somehow it doubt it'll have the cool edge to it that I'm expecting, I'm thinking road movies like vanishing point, cannonball run, gumball rally, easy rider (sans narcotics) and that early speilburg film where the guy gets hounded by a big truck, only I'd want my trip to go without the fear of impending death!

heh, yeah i did think that comment was rather relivant to my experiances! not sure i could live with a rat though, i like shiny things too much
-
its always been a dream of mine to do a cross-america drive in a ratty old convertible yank barge like you saw in all those 80's movies. a rado-rat would be ideal!
-
its more about the character of the car/engine rather than the power output. putting a 4-pot with a blower into a VR would be, to some people, sacralidge.
-
i can see opinions being very devided over this one, what price can you put on exclusivity? personally i reckon its worth a couple of grand over the price of a standard VR in the same condition, yes they're rare, but they aint gold plated!
-
nah, hes done the 'jaguar bonnet orniment' mod ;)
-
the (now infamous) Laura, a mate of badNG's who he brought along to promote the forum. Nice lass too, good looking and pretty inteligent with it which is normally not the case! oddly enough that EXACTLY the question my G/F asked when I was shoing her the photos ;)
-
have a gander at this lot paul, if thers any you think might suit the banner and that include your car, let me know as i've still got the massive hi-res versions which I can pass on to dinky for the banner. My leeds photos
-
you're not suggesting you fleece this poor woman if she really doesnt know what shes got are you? sheesh! if shes not willing to sell, stick a copy of a magazine article detailing exactly how rare and important the camp's are under her windscreen in the hopes that she'll decide to take really really good care of it!

homebase 'brilliant white' one coat gloss :rainbow1:
-
I was expecting a photoshop of you with BBS wheels for feet or something! Theres not much more of your motor on the original photo paul :D
-
has it been making funny noises recently? thats normally a good indication that the fan's on its way out. They're easy to change and fairly cheap from GSF (£60 IIRC)
-
colour coded with polished outers (chrome them if you CBA to keep polishing ;)) not gold though, thats just wrong.
-
I've a feeling the clutches GSF and euro car parts sell are cheaper than the VAG ones by a long way (isnt everything?) but they're a false economy since they're not as smooth as the genuine ones.
-
the corrado bug has you firmly in its grip mate! £680 sounds like alot, but when I had my valver and thought the head was on its way out I was quoted about £400 so long as the head didnt need a skim.
-
nice one fella, username seems more fitting now somehow! glad to see you finally got the VR you've been wanting for ages, look forwards to seeing you about in it!
-
^ sheesh, sharking already 16v? hello lupobabe, if thats your motor in your sig, lets see some more snaps! the wide rims and car-bra visible in that pic indicate a sweet mini-dub!

phatvr6, Jay (24vrenshaw i think?), biggerbigben, coxylad and a few others should be able to help you out here. I think it might have been covered in some of their other posts, I'm sure there was a thread called 'the definative 24v into a corrado thread' a while back...

 have to admit to using 1337 speak sometimes, but its ALWAYS in an ironic way. |-|0n35t1y.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woot everything you could ever want to know about w00t! and more besides!
-
tidy looking car and a smart install, although the boot looks a bit messy, personally I'd have made a false MDF floor and put all the componants under that with a few cooling fans dotted about for vetilation. love the nerdy reg plate though 'woot' indeed!

ZW1's look fantastic, I've not seen the ZW3's on a corrado, I think they might look pretty good. From a quick look at their site (http://www.rh-alurad.de/indexen.html) They do a 8.5x17 in 5x100 fitment, above that they go to 5x112 for newer VW's and Audis and they do up to a 10x17! I guess you could get adaptors, but I think that might push the wheels out way too far if they're 9 inches wide already and you cant go past arch level. For referance I had AG cup's on my old VR which were 8x17 on an et 32 and the wheel face sat as near as damnit level with the arch.

I quite fancy seeing it, i've heard nothing but good reports... realistic or not anyone seen buffalo soldiers? thats way off the mark in terms of realism but still a damn good film.

I am the only one who thinks the Corrado looks stupid.......
chrishill replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
I've a feeling the whole useful/usless spoiler issue has been talked about before and the outcome was that it provides no downforce, instead it modifies the airflow over the back of the car at higher speeds to reduce drag. A spoiler that size is never going to produce enough downforce, even at 100MPH, to make a useful difference. -
early B4's are cheap as chips now, and they're damn good cars. not sure on the estate since I've never driven one, but if the saloon's anything to go by it'd be a very good buy.
