  1. dont give in to branding! BBS wheels are good and have long been associated with VW's but if you can find something which looks just as nice (or better IMO), is as light, costs the same but can arrive sooner and has the added bonus of being custom made and a bit more exclusive than the LM's, why not go for it?
  2. More on it here : http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2007100574,00.html The driver rented it from the owner (who runs a car hire firm) for £20,000. I reckon the owner was being a bit nieve if he was supprised by the guy crashing it, you pay £20,000 to hire the worlds fastest production car... of course you're going to drive it carefully and sensibly *cough*
  3. is that poo on the back seat?! :pukeleft: bump strips and go-faster stripes off, no doubt
  4. thankfully it went off, I had some dodgy bloke going "jack enters ctu followed by an armed team, everyone stops what they're doing and looks at him" The first 10-15mins were also really badly pixelated, like a badly compressed video , highly bizarre! I wonder if sky downloaded the wrong file from a dodgy website? next week - French subtitles!
  5. meh, its a distant relation, I'm sure 99% of people on here are more than happy to ogle anything, corrado or otherwise, when its done right
  6. has anyone else got 24 on and got permanent audio description?? WTF?! I've tried turning it off in the audio options but its not turned on so i cant! it'd be amusing if i didn't actually want to watch it
  7. love the stance, although I'm not overly keen on the wheels they do work on the TT. Be interesting to see this progress!
  8. I think quite like the look of them, there's a certain 'pomp' and class about the styling. there's better looking supercars but I wouldn't say i dislike the Veyron at all. On the subject of spotting supercars I was on the way up to my folks last week and saw something very low and very black and very very wide reversing out of a garage - mercilargo! (or however you spell it) I almost crashed snapping my neck to see it properly, that thing has the presence of a 1000BHP supercar even if its not got the power!
  9. lets have some photos then! sounds like a beaut!
  10. nice example that, it may not be as fast as your corsa but it'd infinatly more stylish! sorry Ot thread hijack... Jim, with those borbets on your car reminds me alot of my old valver!
  11. to get the rear speakers out you need to remove the parcel shelf supports that hold them. Its a fiddly job getting them back in and lined up properly, get it wrong and the parcel shelf wont fit snug any more and will rattle about which is annoying! best bet, if you don't want to use them any more, is to just unplug them. If you're planning on replacing them with 'same size' after market ones I really wouldn't bother - they're too small to give good sound. Go for some 6x9's and a stealth-shelf to keep things looking tidy. Question about your speaker setup - do you have door speakers? The very early valvers didn't have them originally, just dash and rears, so if there's some there the last owner might have put after market ones in the doors and used the wires off the rears to power them... just a thought!
  12. hmm lets see... sold the valver after spending more that twice what i paid for it fixing it up - stupid stupid stupid! let the VR roll backwards down a hill taking out multiple neighbours cars en route - stupid stupid stupid! other than that... lowering one side of the valver 40mm and leaving the other side til 'next weekend' and consequently going around almost every corner starsky and hutch stylee letting a small dog with large bowels in the back (ew) almost losing an arm in the electric window
  13. yeah, there was a yellow one knocking about the leeds area
  14. sounds like a fair swap to me, unless you're close in which case I'd hold out for a GTI :) on a serious note, I walk past this garage most mornings and this mk2looks very tidy. Some chrome bumpers, different wheels and a spot of lowering would see her with a very tasty retro mk2.
  15. 16's for the best compromise between looks and handling, 17's fot the best 'look' IMO and 15's for the best ride. heres a C on 18's
  16. now thats feckin lovely! never seen that colour before - strato blue?
  17. 'significant addition' almost 9mins of very well shot VW's, some really nice mk2's on there! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0Nk9PWlzUE
  18. try dropping the other one, Women drivers premiums are quite a bit lower...
  19. 8x17's - et32 - 60mm drop - only 'slight' rubbing. pretty much as Kev says, what I had on my VR rubbed very slightly at the front over big bumps and if I chucked it round the bends a bit too enthusiasticaly. Nothing worth worrying about unless you drive like a loony all the time.
  20. yeah, the CTR is alright.... but check out this ! ;)
  21. in a corrado?? changing gears in my valver was like rowing a boat! the short shift in the VR was better, but its still not really a short throw. I would have thought getting the cutout big enough to allow movement of the stick but small enough so as not to have a gaping hole would be very tricky indeed.
  22. wouldnt have thought it'd be too expensive to get yourself a damaged but usable front bumper from somewhere while yours is being worked on... unless you need the bumper off for access while doing something else!
  23. quite nice that mate. (starts with a compliment ;)) I've take out the top menu though, theres no real need to have those 4 buttons up the top then the main menu is there on the left, I'd also shift the search thing down to there too. I'd also use a very pale gray for the background, just to make the actual 'site' bit stand out from the whitespace, something subtle like #D7D7D7 would do I reckon. looking good otherwise
  24. looks very good paul, I had some work done by CF in the past, actually asked them about respraying my valver when i first got it but they quoted almost 2k! expensive but quality results, you gets what you pays for. As I said on the phone, nice to have the bodywork matching the interiour (when its clean!) and the engine. At least you've got til next year to refine it for the 2007 show season. looks bloody good in those photos though, bet you're chuffed!
  25. I wonder if the speakers come on stage to that classic tune... "wiki, wiki, junglist massiiiive"
