2001 Golf v6 4motion gearbox low milage - SOLD
Sean_Jaymo replied to Mk3highline's topic in Parts for Sale
It's an 02m box Jim. Needs a different flywheel, clutch and mounts to start. You'll also need the rear take off blanked and I think different cv cups on the drive shaft. Bonus being the strength and being 6 speed! -
How would you prove that an engine is pre 91? Some are obviously pre and post but a lot of engines are cross over dates.
-
Cats are done on chassis registration apposed to engine fitment so anything 92 or after needs one if I remember my dates accurately.
-
The exact stuff I use! Works a treat!

The copies made up by someone on here in a group buy are like this. Not overly concerned as it looks great with the red illumination but as you say, it's distracting at night. Original VW spec switches had green illumination instead of the red I think?

VW do a brand spanking new leather one for £45 or so.

I've got some loom tape if you want it?

Christ, my entire car stands me at less than 3k. Car purchase and all modifications included. It could do with a lick of paint though. -

Or better yet, stick a few pennies a litre on fuel and get rid of the entire excise duty rubbish. -
They normally start with a pin hole and get worse and worse from there. The smell of coolant and steam on the inside of the windscreen when directed to the windscreen are the main clues. If it's displaying these symptoms, it's best to replace asap. The last thing you want in your life is the contents of the engine coolant system all over the passenger floor or even worse, all over your passenger! Especially at 90 plus degrees!

I'm just glad you've already conceded to taking the dash out instead of messing about behind it! Good excuse to get some felt and cure that last rattle or 2, not that you had many!
-
There are 2 plugs for the dash indicators. That helps I guess! 1 is in the dash loom multi plug and the other is a single connector on its own. Have they worked recently?
-
Bugger!
-
It looks old and hugely out of place in that company! Looks to be in good condition though!
-
No bad taste at all here nige. I'm grateful for what you do.

The things with these cars, they are worth a lot more as parts and that fact seems to becoming more and more known. Things like steering locks and isolation switches mean nothing when they're just lifted or dragged onto the back of a low loader. Best of leaving it elsewhere for a few weeks until this problem moves on or park it in a place where nicking it requires large cahunas. -

Sit in the car with a big bat? Or move it to somewhere more open. -
I said he bought a car that was older, faster and more expensive. I never implied a thing. You bought up the topic of him buying it pre-built, to which I agreed and noted that you had also done the same. If you feel a bit objectionable about this, then I can't help that...
-
I never said he built it? Have another read...
-
No point? I never mentioned anything about him building it, you did. You are a miserable git sometimes.
