  1. welcome to the forum mate, nice clean looking car! that turbo must be a sweet bit of kit
  2. rotor arm was nice and tight, the contacts looked pretty good, a little oxidised but only enough to discolour them, same with the contacts in the dizzy cap itself
  3. yeah, it idled normally. I took the dizzy cap off last night and had a look as best i could around the distributor, couldnt see any oil... would it be that obvious just by looking at it from there?
  4. i really dont want to guess whats going on behind nick in that last pic, his face says it all!
  5. A 'basics' section in the KB would be very welcome, things that alot of people on here would do as second nature are still a mystery to me, and i suspect others. I know its been said before that it'd be better if novices didnt mess with things they didnt understand but I think everyone knows what they are/arent capable of! I'm talking about things like changing brake-pads/discs, replacing spark plugs, changing the oil and so on.
  6. I doubt VW expected people to be doing over a ton in conditions where you need your wipers on!
  7. the M5 was impressive in 'M' mode but you'd expect them to make it a little more refined in 'non-M', as far as i could tell they've tried to make it a jekyll and hyde car by letting you choose between an everyday(ish) saloon and a monster supercar killer, its just a shame the jekyll side let it down so badly, according to jezza anyway. bloody ugly too!
  8. AFAIK it had a new dizzy not long before I bought it, could it be the plugs/leads?
  9. cheers RW1 sound pretty much exactly like whats happening, just need to find someone local with VAG-COM now!
  10. just coming back from my parents about 10mins ago, giving the vr a bit of a run down the a1 to let it flex its muscles. backed off when I drove past a police car attending a small shunt, then went to accelerate again when out of their sight.... only it didnt! power for about a second then nothing, revs drop, engines still running but no power. dipped the clutch and coasted for a second, pulled into the slow lane and lifted the clutch... powers back! its there for about 5 seconds then goes... then comes back... then goes again! I limp home at about 50mph crapping myself. Theres no funny smell, no funny noises, no smoke. Basically it felt like i'd come off the accelerator when I hadnt at all, then suddenly it kicked back in! My first thoughts were a fuel problem, the symptoms kind of remind me of what happend when I ran out of fuel in the 16v, but I've got about 1/8th of a tank in the vr at the moment so it should be fine. anyone got any ideas?
  11. I've just noticed its another 'K' plater! Chrisvr6nos and I commented on the fact that of the 4 silver corrado's at VW festival 3 were K reg, must've been a good year for silver or something!
  12. if it were a mobile camera and the date was wrong, i'd be questioning its calibration and asking to see the paperwork for when it was last done. my argument would be if they cant get the date right how can you take their evidence of you speeding as fact?
  13. as soon as chris transfers his plate it'll be back to stealth/truth!
  14. my reg plate says 'supercharged vr6 nos' at the bottom (since that was the spec when chris had it) so I could always pretend its just not running right and join in...
  15. ...if you have the window open when its raining yes

    60mm drop

i get a little rubbing on the front drivers side, but my wheels are a funny offset, you look like you've got bk299's? h8rra has those on his with coilovers dropped lower than mine and as far as i know, has no issues

    60mm drop

mines down 60mm on koni's which are a little long in the tooth now. ride quality isnt all that bad at all, its a bit bumpy but you expect that with a fairly large drop, and i would imagine newer springs/shocks would ride better than mine. Its certainly not un-livable by any means. If you want the 'wheels to the arches' look, 60mm on 17's is the way to go.
  18. still like the look of that roof, very neat and tidy...

    16" P42

just be wary of clearing your front calipers
  20. yours look alot more 'bling' than the ones on the car, which is always good :)
  21. is that them on yours or just an example pic? with the car that low they look spot on!
  22. it'll be interesting to see what these look like on your car, I've seen them on golf's but never a corrado, sounds like a good price especially since they came all the way from germany!
  23. I've heard Perry McCarthys name connected to the first stig too, I always thought they 'killed' him because everyone knew who it was?
  24. thats no good! I was hoping it was some sort of stirling moss cyborg :(
