Quickest car you've been in, owned and most interesting....
chrishill replied to NickVR6's topic in General Car Chat
good addition - fastest I've been was an indicated 150mph in the VR with H8RRA (pre mental engine) and Chrisvr6 nos right behind me. whats the margin for error? 10% overread? probably more like 135mph if thats the case, still had to change my pants afterwards though. -

fastest owned, my old VR fastest experianced, an r32 skyline with unknown mods, felt insanely quick whatever was done to it! most interesting... hmm, hard to say. Not a particularly interesting car, but when the primera GT first came out I was taken around the nissan test track in one at the sunderland plant which was an interesting experiance at least. A mates dad had a 'sherwood' kit car which was fairly cool, but i think the car I'll always remember is the mk3 cortina coupe I got a lift home in while doing work experiance from school. It was brilliant white with black slats on the rear window, big fat rear tyres and little skinny front ones, 8-ball on the ariel, bonnet scoop, the whole bit. I'd never seen anything like it before let alone been driven at brakeneck speed down country lanes in one by a guy i'd just met and scrounged a lift home off because he lived close to me. -
Can you guess what it is yet? or "learn about VW histor

i thought Fridolin was what they gave hyperactive kids... I love aircooled VW's, my first car-love being a beetle why back when I was a nipper means i'll always have a soft spot for retro-cool. Sadly I dont know that much about them, I too thought that was a Kubel -
whoops! yes hadnt spotted that, eva longorwhatsitsnamehousewife sucking a finger... obviously it had jam or or something, and we know how big corporations feel about sticky fingers... link title edited in accordance.

Nah mate, Hitler killed a load of Jews then invaded poland... although you're right that the ownership of Alsace has been a point of contention historically.

sorry if this has ben posted before... lots more pics here - some mild finger sucking imagary NSFW Roughly translated the text at the top in french says... "tada! heres some photos of my corrado with a s*ite body kit glued on!! I can't beleive I own this pile of do-do!" Fitting it was built in Alsace by, I assume, an Alsatian since it is undoubtedly a dogs breakfast.

Proberly the rarest Corrado in existance today..
chrishill replied to W3RKD's topic in General Car Chat
from the website - " The Bodykit for the cars, were made by a company who made plastic parts for VW" which explains why the front of the car looks like a fancy heater vent. I quite like the boxed arches, they obviously thought 'well it worked on the golf rallye' and tried it on the corrado. -

sorry mate, i prefered the borbets silver! your car, your choice though, they still look good. what happened to those RH rims? -
lovely porker there jay, as someone else said earlier on its simular to the corrado in that it looks good as-is and only really needs bringing up to date in terms of styling, but i'm sure you already know exactly what you're doing and will create something special.

body coloured centers, deffinatly. and yeah i'd lower it a bit more, 60mm is spot on for looks IMO and not 'too' impractical day to day depending on what size chin spoiler you have, mine was 60mm down with a 90mm spoiler and it only caught over large speed bumps in daily use.

thats probably the nicest boxter i've seen to date, love the interiour! the poor mans 911 thing is an odd one, its been applied to every model 'under' the 911 in the range from the 912 in the 60's to the 924 and now the boxster. Funny that no-one calls the lambo gallardo the 'poor mans mercilargo' (spelling on both? :?). Its a stigma some people attach to the boxster and I must admit I'm guilty of it myself. Still, i wouldnt say no to one, £17k hardly makes it for the 'poor man'.

I think H8RRA's quote was for a passat sunroof swap, possibly inclusive of the sunroof... but dont quote me on that. I'm sure he'd be only too happy to help in exhange for a few beer tokens, drop him a PM toon vr, hes only in Boldon near Sunderland.

I've have one. I like the look of the 307CC with its roof up, granted the windscreen is at a bit of a steap angle but still. Mum's got a Megane CC which IMO is ugly as hell, the EOS looks better than them both. Am i right in saying its the new jetta with a foldy roof? or is it passat based?

another (semi) local! :D If you're looking for a nice valver, look no further than a member named 'sciroccotune' whos selling a nice red example and is from newcastle. should be in the 'for sale' forum, but if not its one of the first corrados that comes up on autotrader.
-
how about fitting a ferarri f40 bonnet vent, focus indicators and neons? everyone would know it was yours then! just kidding mate, i wouldnt know where to start making that my own becuase its so complete as it is. New wheels would be a good start, but as has been said they're going to have to be special! you could get a sunstrip in the front windsceen saying 'Jay bob' (swap bob for your name ;))

oh aye ;) careful mate you'll get a reputation!

Possibly Inane chat?!!...Corrado running cost...
chrishill replied to Concept-e's topic in General Car Chat
look at it this way, the newest raddo is going to be a late 1996 VR6, making it ten years old. With the best will in the world its unlikely you'll find a ten year old car which DOESNT have issues, as VR6 says its a case of finding the best example you can to try an limit your spending later on. just as an example case my first raddo was a 1989 'G' plate valver, one of the first as far as i can work out. The only problems I had with it were caused by knackered HT leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm, other than that it gave me 18 months of faultless service and I deeply regret selling it now! the VR6 I had after it wasnt quite so reliable and had a few electrical gremlins, but the pleasure of driving it FAR out weighed the problems and cost of running it. -
nothing like a partially dressed woman pumping a nozle in the sun :D

when someone called Jon's Corrado a 'Corolla' he really took afence

Will I sell my Rado?? 24v V6 - PVW Cover Car Jan 06
chrishill replied to 24V Renshaw's topic in General Car Chat
I guess you'll never need to buy a set of porsche adaptors! -
the use of a semi-circle of reflective silver stuff for the rear fogs and reverse lights REALLY spoils these, were they to use silver stuff all the way over as per the inpro clear/red and smoked/red's they'd look perfect. shame really.

maybe YOU'RE dunklegrun! :drinking:

get the image on screen, then on the top row of your keyboard, right hand side, you should see a 'print screen' key. tap that, then open up a graphics package (paint would do) and go to edit -> paste... then save :)

can you hear the fuel pump whining away most of the time? could well be on its way out. a stock valver should be capable of 120ish with enough 'private' road. Do you know when it last had new plugs/HT leads/rotor arm/dizzy cap? they're fairly cheap to change and a good starting point for valvers.

I know this will get locked immediately.... perhaps not....
