Crashed: Car at home now...to assess fixability
chrishill replied to Taggart's topic in General Car Chat
If it does turn out to be a write-off most insurance companies will allow you to remove the tax disc and get a refund, I did it with mine. Not sure how an untaxed car would effect a claim, but at least you know you wont be £90 out of pocket for the tax. -
nice! perspex steering-wheel... hmm, i can see issues there, perspex tends to break into rather sharp edges :? not nice in an impact i shouldnt think.

always fancied a GT-four, nice cars. the install looks a bit wild! not what i was expecting to see inside TBH but looks well done. needs a different steering wheel though mate ;)
-
not a nice thing to come home to after a night on the ale, hope you get it sorted mate. seems new years is all the incentive some people need for a spot of vandalisam, locally around 100 people had their tyres slashed in a supposedly quiet area. :(

Just spotted it, dunno if its been mentioned before? about 25mins in, just after moneypenny makes the 'cunning linguist' gag, the scene changes to bond in his aston, behind him to the right of the screen is the corrado!
-
yup, you want VAG-COM. lift the plastic trim around the gearstick and you should see some connections at the side closest the dash. you'll need to buy the right cable from somewhere, depending on what C you have. ebays probably your best bet.

i know how you feel matey, rightly or wrongly I used the VR as a way of letting off steam, plant the right foot, let the K&N roar and hang on for dear life... worked every time. the GTI I have now is nice and that, but its like driving a sponge, no feedback from the road or the car, no where near the same level of communication through the steering wheel... its like going with danni minogue after being with kylie ;)

I noticed that when I was parked up next to one at work, they're about the same size, if not a 'touch' bigger. -

stanbates, just been playing with that too, its nice, but i think in trying to be a bit too realistic it spoils things.
