I'm yet to try to light a cigarette from the exhaust of a flame spitting g60 or VR, but I'm sure it'd be possible. That leads on to another alternate use I suppose - eyebrow remover.

easy enough, remove the dizzy cap and you'll see the dizzy itself is held in with (IIRC) two small bolts. Undo, slide dizzy out, job done. I took the dizzy out of my old VR and swapped with with chrisVR6 nos's not-quite-as-good one before they halled the car away and I'm not mechanically skilled in any way. Just make sure the engines nice a cool though, first time I tried I got slightly warm fingers :?

I drilled the airbox on my old valver down the wing side. On the first attempt I over did it (15 or so large holes) and the car sounded like a spitfire, pinked like mad and felt slow. Using some duct-tape i experimented by blocking up all the holes, then unblocking one by one until the car felt 'right' to me. No real power gains from what i could tell, probably a loss TBH but the throttle pickup improved. In the end I had about nine 5cm diameter holes down the wing side.

below the side indicators? I'm sure riley has some german flags on his car, they look pretty smart.

fairly low miles with the chains done if it has a good service history, I reckon around £800 for the engine alone, but depending on what you're fitting you might be able to sell it as a package including the bits you wont need - loom, ecu, gearbox and so on to get more dosh.

120 miles in 1hour 15mins? :lcop: ;)

superb work mate! that porker looks a million dollars compared to how it was, your mate must've been beside himself with the result. is that sort of treatment likely to last well, or is it something you'd have to get done every few months to keep it looking good?

hi CAG, welcome to the site. the '99.99' reading is a pretty common fault with MFA's, its been discussed a few times so your best bet is to use the search function. heres a starter for 10 - http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40280&highlight=mfa

there was an american guy prepping a yellow g60 for rallying a while ago... i forget the website address but it looked pretty promising. If it were me I'd look at something cheaper to repair and run since as blue_joe says, parts aint cheap... something like a old escort or even (dare i say it) a old nova/fiesta/corsa fully stripped with choice engine mods. panels are going to be cheap and redily availible from scrappys should anything go wrong, and the engines are reasonably easy to work on, again with cheap availible parts. plus you wont cry if you kill it, which i think you might with a corrado!

can someone check what im saying makes sense?

gaz the geezer, thats why hes asking about adaptors ;) 10mm will take them to et35, which is pretty much fine on a VR if you use 205 width tires. -
 I'll see how i'm fixed mate, been mega busy dashing about to the relatives showing off the bambino this weekend and I have a feeling next weekend might be simular!

is it a right or left hooker? the left hand drive versions tend to cost a lot less, you just have to get used to sitting on the wrong side and grabbing your door when trying to change gears...

very nice wheels, not sure i like them on the S3 for some reason, nothing wrong with the car or wheels seperatly, just not my ideal combination. look forwards to seeing the 12x18's when you get them ;);)

yum! I looked at doglegs for my old VR before i got the RH's, second favorite wheels on a rado! -
i was going to say that! be a bit messy with its twin exits too :S

ah man - i thought this was the legendary 'angel eyes' thread back from the dead :(

yellowg60, congrats on the purchase, walesy really does 'love' every corrado that comes his way ;) as for the badges, if it was my car i wouldnt do it. as has been said above theres no real connection between the corrado and the wolfsburg plant (well, its wasn't built there at least) which I imagine every vw-nut and his dog would take great delight in telling you when they spot the badges, personally i'd get sick of saying 'yes, i know'. Stick with the porker caps, they're porker wheels after all.

Not sure how much help this'll be but when the engineer came out to check my VR over he said he could tell it was a well cared for, well maintained car which was obviously worth more than basic market value due to its condition (pre accident!) I reckon this is much like any insurance claim, haggle with the buggers til you're blue in the face. if you have an agree'd value with your insurance company it seems insane that the 3rd party wont take that into consideration. My guess is that the engineer didnt even inspect the car properly... ffs mine had no airbox, no heater controls and a few other choice bits missing when he checked mine over and he still said it was worth more than basic market value. I think sometimes the engineers are a tad lazy. good luck with it all, you must be feeling sick as a chip. -
If anyone wants to see what i replaced the corrado with....

niiiiiiiice! maybe its my 'inner chav' but i still get the horn for things with silly spoilers and mad power. Always liked the wagon versions myself, i suppose they have a slightly less boy-racer image... not that it matters! -
hows this? not a bad look for a track car IMO

H8RRA- a 'mate' snaps your bottom chain-what do you do?
chrishill replied to H8RRA's topic in Members Gallery
nice work paul, I didnt think the bodywork was 'that' bad to start with, it always looked good all polished up, maybe thats just your buffing technique! when its all done its not only going to be one of the best VR engines in the UK, its going to look the part too. Magazine feature for sure, if you like that sort of thing ;) -
the url in the bottom corner gives it away - thats a photoshop job :)
