Corrado is going to take a well earned rest in the garage and await some TLC when I have some time! In the mean time, the Polo just wasn't cutting it so I pick this little beaut up next weekend! Not the most practical daily but I have hankered after one for years and thought I best get it out of the way before I get to the point of having kids, expensive mortgages etc! -
Saw a Roc R at UD and was mightily underwhelmed! It's a 30k car that looks nothing like it!

I know! Looking into 2.8 lumps....

When you go home from having this done can you pop in to mine so I can get some motivation to go into the cold and do mine?!!!
-
C looks really classy on the those wheels!
-
RE The ARB, Rear ones are definitely worth the effort, with or without the coilovers. Front ones will tend to encourage understeer...

Get it done Kris! Best thing I did with mine!

Just had a quick look, DCPerfomance.co.uk do them for £579.28 delivered. Not used them myself but could be worth looking into....
-
Scratch that, Just checked and they are the same price as GWerks... Crazy inflation!
-
I got mine from JabbaSport about a year ago for about a £100 less than that, I would be concerned if they climbed up by that much in a year :)

Cheers guys, POkey it is not, goes well enough I guess but I miss the torque of a VR! Not as good on the old juice as you would think either, only about 4-6mpg better... Still it's perfect for a daily runner! On the C front, not had a chance to touch her since the beginning of January, too cold and I have been far too busy with work and this little guy -

Lol No probs! Thanks :) Well the Corrado replacement has arrived, It is a X reg Polo GTi 3 door... No Corrado by any stretch but a bit more comfortable on the daily commute and a bit better on fuel. I will get some pics up for those of you who want to see an old polo :) Luckily I have been running this instead of the Rado as I think the splitter would have long gone other wise or I would have beached myself in the snow! -
2 today! 1 in Witney around 1600 near the hill leading up to Witney East A40 on ramp. Blue one, Flashed but I was in the Polo so that probably confused matters! Red one on the Swinford Toll Bridge just about to pay, I was going the other way, again in the Polo so wouldn't have seen me!

Thanks, It is the original colour tho! Mainly a G60 colour but a few very early VR's were this colour as well as far as I know. -

Cheers Pete Most of the bushings have been done but it's coming up on the age where I need to rebuild parts of the engine before a turbo goes on... I also had an electrical "issue" the other day which I have a feeling could have been cause by a butcher installing the alarm years ago instead of a qualified technician and as a result I have a mess to rewire. The body work needs a good going over as there are a few bits of rust coming up etc but to do all of this right, I need time and parts and I can't justify spending all of that cash at once and risk myself being stuck without a car so I bit the bullet and SORNed her. Never fear though, I will refuse to let her rot away and go to Corrado heaven! Cheers Philmo, They've had a clean since then! -

Cheers mate! I have SORNed her as of today as I want to do a lot of mileage related work on her and as a result wont be able to use her as a daily... Bit of a shame but have got myself a Polo GTi to thrash back and forth in so that should encourage me to work fast :) Typical really as I mopped her over the Christmas break and she was looking very purdy... sometimes needs must tho... -

Synchromesh? just a stab in the dark...[/quote:u4zq85o1] Cheers for the stab Kris, Not that tho! It's sorted itself out now after I fiddled a bit with the linkages! Must have tweeked something on fitting the slave cylinder. Thanks for taking the time to read OSV, Most appreciated and glad to know you didn't feel you wasted your time! -
Just watched live on the BBC News! It's going to be a cracking year!
