. Im probably chatting complete crap though :lol:

The car is awesome in every way minus the steering wheel and the 11's. Look soo f'kin stupid from behind, 10s wouldve been better imo.

Come on bro, u know im more of a chav than that. It'll have to be a BIG ram air open filter for me for extra induction roar lol. The car might be -5hp but ill make up for that :lol:

Thanks for the comments gents... It is indeed a damn shame about the points Ollie got. The new one will be pretty basic to begin with but it'll have a nice shell defo! I just hope it'll be as reliable as my valver was. Let me down twice in nearly two years! One top hose and one the ignition switch more recently! The rado got sold to Ollie with the bronze g60 earlier today! All is not good though, unfortunately Ollie got pulled on the way home as the car came up on the police system as uninsured even though he insured it. I haven't had it insured in nearly 3 months and the system obviously wasnt updated on time despite Ollie insuring the motor. Now the bad part... He got 3 points for one of the tyres which was really badly scrubbed due to poke and us driving to the petrol pump to fill it up while it had piss all air in it. He also has to sort the rear lights as they indicate red and what not. Its a damn shame that this happened, really puts a downer on his new purchase as i think he was happy with the rest of the car etc. Im sure he'll comment when he gets the chance. For when he does read this, Im really really sorry pal. Some pics before Ollie took her away... At the petrol pump where the frickin air machine wasnt working anyway so Ollie called his mates and his muscleman buddy filled it up with a half broken foot pump... And before he drove off! Anyway, ill update the thread with pics of the new purchase if it all works out next week. Thanks for reading, Abdul

Ive owned my rado 16v since the end of 2008 and i just calculated my costs... holy shit, inc fuel and insurance etc its cost me around 11k give or take 500 squids.. Mind u, insurance was 3k in that time, tpft every time. I am fecking mad. I am in the middle of changing over to a vr6 now :nuts:

A scotish VW dealer sold a brand spankin new rocco R in blue with a list price of 30k for 23k... madness...

I always use Torque Exhausts in Enfield (north london). Dont let the name put u off, they specialise in exhausts and engine rebuilds but have a full mot centre and bodyshop too! The guys there really do take awesome care of your car regardless of what it is and ive never seen them rip anyone off with duff work etc. Put it to you like this, ive seen them rebuild 2 aston db9 engines and a couple of weeks ago when i popped round they were doing an exhaust and a few other bits for a ferrari 550/575. Oh yes... they tend to have a wide variety of cars go there, be it vag, ricers or top end 100k+ motors... they also built a mk3 VRT for a customer not too long ago. Basically, i wouldnt go anywhere else but they're not exactly cheap either. Pm me for details if u like.

Nope. There's definitely more than one type of black on the Corrado, and I'm pretty sure Magic Black is one of them :) Im pretty sure theres two with one looking a bit lighter than the other. I have no clue as to what they're called though.

What's the difference between black and 'magic' black? Old thread but ill answer, im pretty sure the standard black is 'just' a black. Magic black is found on mk4 golfs etc, has a metal flake in it. Lovely colour. Ive now changed my mind though, just a boring black with no pearly flakey business would look lovely, the rado doesn't need funky colours to make it look the dogs. Ive always so desperately wanted a DBP rado and now i might be getting one i dont want to sell the ice grey violet valver... its.. well... *rare* compared to DBP. I say that and theres 3 ice greys for sale at the mo inc my own haha. I think the ice grey with the way ive modded my car makes it look like more of a aggressive bruiser, DBP looks refined which is my next look i think. Ive also got a new fetish for nuggets, i hate the colour when its not on a rado but a freshly painted nugget is just sick!

I know about this, its not an issue for me, ill get it sorted! Maj, i know what u mean but have you seen how low my rado is? Im not going to drive a jacked up rado; this also means its got a harsh as f*ck ride!! I dont want a 5 series, nice drive but not my thing, too grown up lol. To those who are suggesting a 2nd car, i live in a high car crime area and am only 21, insuring one car is more than expensive enough! Couldnt afford another. Rob... :norty: :lol:

Im actually heart broken. Has anyone seen Custom my ride when they take a new dodge charger, rip the shell off and put an old charger shell on?? If i had the money needed... TT Rs with corrado shell would be very much my dream car! I always think about it but tbh, it'd probably cost 100k to do or something mad like that. YES mate i like your thinking, CLassic shells with modern running gear are the way forward. BUT i would much rather have a R36 powered corrado with Haldex (with a RWD bias). DAVE Too much weight with the R36 though? I cant think of any car other than the passat that have that lump and a rado shell would not fit over a new passat chassis. A Corrado shell with a tonne of work would probably somehow fit over a new TT id imagine... You couldnt go wrong imo as technically speaking you've got your self a brand new tt-rs lol.
