I'm happy to still call my Corrado reliable as per the VW slogan! 167k and not a issue! Well not one that I haven't tempted fate myself with! You find me a Renault that age that is still running on it's original equipment minus the obvious rubber consumables etc....

Coxys R32 4 Motion Corrado - On the Road!!!!
Sean_Jaymo replied to CoxyLaad's topic in Members Gallery
I'm so happy that this was bought up and not broken :) -
I think there is a snag within vagcom and the corrado abs unit interface. Some have managed to get the link to work by lowering the communication speed or latency. Have a go at that and see how that goes?

Couple of recent photos for everyone... -
Bought mine at 147k and now at 165k with a track day, a trip to the ring and a 55odd mile a day commute. Admittedly I have replaced the entire cooling system and the suspension has been upgraded to coilovers. The original suspension wasn't too bad though.

Who ever owns that has taken, piece by piece, all of the good things about a Corrado's styling away.... Each to their own but that is mighty Fugly imho....... Being different for the sake of it....

At least give them a clean, I did mine over the weekend and instantly noticed an imporvement in preformance and the economy rose from my 28mpg to work to 31mpg... I've also been told by a few people that they need to be cleaned out every 30k or so but not sure if that's entirely acurate!! BTW Mine were on 164k and looked original and minging!

A group of lads walking down the pavement towards me as I was driving along. I promptly saw one of them continue to stare at the car as he walked into a lamp post as I went past! Made my day anyway!

Standard and original ? I don't think the exact figures mean much coming from different RR's but your peak torque is 1000 rpm higher then mine !? Yeah standard and original! Only thing it had prior was a full service and new plugs etc. I'm thinking that the higher torque rev range is prob due to a tired head with valve springs that are probably past their perfect best! Also at the same time the oil I had in it was 5 weight so that may be making a difference. Runs on 10 weight now but not noticed anything obvious? Still it runs beautifully, uses a little oil (even less now i've got the heavier weight stuff in it), doesn't rattle and has been perfectly reliable! Well done VW! You have built a cracker with this one!

Was out with the camera the other day and realised that I hadn't taken any photo's of Giggity Gew! Looking back at other photos from when I first got her, the difference is quite impressive! First off, The old shed when I first got her! And now a year later! -
Well done! I'm not saying I know what I'm doing when it comes to race prepping cars but can be pretty handy with spanners and the like. I fix Helicopters near you for a living! Let me know if you want any help?

I've got one that colour so that kinda makes me a given! Not keen on the tow-bar and stickers mind!

My MOT man said it was great to see old "Proper" cars on the road these days and that I should keep it "just to keep the green people angry!"
