Pain of a job to get it just right!
-
Good idea, or even as a form of donation if a couple of quid is added to the price.
-
Why would you want to do that? Just replace the in tank pump with something better. Removing the back seats to fit something that isn't anywhere as good as the stock tank seems ridiculous.
-
That's a shame Jim, will be good to see the Fiesta though!

I'm going to be fitting B12's next week so I'll give my feedback then. So far, everything about B12 on the Corrado has been positive, so fingers crossed!
-
I best change my outfit plans then!
-
That might work for me then! Will confirm further down the line.
-
Can we have a rough and ready competition then?
-
With my B12's en route, I'm out unless this is happening over the summer?
-
The hubs themselves are the same, maybe the hub carriers are different?

Chuggs, I got my complete braided lines from c and r enterprises online. Cost about £70 but you can pay more depending on if you want plated or stainless unions. It is sold as a conversion kit for fitting mk4 rears and 288 fronts. I'd get you a link but I'm not on a laptop. For future reference, 312 and 288 calipers are one and the same, the only difference being the larger carrier and discs and a 6mm spacer. You do need a minimum of 16s though. If costs are a bit high now. Keep the brakes you have, they are more than likely OK and the garage are just after more of your cash. Give it a month, 2 or 3 to collect the parts and then you fit nice new parts everywhere knowing that you don't have to change anything in the next few years.
-
Yeah, they're from the mk2 as well.
-
Oh and 312 discs are the same as S3 brakes and TT brakes. Got to love vw parts bins!

If you're replacing the front lines with braided, you are best of replacing the remaining 4 flexi lines. When you replace rubber with braided, the pressure that would normally cause the rubber to swell slightly will be transmitted to the other soft rubber lines. If the lines are a bit old, you will be causing extra undue strain on them and shortening their lives quickly. The calipers are available from a lot of the faster mk4 base golfs/audis/seats/skodas etc and are cheap as chips. You can use mk4 calipers and carriers. The only part that you must use that is mk3 is the discs themselves. They must also be the late discs otherwise you will be fitting 280 back on! Don't use mk4 288 discs, they are a different offset and don't bolt straight on.

Sure is mate, the 180 part is from auto silicone hoses. I couldn't find many tight bend 180 stainless steel pipe in 3 inch guise. The other end is attached to a silicone joiner to the MAF and the airbox. I've got future plans but need to find some parts first!

Haha fair enough! -
This is pretty much what I made up for my 24v, if I knew the sizes of these pipes, I could make up some for people.

What are the diameters of the individual cylinders? -
Greece? The dealers have them for about £15.

A halfords socket set, best you can afford, should be all you need for basic servicing. Halfords sometimes sell their tool sets for half price, for example, I bought the top model for £150. After that, a trolley jack and axle stands and a decent hammer and that will do most of what you want.

It's ok though, my wife is bound by law to laugh at my jokes so I don't get too disheartened.

So long as nothing is rotten together, there should only be about 3 or 4 hours work there. Easy for somebody like vag hag especially when he has access to a workshop!

Crank sensors usually cause trouble when they are hot. Normally it's the sensor that's OK but the loom running between it and the plug tends to break down has insulation problems. A new sensor assembly may cure it. It is also common for it to fail and not show a code.

It's lost on mere mortals when translated to text!
