Sounds like a plan!
-
I've heard plenty of people say that they've found the gearbox one loose but never heard of a snapped version.
-
At stealth, The local garage failing an MOT due to dodgy rear bearings or on someone's driveway having the heater matrix replaced (with the dash still fitted I'd hazard a guess). Just my guess.

I do about 6 or 7 k a year and I do tend to keep the car cleaned and the wheels waxed so that tends to make maintenance easier. I'm in no rush to do anything yet as I'm in the middle of changing jobs. -
You two aren't the only one who thinks about chucking it all in. I've only got to take non car people out in my car to be highlighted at how rubbish it is!

Standard 288/312 calipers. I'm thinking DS Performance pads are for me. -

I don't think you can ds2500 to fit these calipers and the 3000 are race pads which may be a bit overkill/dangerous for the road. -
We'll organise a meet just reinvigorate your mojo Mic!

Basically so long as it reads less than 0.5 you're good.
-
Either way you don't want more than an amp of draw with the alarm on that's for sure! Preferably about half an amp.
-
Quite right, my mistake.
-
Yes that's right. The setting is just the maximum amount of amps that the setting can handle.
-
I've got a toad alarm and the specs state that it has 18mA drain when armed with ultrasonics.
-
What's the make and model of the alarm? You'll need to know what the normal drain is although if you're suddenly drawing 3 or 4 amps, you've found the problem!
-
In that case, make sure before you check the parasitic drain with the alarm on that you tape the bonnet alarm switch down otherwise you will have the alarm wanting to go off with the bonnet being open causing all sorts of funny readings.
-
It may be a bad battery. It's 3 months old but that means nothing if it's been doing it ever since you fitted it.
-
And that's why there isn't a rubber on the pedal...

I like science! -
I'd be suspect that it actually at 90k though being in that kind of condition. I'm a natural cynic though!
-
Lot of cash for a car with paint that bad on that kind of mileage. Where has it been sat? Under a tree or in a desert? Makes me feel good about mine!

Just to see how effective my new brakes were in comparison to the standard crap. I'd love some big AP's or something but they don't fit under my wheels and I like those too much to give them up for brakes, especially if the VW OE stuff can stop you so quickly when tweaked with braided lines and a Teves20 system. Better pads next for me! -
It's not dangerous to slip of an accelerator pedal, unless you are driving like a tool. You never put force into an accelerator pedal, only the brake and clutch.
-
Looks healthy from here then. Hopefully a good drive will sort it out :-)
-
A loose battery terminal will cause stalling. Lambda wiring will also cause all sorts of running issues.

My suspension was refreshed and the shocks were about 40k old boge turbos. The B12s are a bit firmer but the ride is so much more controlled but then you are comparing midrange oil shocks with upper end gas. No scraping anywhere anyhow. I could get the front to scrape under heavy braking and I can't now!
