  1. wasnt it originally pink when max power did it? I think this chaps returning it to how it left their hands, or there abouts. Dispite the ownership controversy and colour it looks like a good job has been made of things, when chrisvr6 nos and I visited trippy it was looking a bit tatty, not through his doing I have to add, it'd just been abused over the years, now it looks good as new. I STILL love that kit, wouldnt have it myself but by boggery it looks hard!
  2. from what trippy's said the police want nothing to do with it as they say its a civil matter. I wonder if Leec is aware of the background to the car? He may very well not be the guy who 'reposeesed' it from trippys mates garage, so no finger pointing until he's had his say.
  3. I doubt he'll be posting until he finds a way back from 1885, avoiding being killed by Buford 'Maddog' Tannen in the process.
  4. quite like the spitties, they've got a hint of the look of a stock VW steelie about them, only alot beefier! Cant decide if they'd suit the corrado or not but I do like em. the d90's in black WILL suit it though, no doubt.
  5. could he have given out a producer? I dont think they need a reason for that, probably right in that the car being registered miles away would have created more paperwork than he was prepared to do. I've got off with a couple of daft things (driving in a bus lane) in geordie land due to my southern accent and being able to blag that I'm not local :D
  6. Two attempts, one I'd do... the other I wouldnt, although it doesnt look bad for a bodykitted rado. Funny they should put so many options for bodykits on there when everyone knows the corrado looks better without! I think they need more wheel choice too, theres not many nice rims on there other than the obvious BBS stuff.
  7. sheesh, another brush with death there dinkus, who do you think you are, Michael Knight? ;) I got pulled for speeding in a simular way ages ago, police car comes flying up behind me, so i move over to let him pass thinking nothing was amiss... to my suprise he moves over behind me 'bloody idiot!' thinks I, incorrectly assuming he was trying to go around me and didnt see me indicate to get out of his way. when I move lanes and he follows me again the truth dawns and I pull over :( oddly he said he was doing 120 to catch me too, which I doubt since he was driving a diesel mk4 astra like the one i was in at the time and I'd never got it over 110 :D
  8. thats reasonably convincing too, in photos at least, nice work!
  9. and you've owned it how long?? nice work chap, might as well do it all early on and enjoy while your wallet recovers

    :(

reminds me of a near miss my mum had a few years ago. As she overtook a lorry carrying big wooden telephone poles she glanced in her rear view mirror to see several of them sliding off the back of the lorry and flipping end over end down the road. had she been 10 seconds slower she'd have been very flat. looks like you were lucky mate
  11. I think its just a general snack vending machine on early VR's and 2.0 8v's

theres a how-to in the wiki furks, plenty of photos of where your nipples go ;) :?
  13. I understand its pretty much a ground-up rebuild with improvements and modifications to make it something better than the original corrado was, you've said before now that EVERY part of the car has been modified in some way shape or from and I've no reason to doubt that, its a fantastic car and a testiment to your hard work that its getting so much interest and attention. I dont want to detract from the car or your work at all Jay, I've got alot of respect for you doing something thats so far out of my grasp its not even real. My comments came off the back of PhatVR6's attempted sale of his 4x4 r32'd beasty and the fact that he failed to shift what was (at the time) the UK's only r32 4x4 corrado - something pretty special, and at a price not much above whats being suggested here. Yes your car goes further than his in terms of 'like new' appeal, but you hopfully see what I'm saying. Your car is worth more than 8k, hell its worth more than 20k, its what people will be prepared to pay for it that I'm trying to get at. shutting up now :?
  14. agree'd theres room to build on it and agree'd its in better nick than a 2 year old golf, but I really think Jay would struggle to sell it at 10k, its almost twice the price of a standard VR in really good condition. Horses for courses I guess, for me 10k would be too steep, but there'll be those out there that would pay it.
  15. :D how many reactions did you expect in 8mins? people are still reeling from the shock! I think the hard part will be putting a price on it, it owes you 4 years, a couple of pints of blood/sweat and I should think a dented credit card, so naturally to you its worth a fortune. As Phatvr6 found when trying to sell his 'rado, other people arent always willing to pay the premium for the effort you've put in. If you priced it at about 8k I think you'd be realistic, but I wouldnt expect it to shift quickly. I'm sure you know already that selling on a modified car is always harder, no matter the quality of the work, and you car is the very definition of the word 'modified'.
  16. they're not a million miles away from d90's looks wise, I think they actually might work quite well, worth a go for winter rims I suppose, but the bling wont last long! powdercoat em' black ;)
  17. the mk3 GTI box isn't very strong by all accounts, arent VR 1st/2nd cogs a more common swap?
  18. if the s2000 being a 2 seater is putting you off you can rule out the TT to since it has utterly pointless rear seats, unless all your passengers are going to be midgets that is. I quite like them otherwise, the r32 engined version with 2-tone paint looks hard as nails in black roof/cream body guise and it suits massive BBS rims perfectly. Only real downside is they have a slightly hairdresser image due to them being bought by people who're too trendy for their own good.
  19. boswelox!™ edited accordingly
  20. audi s3 pros: female 'likage' factor high, especially in black or silver. cheaper = spare change to invest in mods cons: not a v6 may need suspension work to handle as well as the golf (not sure if the stock s3 is better than the a3?) less in-your-face than the r32 r32 pros: its an r32 :D cons: all the interiours I've seen in r32's have been pretty rank mixtures of bright alcantara and chrome 'i drive a golf' doesnt sound as good as 'i drive an audi' I would think its a prime target for theft and valdalisam all IMO obviously
  21. what we need is a topgear cool wall created by women including cars which are a few years old. I can quite understand the 'not getting in a subaru' comment, most women think scoobys/evos/skylines are big daft boys toys with stupid plastic bits all over them... unless they're petrolheads or skanky cruise tarts.
  22. no, of course they are, but theres a difference between being attracted to a posh car because the implied wealth of the owner and a general apreciation or 'liking' of a car. I think it depends if Neil wants to use the car to pull, or for a lady to be suitably impressed when he picks her up in it having worked his magic without the aid of material objects. My point was, if you're relying on your sw@nky (heh - swear filter moderated that!) motor to pick up women you're only going to get gold diggers, with the occasional exception.
  23. I still reckon the s2000 fits most of your criteria, fun to drive, looks good, its a soft top so practically any woman will be happy to be a passenger in it (provided you have a rear wind deflector to preserve their hair) they're unusual enough to have an air of exclusivity and in black with some smart alloys they look like they're much more expensive than they really are.
